They are just the best band I have ever heard. It's like when I was 16 years old and my bedroom wall was papered with posters of my favourite groups of the 70s. Now all these years later I find myself so invested in the music of this band that I really couldn't contemplate a day without it. I saw them three times in 2023 and am expectantly waiting for 2024 European dates to appear on the website.
same here. I've been listening them since 2014 and till today I'm not tired of them at all. I saw them twice and I can say that I cried both concert. Gosh!, this is the perfect band, for me, at least.
As much as I love the studio versions of their songs, there;s just another level these guys hit once they have been on tour for a while..If you can see them live, you will not be dissapointed
goddamn i love this band....when the female piano player has this look of pure bliss on her face and she looks at the drummer and he cracks the same look as if to say, 'we're in heaven.'....the singers declaratory way of singing reminds me of sean kelley of the samples....tops on my list....along with nathaniel rateliff and the night sweats and tedeski/trucks....maybe i need to spend some time in west philadelphia....
Total agreement on both points - never thought the band could get better but she’s awesome and I love her energy and her vocals are 🔥🔥🔥 can’t wait to see them live again!!!!!!!
Hard to believe it’s been six and a half years since this song came into the world. I still remember listening to it for the first time with my brother, as we cut through the desert expanse of New Mexico’s I-10 corridor, headed west toward Los Angeles. It’s been a lullaby on so many sleepless nights, a deep comfort in the early morning hours. A lot has happened since then, but I’m still brought to tears from time to time by the lines “I’m in love, I’m in pain”. This song is a cry of the heart. Easily one of the best ever written. To Adam and every other band member, thank you for creating such a masterpiece.
This is the best live mix of this song by far. Sounds full and does the song justice, ACL personnel did a great job not like Late night show mix engineers who always ruin TWOD live mixes.
Impressive musicianship - the self-control and disciplin!! Wow, they got HUGE...remember when I saw them just after they released Slave Ambient at a tiny venue here in Copenhagen (Loppen) - standing there drunk just next to them and the stage is on almost same level as the audience...thinking "wow, these guys deserve to become HUGE". And so they did!!! Justice did prevail :)
This song always makes me think of a friend sadly gone too soon, but with a smile. This band are just absolutely incredible and they deserve superstardom but do we really want to share them? I think not!
Can't wait for their return to the States. I love Eliza too! She adds just the right amount of talent and intrigue to keep this band stellar well into the future. I like to think the boys go to no end to cherish and protect her on the road.
Great song well captured live, brilliant engineering and as always tasteful and appropriate drumming by the master. As close to live excellence as you will get. Thanks Mustard !
MUSTARD, I must say that you have captured this band so perfectly,I almost consider you a part of the band!! Between Lowlands and now ACL,all I can say is...PLEASE KEEP IT UP..
Goin' the way I always do Callin' out your name Tryin' not to hate myself For gettin' in the middle And shining every light upon it Still I miss the way you'd hold me close In a cold wind I caught you in our room staring at the light I'd been up all night Is this life and we're just living it? Still I wanna celebrate our love I've been rollin' like a sixteen I can die on the floor I've been shackled and delivered There's a girl out there with silence in her eyes Her truth is in the dark And I see you comin' in view Yeah, I need you I'm comin' in two In view Ain't no wind that I could feel in a rain, in a rain, in a fleetin' rain Turn around and rip my heart Then look at it and say how you broke away Ain't no way to elevate to another line With nowhere to go Ain't no chains to hold you in To hold you to To losing you I was hiding from an enemy When something inside me died It's hard to see real clear these days With darkness on my mind As I stare into the ocean floor And I wonder where I once was Was I fallin' through the air tonight Then crumble into your arms Is this love? Are you sure? Is it something you can control? I'm retired I'm in chains I'm in love I'm in pain All these changes everywhere Just go ahead and take my hand Hold me close, now let me go Try and understand I believe in all the power In doing what we can do We can try and learn to make it through Then come out the other side I don't see you at all comin' in view How do we decide what we can do? I can't read your mind Just gimme the truth
In a promo video there is a second we can see Drugs playlist por this ACL show. Did they play Old Skin, Ocean Between the Waves, Living Proof and Holding On? They were on the printed selist
My friends have been to ACL tapings, and they say there are not only extra songs, but songs redone several times for best versions etc. But a lot of that stuff never comes to the masses. They do offer " harmonias dream" as a web exclusive, and it's the best version of that song EVER
@@dawnpatrol700 Thanks for sharing! I agree completely with you: this version of "Harmonia's" is the best so far. I also like how they to put new arrangements on them songs, like "Pain", that has some new details in the second guitar solo and in the intro. I love Adam's despair when singing the last minutes of Harmonia's (from minute 7 onwards), it reminds me the darker side of Bruce Springsteen, a kind of Darkness on the Edge of Town feeling
