They did all those zones pretty dirty too, since they haven't been used since TBC and even then they were only low level zones, besides the Sunwell and Zul'Aman raid, I wonder if they will be the new leveling zones too.
@@Dryzual Oh, the DEI crap has already made it into WW with the black, disabled woman who's also a half elf and who's a big name character with the arathi. She's briefly shown in the recent WW trailer. You can also count on a few quests where you help some alphabet NPC's find love and the infinite dragonflight has been going on and on about "our truth" whatever that means. If anyone is thinking Metzen being back is going to truly turn the game around, back to a time of Legion- don't get your hopes up.
I'm pretty hyped about those zones being revamped to modern standards also. So many good memories from leveling there in the early days and then the zones were left to dust..
Since a lot of people apparently missed it: Sylvanas has already died three times, there was a Horde quest in Silverpine Forest where she was shot and resurrected.
Yeah, Sylvanas is the only one who actually makes sense here, in her 3rd death since undeath. Hopefully she will be back soon, wow lore has been so garbage since they tried to ruin her intentionally.

Azhara being the main villain of Midnight or having a central role in a "elf" focused expansion would be on point. Being once an elf herself and the role she has played in the events of azeroth.
I think she will be the 2nd patch final boss, and the final boss of the expansion will probably be a Void Lord. But, either way I'm glad we didn't kill her in BFA and she can have a proper death with an expansion focused on her.
I'm way more excited for Midnight than The War Within, the Void expansion is what I've been waiting forever for. I'm so glad Azshara gets her own expansion, but I'm not sure if she will be the final boss, she might be the 2nd patch final boss, she's also pretty much the last old lore villain we have left alive besides Sargeras. I think Midnight might be like a Cataclysm 2.0 where the entire world will be covered in shadow and completely destroyed and void corrupted. I also think will fight Turalyon, especially if Alleria dies. If Azshara isn't the final boss, than I suspect the final boss might be a Void Lord.
It feels SO F*CKING GOOD to be back to these story beats that the foundation was set on in Legion. And obviously Legion had been finally following stories that had been put in place all the way back in WC3. I can't express enough just how much I'm looking forward to the worldsoul saga. It looks like Metzen is going to have a real chance to finally plan multiple expansions. the way it always should have been. And give us an ending to beat even the Legion conclusion. A Spectacle Deserving of being his Legacy.
No doubt! I haven’t played in 7 years so I am ITCHING to get back for this saga with a renewed perspective on gaming. It has changed so much and so have I, but I look forward to a whole new storyline direction and to be part of the new phase of wow seems to be starting for the next 20 years of the game’s life.
Majority of people never cares about story altes not to th extend that it would be any sort of meaingfull reason why they quit. Most people quit becouse of gameplay and bad systems which are still present in moder wow so.
Midnight is going to be cool, just based on the basic rules of a trilogy: It's still going to have the regular bits of story that any other story would, with a beginning, a struggle, and victory - But because this is the second story within a trilogy, it falls in the dark part of the larger storyline. The second part of any trilogy is typically like the end of anything else, but always with some kind of uncertainty because of where it lies within the bigger picture.

I think other MMO's need to take note of this. What people need is not quick hit stories, they need longer well crafted narratives that create and develop meaningful characters. These "this expansion is the only part game that matters" is hurting MMOs but having a longer lore based narrative that is intentionally crafted is as good as we can hope for.
I'll be honest it's kimda disapointing to defeat mythic Azshara which was ot easy... Only to have her as a boss years later. Tho I love the fact that her encounter is one of the few times when players actually lose story-wise
What if Xalatath is Alleria, but itsa timey-wimey thing, void being outside of time and space anyway. She torments her because she has to make sure that the transition happens. At her 3rd death.
WHAT IF, this is what everyone's been waiting on. Example being no real new planets or anything. But going back in and finishing content. Kinda like a modern day wow + things they've never finished and now are..
You may be “going home”.. but wow ain’t still not an mmo. It’s a glorified dungeon crawler you pay a monthly sub from. WoW needs a revamp. WoW2 needs to happen, if you ever want to make it good again. Otherwise you’ve to aim at retaining of what you got… but if something better comes along, you’re forever fragile to become completely irrelevant.
If they make it that Quel'thalas make nice with the Alliance and become neutral, honoring the history of their bonds in the past, I will go back for that expansion.
the only problem with this, is the titan watcher notes we find in dragonflight from the titan watchers mention there being an anomaly on the island, i would assume that's the crystal.
@@Nagria2112 I'm pretty sure shadow priests canonically get their power directly from the void. Xal'atath is an old god and if i remember correctly, you found out in legion that the blade Xal'atath was the reason for the forsaken having priests at all because they learned to wield the shadow priest powers from studying it and using it. Shadowlands is just the overall name of the realms of death, but they use death or necromantic magic which is its own type of magic
@@Nagria2112 Shadow refers to the power of the old gods and shadow priests (void) or the power of necromancers (death) and warlocks (disorder) Shadow is term used for any “negative” magic, and originally old gods and the void were separate forces. Later that was retconned

Since SMC, Eversong, and Ghostlands will likely be updated... I hope they do the same for Exodar, Azuremyst, and Bloodmyst soon also because I love those zones just as much.
I am so glad that I can finally watch WoW expansion videos and have zero interest in returning. After almost 17 years of constant coming back and hoping "It's all different now, right?", I can honestly say that the new content seems so bland, it does nothing for me. I am finally free.

I might be the only one thinking this but it'd be kind of cool if illidan just showed up leading the legion during our darkest hour. Maybe sargaeras could see what was going on from his prison and gave illidan the power to command his legion temporarily to stop the void from corrupting azeroth. I mean it'd be sick to see all these different forces converge and fight on azeroth at once. Would really show this as the big be all end all type of battle.
Lorewise it is absolute bs. But why would sargi have a change of heart? And how deep runs the anger between void and the legion? I dont think they are that afflicted with each other.
Then BE players might realise they are the baddies. Even the way Garithos treated them was caused by the HE abandoning Garithos' parents to die because they thought it distasteful that elves might die for humans. Or that the reason they largely ignored The Second War was that they were trying to slither unnoticed out of the Alliance. I really wish that the Horde as a whole would get a good dose of introspection and come to the realisation of, "Oh f---, WE ARE THE BADDIES!" Thrall's Horde is a good definition of "The road to hell is paved with good intentions," as the system of his Horde was based heavily on Fascistic ideology and, I hope the creators never realised that they had done this, made it an analogy of the Lost Cause myth complete with the anti-Semitic trope of dual loyalty. Blizzard would never do that as then the "We like to be morally grey" player base would wake the f--- up, smell the coffee and realise that the "morally grey" they like is a really Fascistic ideology and that by supporting it they are in fact pure evil and then they would be so mad. @@nielsjensen4185 The High Elves didn't leave Garithos' parents to die....it was just the stupidity of Garithos that took all the Alliance troops out of that village with him, so that when the Orcs came, they found no human guard defending the town and so they could kill every civilian in that village...but that's the fault of Garithos for leaving no human soldier around to protect his own parents, and then in order to find a scapegoat, he just projected his own blame onto the whole Quel'dorei race instead (and anyway, the High Elves were already busy defending Quel'thalas from the Horde, and so they couldn't protect Lordaeron too). Also, Void Elf lore will obviously be present alongside Blood Elf lore in Midnight, and about the Quel'dorei lore...well, if you mean not the lore of the whole race but only the lore of the High Elves who are in the Alliance, then they have pretty much been absorbed into the ranks of the Void Elves anyway...
Cool video, but I am so tired of "patch zones." Each patch zone makes the previous world utterly obsolete. I loved how the old world enhanced existing zones and made you go back to areas that you knew and loved instead of throwing them away.
Why does Xalatath need the crystal to be void? She can just absorb everything, using the dark heart? Just absorb all the energy, no need to corrupt the crystal? And why cant the 3rd death be Sylvanas? She died to Arthas. Died again later in Silverpine, to be rezz'd by the Valkyr. Then arguably got back her soul and "died", to be returned to eternal servitude to save those lost to the maw. Her 3rd death did usher in Dragonflight/TWW's story?

My thoughts on the sarkareth chamber......I look at the thing, and it almost looks like a sort of...shark cage? like maybe neltharion hadn't originally tried to use the old gods as a source of power, and instead tried to insert a research station into the void realm so as to get a 'pure' connection to the void, not realizing it only made himself more vulnerable to the old gods anyway.

I've been playing mainly classic since 2019 and I gotta say every time I log in to retail and I'm not in Stormwind it just feels weird, The only other place that I like as much as Stormwind is Dalaran, so what did they do they destroyed it.😒
I may actually come back to the game for this, I left after Burning Crusade, came back for Legion and left again near the end of that. My original main was a Blood Elf Paladin, I always really liked the Blood Elf zones and was put off that they never really expanded on it much beyond the Burning Crusade. I lost access to my original account and my original characters, Heck I can't even remember my Legion login now so I'll have to create yet another new account most likely, ah well.
I'm now just imagining Quel'thalas updated and beautiful as Suramar, maybe Silvermoon too while they're at it? That would be incredible. Great vid, always so much detail that answers questions and confuses me further lol
Hallowfall...we're told that's not the tip of sargeras sword, yea right. Look at all the ruins it looks like light and void have encased the sword tip cause they don't want sargeras to reach the world, so they eant it for different reasons, to protect it for those reason. Cmon man it looks like a sword tip. So far alleria has done nothing with us as void elves in the story. I was hoping our class would be important, like in the demon hunter class in legion. Can you find anything on what we will be doing in this expansion?
