Daniela (Dany) definitely has a unique voice. I love it! The Warning is the best rock and roll band on the scene today. You simply must see their live stuff. It's even better.
This video (Evolve) was my first exposure to The Warning last month. I've just begun my journey down the rabbit hole but it's been amazing so far. I haven't seen them play live but I've seen plenty of footage of their live shows, and yes...they are better live. Their energy feeds the crowd, and the crowd's energy goes right back to the band and it builds from there. They're all very driven, determined young women who strive to be their best individually and collectively. In their own ways, they are forces of nature and they won't be stopped. I haven't been this excited about rock music in decades (I'm 58), and I feel this band is on the cusp of superstardom. They're going to be huge.

The Warning are three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico that started making music very young Alejandra (Ale = Aleh, not the beer. Bass, backing vocals and keyboard, the youngest- 18) and Paulina (Pau = Pow. Drums, backing/lead vocals and keyboard, middle sister 21) at 3 and Daniela (Dany = Dany. Guitar, lead vocals and keyboard, the oldest 23) 5, all learning classical piano. They got the video game Rock Band and fell in love with the feeling of performing on other instruments. Their father asked if they wanted to learn another instrument and the girls jumped at the opportunity and gravitated to the instruments they played in Rock Band. They had been uploading their musical journey to RU-vid for their family to see and had wanted to try and play music together as a band around 2012 and started rehearsing for a small performance for their school xmas show. Well They loved the experience so much they began learning and playing cover songs of hard rock and metal bands. One song in particular shot them into the limelight. That song, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica had gone viral (currently over 22 000 000 views) and had gotten the attention of Metallica, Dee Snyder and The Ellen Show! The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! Ellen Degeneres invited the band to play live on her show, to which they accepted and played "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne, after the performance Ellen and Target awarded the sisters $10,000 each to attend Berklee School of Music in Boston, Ma. USA. They performed a number of small and large shows afterward and began writing and composing new material for their first full length album "XXI Century Blood" in 2017. They supported this album with some very high profile gigs like opening for Def Leppard and separately The Killers for two shows each in Mexico. Also following other large rock bands in a couple music festivals. In 2018 they wrote and recorded "Queen of the Murder Scene" and released it in November of that year and have toured Mexico and South American venues. In June of 2019 they released a single, "Narcisista". A scathing rebuke of their Mexican critics that had accused the band of being "Malinchista" a Mexican term used to call out cultural traitors, because the group has only recorded English language songs. Well this song is in Spanish and it is full of attitude and angst fired toward those critics. They have turned down offers from record labels and talent shows like American Idol because they did not want to lose their control of their music, image and wanted to focus on learning. In fact in one interview with a record label they were asked if they would rather play to 12 people or 12000. Paulina piped up and said The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant they would keep their integrity and could play the music they want to play, how they want to play... That is the most Rock n Roll quote ever! So after a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a North American tour and to record a new album achieving their goal within 24 hours and surpassing that goal by 600%. Unfortunately the Covid-19 Pandemic forced the band to cancel their tour plans and postpone making their album. Their last live show before the global lockdown was March 14 2020 at the Vive Latino 2020 Festival in Mexico City.This did not stop The Warning from performing though, they played a full concert set from their basement studio/rehearsal space for free for their fans on RU-vid and Facebook achieving well over 50,000 simultaneous viewers on March 25, 2020. They have since performed from The Warning Cave a couple more times including for the city of Brownsville, Tx. for the Fourth of July virtual celebration and later in the summer for a charity event with rock legends like Slash and Ringo Star. On August 9th 2020 The Warning announced to their Patreon community that after seven long months of negotiations they had signed a five record deal with Lava Records, a label under the Republic Records and Universal Music family. During the announcement they reiterated their dedication to their own creative integrity and dedicated fans on Patreon and were able to retain both in their record contract with Lava. In Sept of 2020 The Warning traveled to New Jersey, USA to begin rehearsal and eventually recording of their third album. After three months of recording and a month and a half of mastering, mixing and editing the third album was completed at the beginning of February, 2021. All that remains as of 22/02/21 is the album design and artwork and logistics of the release which will hopefully happen by the end of 2021. In March of 2021 The Warning was invited to cover a song from Metallica's eponymous 5th album (The Black Album) with Canadian Grammy and Juno award winning pop star Alessia Cara for Metallica's Blacklist album. A 30th anniversary celebration for the Metallica album. They selected to record Enter Sandman, a fitting song because it was this song that propelled The Warning 7 years previous into stardom. The Warning reimagined the song with Alessia and produced a fresh new feeling that goes above and beyond what others have done with the song... Great reaction! Happy that you loved it so much! Disciple official music video is worth a reaction! Their producer for this album is David Bendeth (quite a legend in the industry), and the drum sound is entirely a producer's choice.... not a side effect of singing at the same time (normally in a recording studio you overdub the vocals so you get both complete separation of sound and also so you can focus on your best performance of each thing you are doing). You could also react to this same song Evolve done in a Live Session (where they are in a record studio rehearsing how they will perform the songs live on tour, and they do vocals and instruments at same time for the actual recording you are hearing/seeing), and the mix/tone is very different simply as a result of not having the same producer and engineer combination, not to mention being an entirely different recording studio, and miked up for live rather than for a studio album (as the goals are different). Of course they also are less visual in it because they are focused on the sound, not the visual performance. You'll enjoy it!

Regarding the compression points , have a look at a live version that they did at Victoria record studios , and the harmonies are slightly more prominent in the mix .After that you could react to the other live songs from there , thanks man.

I think the overall objective of this song was something like: let's turn Pau loose on the drums. I don't think she played the same fill twice during the course of the song. Ale is the secret weapon in a lot of ways. She is able to fill in a lot of what might be produced from a rhythm guitarist in the band. That allows Dany much more flexibility in playing lead. Plus, having the three voices adds to the sonic fullness of the group.

If the drums on the music video sound compressed, then you should check out 3 songs that The Warning has released live from a concert at Teatro Metropolitan cdmx from August last year. Animosity, Enter Sandman ( their version) and Disciple. If you were impressed by the drummer(Pau) in this song, then you should check out Dust to Dust from Lunario or Whisky a gogo venues. This is the studio version of this song so there are no problems with bleed from Pau’s vocal mic to the drums as they were recorded separately. I’m sure it’s just the current fashion in production to compress everything in the mix. Not one that I personally like but you have to give up something when you sigh with a major so it’s a choice that I can live with. It’s also why a lot of us prefer the live versions of these songs, partly because of the more dynamic mix but also because the band perform amazingly on stage. You have to look at one of their newer live performances. ‘Disciple’ live in CDMX (Mexico City) is a good starting point.
Next time pick a LIVE track from amongst their latest releases from Teatro Metropolitan and have your 🤯 the rest of the way. My suggestion is Disciple or Animosity. Paulina does many lead vocals check our Survive at the Ted X talk she even breaks a stick with out skipping a beat 💓 but all three ladies are amazingly talented and became one of my favorite bands 😊
The Warning is one of the best rock bands ever. Very professional playing, great melodies and energy. Never heard a band like this before. These young women have a bright future ahead of them.
While this was a video, not a recording (I think with the official audio), they can keep up the intensity for a full hour with no breaks. They are amazing live performers. Check out Pau's vocals on "Dust to Dust". Also, their collaboration with Alessia Cara doing "Enter Sandman" (First song on the "BlackList" album of Metallica covers).
Ale the bass player is often overlooked she does not sing lead often because she does not like to. There are a number of videos though of her singing lead when Dany needs to rest her voice. She wrote her first song which is on their first EP when she was 9. She signed with Spector bass when she was 13. They made her her own bass when she was 15. For the last few years she has been their featured artist on their website. Her sisters call her the backbone of the band saying she has never been out of time
I first discovered The Warning back in mid 2015 when they were literally children doing covers and their father was posting videos of them on you tube for friends and family to see the girls progress. It has been well over seven years since I saw a video of them doing a cover of Metallicas Enter Sandman and have not missed a single day since in which I have listened to or watched a video of these amazing young sisters. In my 63 years of life I have never been so into a band as I am these young ladies. They are simply in a class of their own as no two songs sound alike. They exhibit a very wide range of “styles” in their music, yet at the same time have created a unique and distinct sound that is unmistakably their own. I believe it is impossible for them to produce a bad song. I have been saying for many years now that they would one day be known world wide and be recognized as one of, if not the greatest power trio of all time. If you continue down this rabbit hole I believe you will agree that they are well on their way to bringing that prediction to fruition. Mark my words, these sisters will without a doubt sell out arenas, stadiums, and be invited to headline the biggest music festivals the world has to offer. Dude, this wasn't played live, it's the album track on top of a music video. If you don't like the compression of the drums you can take that up with the producer of the album, David Bendeth who is a world class producer (look him up). If you want to hear them live, and I suggest you do that, you'll hear what the drums sound like live.

The Warning are currently ages 23, 21 and 18 and are working on their 4th album of all original songs. They are awesome story tellers using their own unique style of rock which has an infectious sound. I am a proud patreon for The Warning and for one other young musical artist, Angelina Jordan who is a self taught jazz vocalist who has sung in at least 10 different genres. Angelina's genius arrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody" was loved by the surviving members of Queen so much, they posted a link to it on their Twitter AND allowed Angelina to copyright her version. Greetings from the west coast of Canada. Thanks for the reaction. I suggest you get a few more of their “current” songs under you belt. The Warning Army will show up in droves to support you and the girls. At that point, I think you should react to ( or at least watch) the entire 2017 TedX concert ( 19 minutes or so). They were 16,14 and 12 years old at the time. They play three songs and talk about their musical journey between each. The Warning has approximately 2,300 patrons on the Patreon application, the most, by a wide margin, of any band producing original music in the entire Patreon platform. I believe the way they present themselves at that concert is a large part of the reason they have so many avid supporters. You often hear reactors to their music speak of being proud, or taking pride in their accomplishments. Both are terms I’ve never heard used in relation to other bands.

Super reaction Nico! The Villarreal Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers from Mexico who live in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards. Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards. Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND"; and it is amazing. Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020. They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track! The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (civil engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English speaking school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 23, 21 and 18 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #46 original songs. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. I had the opportunity to meet with them 2 more times during the 6 shows I attended on their recent North American MAYDAY Tour. Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans. Backing vocals weren't recorded at the same time the drums were so has nothing to do the way they compresed the drums but i agree they sound kind of "dry"... But you should check this song out live maybe the mtv video would be great. Cheers.
