The great thing about The Warning is that every time they write a song the listener gets two songs for one. There's the polished studio version and then you get the raw live version!
@@raiderfan346 If you watch closely you'll see a lot of really cool moments that were captured by the girls entourage or even the fans. There's a video of them playing in Phoenix in 2021 I think and during the "Mayday, Mayday" segment of Animosity, the fans are really singing along with Dany and you can tell she wasn't expecting the American Crowd to know the words, and her expression of absolute blissful happiness is something I will never forget and it really propelled me down this rabbit hole. She actually forgets to keep performing for just a moment, and then her and Pau look like they are gonna explode to the moon with joy, but of course Ale is a stone cold killer and never reveals her emotions, and Pau kind of makes a little face at her which pokes fun at her stony gaze in the face of such a wonderful moment. There are more moments like this scattered all over their online history and they honestly provide the best content, they are just a joy to experience. We need more DPA's all over the world!
@@montrealcrew1528 There is constant visual interaction between them, probably more so between Pau and Ale because they aren’t as front and centre as Dany all the time so can slip in some interactions while all the focus is on big sis.
Agreed. I’ve actually been saying for years I want to learn Spanish, Narcicista and especially Martirio convinced me to finally commit. That song is so beautiful.
I bet you Dany was super proud of this one. Apparently Pau tried pretty hard to talk her into lowering the key due to the challenging range of the song, but Dany committed to this key, and nails it (I assume) every night. I hope she feels that pride after every performance.
When I heard this song and Evolve for the first time, it made me feel like I haven't felt about music in literal decades. I was 16 when I first heard Flirtin With Disaster by Molly Hatchet and It literally changed something in me. Now at 60 years old these young ladies have done it to me again. So glad you're continuing on this road and glad to say you sound a lot better today!
I remember seeing that album cover and thinking, “What is THIS?!!” Then you put the album on the turntable and within the first 3 notes you think, “Yeah. THIS is gonna be GOOD!”
My two cents on your Sick blowback; Long term fans like myself who know their entire catalog from the beginning until today have watched them progress every step of the way. We wait with anticipation for new material to see where they’ll go next. There is so much talent bottled up in them, they want to explore what they’re capable of. They will never rest on past achievements, they will explore new ground and always push forward. That might alienate some of their fanbase as it attracts new ones. As for me, I’m in for the long haul journey and can’t wait for the new album. I would much rather be shocked and surprised than hear them put themselves in a box of the same thing again and again. Also, everyone of their official music videos are completely different in style. The girls are artists, they don’t paint the same masterpiece twice.
Well said Randy. Anyone who thinks they can put these ladies in a box and always do the same thing. Not going to happen. They are far to talented, and dare I say young to not evolve.
It's good to see you feeling better. Choke seems to be the perfect song to describe, and cure you of what you were going through a few days ago. As for The Warning this 75 year old has needed his daily dose of TW ever since stumbling into their 2017 TEDx and being introduced to that wild thing Pau.
You would probably like their 2917 ted talk where they talked about becoming a band to a calm academic audience and played threer songs the third song Survive turned into a rightous jam session and brought the audience to its' feet in true Warning form. David
They were made for the stage. Dany has even said so herself. One of The Warning Patrons has for a long time, Gman, called them a studio-quality live band. They have a great knack for writing songs that translate well with either delivery.
They did another "live" version of this, along with Z, Animosity, and Evolve, in a studio during lockdown when they couldn't play anywhere, if you're looking for another version. But that Teatro version is the peak for me, as it is for most of the songs in that show.
This is my favorite from the "Error" album. It's straight forward, and hard-hitting. A lot like early Black Sabbath. Glad you did the mv. Most skip the mv's if they have seen the song live. They produced these videos for us. They put a lot of time, effort, and money into making them. They played this song 26x to get all of the camera shots. Afterwards, Paulina couldn't raise her hands above her head to wash her hair. Alejandra was suffering from vertigo the time. She had extensive oral surgery a few weeks prior. She also had to miss a trip to LA with Dany and Pau because her doctor said she couldn't fly. Her mom would know as she is a dentist. Also, the pool crew videoed until 5:30 the following morning. The girls were going to watch some of the pool recording but were too tired. Everyone pushes "live, live, live, live" but these are also their creative output and expressions. Thanks for putting in the time & effort to put them on your channel. 😎👍
This is one of the songs they did a live session for at Victory Studios as well imo its the best of both. You see them play it in real time all in one take and the mix is perfect. Especially Ales bass and vocals.
@@jmgpptt I think DPA are like informational sponges - they absorb everything so they can mix and match what they like for their music and art. So, I think last year they decided to see what it was like to work with other writes/producers to learn and then going forward they'll just do what they think is best.
@@victorycastin case you haven’t seen this, take a look at Ale playing the bass like is nothing, the way how she moves her fingers on both hands!!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qxs0m7GTBh0.htmlsi=3JElrWDPo32JNPhu
Thinking back to when I watched the live debut of Choke… it was their first new music in a couple years. Everything was delayed because of the pandemic. When it dropped it shocked TWA. The composition. Their mature appearance, truly breathtaking. Dany’s soaring vocals. What ever breath left in the lungs, we were left gasping. You know what? Choke wasn’t their pick for the first release. It wasn’t their favorite from the Error album. So far, I have loved every song they’ve written. I have zero expectations that they’ll conform, emulate a single genre, and become formulaic. They will constantly surprise because they embrace their creative journey and they’re really just starting out. As long as I am on this earth I will listen and enjoy. I’m into my sixth decade on the planet beginning today. Happy Birthday Pau! TWA for life.
I feel the same, and not just this one but dull knifes and several others by them best I’ve ever heard thanks for putting on a reaction even though you’re not feeling well. Hope you feel better.
For me, both versions have merit. The energy of a live show can’t be duplicated in a studio cut. Likewise, the clarity, quality and artistic touches of a studio version are unable to be replicated in a live show.
Another parallel with my all-time favorite band Rush. Like Rush, this band is built for the stage. They are an amazing live band. They play off each other and feed off the crowd. Their live versions are always the best.
They will be ..you have to remember they have only been touring 2 years after Covid ..like real touring ..those other bands took several years to really take off and being from Mexico didn’t give the exposer they needed…it’s coming
When they were starting their careers they said no to several large companies, including Disney. (the first two albums were released independently). So they know well what they want and where they are going. Maybe you should watch one of the mini documentaries, like the one about tidal rising, or one of the many aftermoovies where you see them as they really are. humble, focused and super friendly.🤘⚡🤘⚡🤘⚡
I really like the live version of Choke and think it's so much better than the OMV. I have read that all the vocals on the music video are Dani, layered. The live version, for me, has that unicorn moment when Ale goes solo vocals. The contrast of her voice alone is ear candy. Take care and get well quickly.
I think that when the dust settles and TW have gained the huge following worldwide that they deserve, new people will discover the ERROR album. Maybe it will be re-released, IDK. But it deserved to be a lot more popular than it has been to this point. It's like a greatest hits album, honestly. And very few bands have ever released a collection of songs that could claim that and those bands who have are legends.
Ale had just had dental surgery, and was experiencing vertigo during this video shoot. Explains why she's not singing her usual 'let me drown' vocal part.
The song is a studio recording, so it's not about when the video was shot but when the song was recorded. Dany can't pull off singing the lines Ale does live because there is overlap in the vocals.
Cant wait until, you get to Dull Knives. Animosity. Martirio. There’s a bunch of stuff that will just blow you away. Queen of the Murder Scene concept…. Which is crazy because they were just young teenagers when they put that together. These three ladies will rule for a long time.
Another great idea for a two-fer is their 2019 song Narcisista. The band's Mexican critics had been accusing the girls of being cultural traitors because they only wrote their lyrics in English. A then 17-year old Pau wrote the band's first song in Spanish in response - and in defense of herself and her sisters. Rather than wait to include the song on their next album, they recorded it immediately and released it as a standalone single. They debuted their new song in their hometown, and recorded the show. Pau delivers a stunning performance, singing with conviction, with her lyrics projected on a screen behind her to make sure that her response to those critics was clear. Pau is fearless, and the song and performance are a highwater mark for the band for me. That performance is on their channel, called "Narcisista - Live at Foro Didi in Monterrey". Pair it up the Teatro version, which has a much more celebratory tone to it compared to the disdain that poured from Pau in 2019, and is very special and unique for a very different reason. It's something you've not seen from Pau yet, in any way. She still has lots of surprises to come.
@@awadoma2702yes, not sure why all the stupid fans keep insisting only Pau writes the songs. No matter how many times you tell them they keep lying & spreading false rumor. I used to think Ale & Pau are good and Dany should leave the band because she was ok but the more I watch them, it feels like Dany is underrated and the best one out of the 3. Oh and Pau fans are the worst.
@@victorycastplease know the song was written by all 3 of them and their mom. Pau doesn’t write the songs herself. Dany wrote the amazing guitar licks and riffs and solo and all 3 of them wrote the lyrics with the help of their mom. It wasn’t just Pau. False information
Just subscribed. I always look forward to your reactions. I think my favorite songs were all produced by David Bendeth. (Not over produced) Can't wait to see this band live. I want to see your reaction to their performance of the song Evolve on the MTVs VMA where they just literally killed it and brought Rock music back to that show!! Might change how you feel about that song. Hope you get better and look forward to your next reaction!.
I do agree to the Choke . Sick comparison different legue which i think comes from it being a colab from a writing trip to LA . . . Their early stuff is awesome . . Anything from the Teatro met are great and the lunario met for the Queen of the Muder Scene concept album which needs to be listened to in order . . . Great reaction . Till the next one . . Take care . . 🍻🇳🇿👍
I got to M/G last August in Indy, and gave them a gift and they are the sweetest nicest people, didn't get to meet there parents but they are the same, It has made me try to be a better person also👍
So glad to see you so enthusiastic again !! When I saw you enjoy the studio version that much, I couldn't help but think "wait to hear the vocal harmonies and Ale's solo part in the live one" 😍 The girls are well surrounded with their parents and Rudy, so I think they will stay down to earth as they are now. When you see them in their vlogs or their livechats, they seem to be really aware that they are living a dream, but at the same time very grounded and perfectly knowing that it's the result of years of hard work. They love what they do, it shows, they do it well, and that's why so many people are willing to support them. They stay true to who they are
I glad you are feeling better. This video is one of the first I saw of the Waning and it had me hooked on the band. Yes there is a night and day difference between this song/videos than the Sick video. .
Yes, this is one of the first 5 songs I had heard from them and you can see how I fell down the rabbit hole and have never come back. I’ve been listening to rock of all sorts all my life too, but I’ve never heard anything like these ladies. (I missed the whole Sick debacle so I won’t even go there.) This is how it’s done.
One day, when you listen to Queen Of The Murder Scene, start to finish, created when they were 13, 16 and 18, you'll truly see what level they're on. It stands with The Wall and Tommy.
Dude I’ve seen them live 3-times in 2022-23 in smaller venues and disregarding any of the videos they have made to certain songs they sound in my opinion as good live, if not better, than the recordings! Much love from West Virginia, USA! ❤
Great reaction This was the first song I ever heard by The Warning and blew me away this was the beginning of my addiction to The Warning This band is absolutely spectacular 🔥🔥🔥🔥ROCK ON THE WARNING 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Love the band, liked your reaction to Sick and liked your reaction to Choke. As I said before, you sir are a real reactor. No B.S., just a love for what you feel is good music. Feel all the way better!! Long live The Warning!
I think you are about ready to check out their two songs in their native language. "Narcisista" & "Martirio". Narcisista would work as a two for tuesday, they did something a bit special for it on the teatro metropolitan show so you could watch a regular live version first (En Vivo en Foro... is a good one) then watch the Teatro metropolitan version.
With The Warning, the last one seems like the best one. My favorite is “MARTIRIO” live. There’s a video too in case you want to compare but this song is in Spanish. It still kicks butt regardless of the language.
There is also a "live session" version of CHOKE where they performed live in a studio, with audio in one take and additional takes to get all the camera angles. In my opinion, the live session recordings show their attitude but not the energy of performing live in front of a crowd.
Just finished my second run-thru of your reaction (to the song that introduced me to them). Dany's little smile (smirk?) after the intro let's you know something special is coming, and wow, did she deliver! The value of the OMV, as great as it is, is that you are floored by how good they are live! How easy they make it seem, and how, especially in this live performance, you begin to believe, for me, they are the BEST 3-piece band on the Planet!
I love how the intro is so understated, and leaves a first time viewer going "What...?", then there's the smirk that lets you know that some fury's about to get released.
Another absolutely amazing song is "When I'm Alone" , Live at The Teatro Metropolitan, written by Dany when she was only 15 years old. It was written as a music class project overnight. An emotional song, especially for someone in a weak state of mind, but powerful. Dany delivers it like only she can. Everything is matched perfectly with great separation of instruments yet powerful as one.
Great reaction. The girls are pulling off a genius move with the new songs like More and Sick. They have the hard rock fans already in love with them and will only add more fans with the new songs. I have never seen them live, but in the future I bet it will be a mix of old and new fans ranging in age 5 to 85! Gotta ❤ The Warning!
I get it! I understand your point of view and i share your thought about 'Sick'! It could have been a hard rock bomb, but it leaned towards a more mainstream sound, losing some of its rawness and, to some extent, its soul! Keep it up, honest and straightforward... that's how reactions should be, more authentic!
As i said before, wait for the professional recording of the live version of Sick (Pepsi Center) . With More was the same case and the live version in the WMAs had a more rock sound. It was probably a decision by them that the studio sound was different this time to the live version by reasons only know to them
I like so much the song. I would have much preferred it without voice and instrument compressions, but it's a great song and the girls are really taking off now... I wouldn't be surprised to start hearing it on the radio and/or in commercials!@@gabrielalbertocastillomarq6120
Glad you’re feeling a little better Rob. Choke had its world premiere on 5/21/21, and I remember feeling that it was the best music video that I had ever seen. For context, I’ve been a rock fan since the mid-60s. I was lucky to get invited a week later to a record store in Studio City, CA (a few miles from my house!) where they broadcast a live performance of Choke from their basement. Matt Pinfield interviewed them from the record store which was really cool since we got to ask questions directly to the band. To my surprise, just a week later, I got a notification from Dany that they were going to be at the same record store in a few hours to do a longer interview with Matt. Ale didn’t make the trip since she just had some wisdom teeth removed, but got to see Pau and Dany (as well as Luis and Rudy). It’s almost impossible to pick favorites from this band, but for me the song and video for Martirio, instantly became my all time fave. I totally respect your opinion on Sick, but so far out of the almost 50 original songs that they’ve released, I just love them all. ✌️❤️🔥
Nice reaction. I really enjoy the official video vs. Live concept. If you havent seen it yet, i wouldnt mind this done with "Martirio". Song is sung in Spanish and is beautiful.
Rob - I can't believe I missed this one. Going back through your older vids after watching Satisfied live reaction I couldn't remember watching this one (and I was right). This is probably my favorite reaction of yours for any band - not because its DPA, but because your comments and feelings mirror my own, and because KMF leaves me with mixed feelings. Yes the video is damn good, well made, mixed and produced but the live performance is next tier. And Ale . . . her voice is mesmerising (on the video you don't see anyone singing that part - its just there) and watching her sing it creates an almost ethereal quality to the track that further brings the listener in. I get why it is your favorite track (we discussed this in another video reaction) - whereas I'm more for their ballads and acoustics. But it is in my top 3 of their rock tracks (for a variety of reasons) and the live version cements it solidly in my top 10 tracks from any band. For me, their live versions are superior across the board EXCEPT for Automatic Sun - that is the first studio version that I prefer (by the slimmest of margins) over their live (MTV Push is the only live version I've heard of quality). And I do understand your opinion of Sick - for me its OK for what it is. But definitely not at the level of Choke, Disciple and Evolve. Anyways, that's my musings - cheers from OZ mate 🦘
I love the Warning I have been a fan since day one, I love their in your face rock, to me More and Sick drifted away from this I understand bands experiment with new sounds I just hope the new album is more like the sound that made me fall in love with them, love the Warning and it's Army!
I would highly suggest you do a video and live reaction of Martirio. I think you will be stunned by the fact that it rivals their performance of Choke, especially the incredible video. It is in Spanish but as you will see if anything that fact makes it even better.
Hell ya! This OMV of Choke was my very first exposure to The Warning. I was an instant fan and have never looked back. I'm not easily impressed but the ladies had me at the one minute mark in the vid. Yes, yes, yes! This is the way to make a video. This IS The Warning! Oh man, do a reaction to Martirio. You won't be sorry. Again, I'm right there with ya. Get well! Editing to agree with you that I can't choose. The ladies are live performance monsters. Thanks for doing both. (Subbed)⚡⚡⚡
If you get some time watch a few of their 2023 tour aftermovies (from a playlist on their YT channel) and you'll see that off stage they're friends and coequals with each other as well as everyone in their extended road crew.
When the studio video was released, a very well-known reactor summed it up when he said the three young prodigies are no longer prodigies, they are rock stars.
Rob, thanks for that fun reaction! Happy to see you sounding better for a short time at least and enjoying this! I think for many of us recent fans, Choke was the first video that I’d seen and I raved like you (without the coughing). Definitely one of their best but there are more great ones from this same concert (that you haven’t seen yet), like Animosity, Kool-Aid Kids and others. A really fun one is Survive. Not the heaviest but they have a blast playing it and you could 2fer it with their performance from their TedX talk in 2017. This was fun!
Love your honest reactions. Also, don't forget to react to "Martirio", "Survive" and "23", all from the same concert you did before, the one at "Teatro Metropolitan CDMX" since this concert has the best sound quality. Keep doing these reactions, you're of the few that don't over react and is actually honest with his reactions.
Glad you loved Choke. You mentioned narcissist. May I suggest their single Narcisista which they came out with just before the pandemic. There’s no music video but the most original reknown live performance is at Foro DiDi where pau sings behind the kit but there’s also the Teatro show where she put on her Jagger hat and has her drum mentor behind the kit. Perhaps you can do those two. The song is one of two which they do in Spanish but that really doesn’t matter. Martirio from ERROR is the other song. Perhaps both of those could be in the hopper for reactions. ⚠️⚡️⚡️⚡️
@@RussInCanada Well he could hear how it sounds originally like if was a music video then at Teatro which has crowd interaction and shows how much of a showwoman she is. I think watching Pau drum and sing without a hitch never stops to amaze no matter how often I’ve seen it before. Just like the one drum fill in Disciple at Teatro as well. Always a FWOW moment for me.
