to be clear, there is not anything wrong with their music videos, it is just amazing seeing these ladies rock out and engage with the audience great reaction my friend.
The guitar was a gift from Lzzy Hale. TW toured with Halestorm in 2022. Lzzy had it specially made for Dany, then walked out on stage during TW's set and gave it to her. You can find videos of that happening on RU-vid and a few interviews where Lzzy talks about it.
Either I got something wrong or it's not quite right what you're saying. Lzzy didn't make this guitar for Dany. She got it as a gift from another artist on the condition that if someone young comes along with a lot of talent who impresses her, she should pass on the guitar. She found this talent in Dany, and she said the same thing to her. If Dany finds someone one day, she should pass the guitar on.
@@TomTomson81 Another artist gave Lzzy a guitar, not this guitar, early on, with the instruction that she should pay it forward. As she is now a Gibson brand ambassador, she had this guitar made (or found) for Dany.
and t heard from several creators that when The Warning opened the first time for Halestorm, Lzzy turned to her band and said "Boys, we have to practice!" ... 🤣🤣🤣
@@belegur8108 There's actually an interview here in youtube during in a festival here in the states, where Lzzy herself tells this story. how cool, uh?
The fact that they arranged and recorded this in under 10 days still blows me away, the pressure of coming up with your own version of such an iconic song had to be insane! The Warning truly have no limits! Awesome reaction!
I love your reactions! 😍 Very authentic and genuine. Just like you, I experienced similar feelings when I discovered the Warning. As a Mexican woman who enjoys rock and good music, I never imagined that the day would come when I would proudly say that my favorite rock band is from my own Country 🥹🇲🇽! Viva The Warning ⚡️⚡️⚡️! Just like everyone else suggested, react to all their songs. Live or music videos, they’re amazing. However, you can feel the “energy” more when they play live. I would suggest: - Evolve Live at the MTV VMAs (or their original music video). -Choke (original music video) - 23 Live at Metropolitan - Survive at TED Nevada - Martirio (original music video) or metropolitan Live - Error music video - UGH live at metropolitan - Queen of the murder scene live at metropolitan - Money - Dull knives live at metropolitan And anything you want 😉 -
I truly appreciate the comment and kind words. So far, I'm loving what I'm hearing from them. I will definitely continue down this road. Thank you so much for your support! 🙏 ❤️😊
They are one of the only bands on the blacklist album that actually did their own version of Enter Sandman and apparently Metallica loved it. I would love to see them open for them.
They were selected to contribute a reimagined version of a song from the Black album for the 30th Anniversary collection titled Blacklist. The only absolute requirements was that they used the original lyrics. They joined with Alessia Cara in the effort (you can hear her vocal in the harmony fromt he backing track). In the studio version, she and Dany alternate the lead vocal. I think they were one of the few contributing artists to follow the instructions. Metallica approved of their efforts. I think it's closer to Metallica's original vision of making it a lullaby, and a rather creepy one at that. That they accomplished the composition from the invite to completed. mixed song in about 10 days is even more remarkable. Dany's white Gibson Explorer that she uses on this song was a gift from Lzzy Hale, presented to Dany in Irving, Texas when TW was opening for Halestorm. It is factory customized specifically for Dany with a thinner neck and special pick-ups. It's likely worth something north of $6500.
Yep, this cover is absolute genius. It's instantly recognizable as Enter Sandman while being completely different. Dany starts out single picking notes for the first verse, then switches to power chords for the 2nd.. building tension, then fall back to the very soft prayer part before building up again with the double time and then the iconic riff at the end. Add in Dany's growls and all the harmonies and it's just an amazing cover. And Lars WISHES his snare sounded this good! lol
I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Dany very sweetly puts you to bed, then rouses the troops, shares a little prayer, and the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the Sandman tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one.
I couldn’t begin to count the number of times I watched the original song on MTV back in the day”Olden days” but this now IS Enter Sandman for me. No question about it.
Your reaction to the final riff is the genius of this version. There are several layers of building tension and release until we get that final searing riff. I cannot think of any cover done better.
To ad a little to what Elgon posted. Metallica Ask the artist to feel free to turn the songs upside down or turned around. That is just what The Warning did. The opening lines " take my hand" are the closing lines of the original. And as you pointed out the ending is the beginning. Metallica liked it so much they choice it as the opening song on the album. Great reaction ! Glad to have you as a part of the Warning Army . As you get to know more about these three amazing sisters you will come to realize that not only are they great musicians . They are also great human beings .
The real reason why it was first is almost surely more prosaic. All of the songs on the Blacklist are in order of the Black Album (where Enter Sandman was first), and within each song, in order of artist name, and Alessia Cara was the headline name (Alessia Cara with The Warning). This is a very logical way to organize it. I certainly agree that the Blacklist saves the best for first, but I doubt very much that it represents a judgment on the part of Metallica.
Dany really channels her inner James Hetfield with this live performance and their more straight up cover from 2014. The Dany stank face is now infamous amongst the TWA. TW certainly have a beautiful relationship with this song over the years. I really enjoy your joy in discovering and learning TW. It’s definitely a worthwhile pursuit. Take Care!
You can see it on their faces that they love to play this song. Ale gets that little grin on her face as she blows our faces off with her bass in that first verse. Amazing.
So by now (2 hrs) many have explained this song and how it cam to be with Metallica, and Alessia Cara. One thing many leave out is that this song is part of a huge charity event, and all 50 artists that contributed a song to the Blacklist LP also donate the funds made from their songs to those charities setup by Metallica. People complain that they want this song removed from their setlist because it's a cover song to them. I say BAH Humbug to them all. This is a Re-imagined version that they creatively made, and they are doing it for charity on all their shows around the world. If doing that helps even one person survive the pitfalls of life, than it is worth it. They are giving, and some people rather take. Bah!
These ladies are incredible I've been obsessed since I heard Disciple which blew my mind when I saw this cover and learned the back story I melted. Pure class to close the song out with the iconic riff as show of respect for Metallica. You'll find their harmonies act as a 4th instrument jump in it's a fun slide down this rabbit hole. Thanks for reacting to TW. 🤘⚡🔥
Live is always best but their videos are amazing as well. This songs video is awesome with Alessia, XXI Century Blood is an award winning MUST see, Disciple rivals their live show, and Martirio … OMG Martirio. Incredible.
Glad you like it. I'm at work or I'd find something to ramble on about, but you're in good hands, TWA will fill you in. For many this has become the 2nd 'official' version. There are now two official versions of Enter Sandman.
They did the collaboration cut, mastered, mixed redid the music in a weeks time in order to meet the deadline shows you how accomplish these ladies are at their craft
Like yourself I had been a big Metallica fan growing up. They'd been my favorite band for over 30 years. And then came along The Warning. Money was the first song I heard from them, then Evolve and I was already hooked at that point. In the suggested videos following Evolve, there was Enter Sandman so of course I put that on next and definitely wasn't ready for the experience. Not only did they make it their own and completely re-imagine it, but they made it eerie and more like the lullaby it was originally intended to be. To say I was blown away is an understatement and right then and there, this band took the top spot of my favorite band over Metallica. There hasn't been a day since that I've haven't listened to TW and I just don't get tired of it!
I've watched this performance probably a few dozen times now. Their first cover of this song was about 10 years ago, when Aly the bass player was 9, Pau the drummer was 11 and Dany the guitarist and lead singer was 13, they posted it on RU-vid so their grandparents could see them performing. They did a cover during COVID that Metallica liked with Alessia Cara that is included on the Black Album of covers. This one is their own and it kicks major ass. Check out their 2 songs from the MTV VMAs. One is a new song "More" and the other one of their best "Evolve".
Nemophila another great band. I’ve seen The Warning live now I want to see Nemophila. If the Warning come around my area again I will see them for my 4th time.
You have gone down a rabbit hole you can't get out of now. 😂 I agree that their live performances are great. One song and video you should definitely check out is 21st Century blood. The song in my opinion is probably their best one when it comes to lyrics. Not sure what the ages were but pretty young. I believe Ali may have been only 13. For them to write a song like this at their age is pretty impressive.
Metallica loved this version so much they put it as the first song on their Blacklist album. Just a note that the 'whoa whoa whoa' chorus part was Alessia Cara on backing track. Alessia Cara collaborated with them on this song and it shows. An amazing song cover. Great reaction.
Ale (Alejandra)🎸🎤+ Pau (Paulina)🥁🎤+ Dany (Daniela)🎤🎸 Villarreal. Three talented Mexican sisters. !!!🎵ole ole ole oleeee Warning Warning🎵¡¡¡. Greetings from Argentina.
chills... nuthin' but chills on chills... every damned time! 😹 DPA/TW and Alessia Cara certainly understood the assignment! they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... this was done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original "Black" album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the "Black" album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 "The Metallica Blacklist" album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice. the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale and Pau join in with their angelic harmonies... it is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of *Enter Sandman* but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
They did a great version of Metallica Atlas Rise . it's on the playlist..lots of cool covers when they were kids..Now it's lot's of exciting originals..Enter Sandman 2014 started it all.check it out..TWA🤟🎶☮️
Smoked me a join before watching the video and I almost had a heart attack too intense, and beautiful at the same time my senses couldn't take that overload of emotions it made me cry damn, these ladies are out of this world god bless the music of rock and roll, thank you lord thank Jesus !! 😮😮😮😮😎😎😲😲😲🤔🤔🤔🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
😊 The Canadian pop star Alesia Cara remotely partnered with The Warning to crossover into the Metallica dimension during Covid lockdowns Alesia in Canada, The Warning in Mexico. Composed, recorded and submitted in a 10 day deadline to Metallica for the Blacklist Album charity project. Alessia’s voice is the 4th you can hear layered You can see her ghostly image in the original music video. Worthy of viewing She participated live with the three sisters for a Troubador concert 😊
Well this reaction was a little easier to watch than the last one where you totally simped out. A couple things, Alessia Cara was approached by Metallica's management to record a cover for the Blacklist album but she had no idea where to start or how she would even make a cover because she is a pop artist. She share an international talent agent with The Warning who then suggeted she team up with them. With only a little over a week and during the Covid lock down they recorded Alessia's part and reaaranged the song to what it is now. The other thing is Dany's guitar, Lzzy Hale became aware of The Warning through an online concert that was put together at the beginning of Covid to raise funds for small recording acts and venues affected bythe Covid Lockdown called De[Tour]. Lzzy was so impressed by that one song, Dull Knives(Cut Better) by The Warning that during her interview she stated she wanted to your with them... Fast forward a couple years and that tour takes place with The Pretty Reckless and some other female or female fronted bands though out the late spring and summer and fall of 2022. During The Warning's set in Austin Tx Lzzy surprised Dany by walking out on stage during a guitar change and presented Dany with that white Gibson Explorer. Lzzy had got Dany's preferred guitar spec's from Dany's guitar tech and went to Gibson to find and customize that Explorer. A really cool Rock n Roll moment. The funny thing is, Dany thought the guitar was just a loaner for that performance but Lzzy stated it was Dany's guitar and the only payment she wants is for some day when Danyfings a young guitaris tthat she finds inspirational she pay it forward and gidts a great guitar...
I think you need to their music videos as well. They bring their artistic flair to the visuals and studio recordings have their merits. But the live performances are where the ladies shine. Keep 'em coming!
Go back and watch them perform when they were kids. They have an Enter Sandman cover from ten years ago too, but you should check out "Survive" from their Ted Talk as teenagers.
They’re an amazing band and even better live. All their music is so good! You should listen to their live version of Metallica’s Atlas Rise at the Whiskey. It’s really good 🤘🏻
Yep its perfect! I've listened to this cover countless times: still blows my mind. What they did a couple of weeks ago at the MTV awards was out of this wold. I hope you get to react to those two songs as well. Saludos desde Valencia ✌️
The Warning did 2 shows last month with a string symphony section backing them onstage for this and a couple of other songs. In my opinion the string version is the 5th version they have done of the song.
This is the version they sent with Alessa Cara for the Metallica Black album when they asked them to submit a version for the album Enter Sandman was the video that got The Warning on the map when they were real young and covered it and why Metallica wanted them to have a version on the album
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words. I sincerely try to be as honest as possible when I react. And I kid you not, The Warning has never disappointed me.
You should know The Warning's first ever video on RU-vid was in 2014 when Dani(guitar) was 14,Pau(drums) was 12 and Ale(bass) was 9. They did Enter Sandman as a pure cover to send to their grandparents. That video went viral and spawned their development. Check it out.
Thanks for the reaction! Can’t add to what has already been said, just want to help your algorithm!!! Did enjoy your reaction and will be waiting for the next one!!😊⚡️
i won't overwhelm you with info as i can see the Warning Army is showing up on your channel now and they will inform the crap out of you lol just glad i could point you to this new adventure
Great reaction! I always appreciate a reaction to this video from a former metalhead. I just ran into your channel and I look forward to viewing all of your Warning reactions. This one was awesome!!!
TWA!🤘 They are genius. They completely reimagined the song. Keeping the lyrics. They started at the end of the original and end with the main riff. There is no comparison to these ladys.❤
The Warning arguably understood the assignment for the Blacklist album better than any of the other artists. IMO, waiting until the outtro to play the main riff was brilliant…anticipation never felt so good and the pay off is worth the wait.
I read somewhere that TW asked permission to make this version and Metallica said do as you wish and they made it their own!!! Someone said they performed it with a small orchestra and it is bad to the Bone ❤❤❤❤❤😊
They came up with this re-imagining of the song at Metallica's request. They wrote the new arrangement AND recorded it all in one week. Metallica loved it and it is the first song on Metallica's Blacklist album.
As a Metallica fan since Dave was with the band (yeah, I'm old), this is Johnny Cash doing Hurt. It's that good, and I was so happy to see it on your face.
Dany's vocals in this song are incredible. Metallica asked them to do this along with Alessia Cara and told them they wanted them to make their own version. They only had to stick to the original lyrics. I think this is better than the original, and maybe that's because I've heard the original so much that this feels fresh. They also only had 10 days to do it
Para que metálica las haya escogido para un cover de unas de sus canciones más iconicas eso las hace ver qué tan talentosas son, y las críticas e envidias salen sobrando, son grandes chicas DPA. 🤟💯
This version, Metallica gave these young ladies permission to remake the song, for their new album called the black list. Lizzy Hale from Halestrom gave this guitar to Dani when the Warning opened up for Halestrom.
OMG, you *think* they're sisters now. Yes, you notice they harmonize well. LOL, you didn't mention the Black Album. Yet. (Will he watch the cover they made while they were just babies?) I approve of your second TW performance reaction. Now onward to your third...
