@@2ndhandsoulsmusic I love this song but I love it even better when it's played live because there's a riff that's prominent in the live version that is buried in the studio version. Check out part of a mini concert they did for SiriusXM : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-br-DHd8esmc.html BTW, I just SUBSCRIBED!
Martirio is one of only two songs that they wrote in Spanish. The other is Narcisista. I think you will also enjoy it as well (Narcisista- The Warning- En Vivo en Foro Didi Monterrey) Martirio is Such a beautiful and powerful song! ⚡The Warning⚡ 🔥👸👸👸🔥 Thnx 🤘😎
They have mentioned it's MUCH more difficult to write Spanish songs than English, probably because English grammar is (slightly) simpler and as a "mish-mash" of other languages, English offers more opportunities to rhyme/rhythm correctly. And even then they occasionally jam syllables together to "make the meaning fit the music" rather than catering entirely to the tune... which I'm actually perfectly fine with. I appreciate lyrics a tad more than the tunes anyway, but maybe that's just me. 😉
Martirio = martydom. This song is about calling out someone who lives life as a martyr - an eternal victim. The video was shot in the Icamole desert north of Monterrey, MX. They said that when they returned home from shooting they had sand and dust in every crevice of their bodies.
'didn't understand a word, but it makes sense', couldn't put it better myself 😅. I've read a translation of the lyrics but, for me, the power and emotion in the song is enough 🤘⚡
Mom's a dentist, dad owned a recording studio, so not musicians, but they certainly went above and beyond to support their daughters. Martirio is one of many TW chart's with not just great music, but also profound lyrics. Always love a first-time reaction, like your friend's, as well as reactions like y'alls!
Hey 2ndHandSouls!! Great that you WARNED a new member of your crew! I hope he checks out some more of their songs, in English, hahah! I look forward to hearing some new music from you! Keep up the awesomeness!
They don't have many Spanish language songs . Martirio translates to Martyrdom and is from the current album, Error. Narcisista , the other Spanish song that I know of, was their response to some calling them out for not having any Spanish songs, don't get Pau mad. lol Crissy and Tomakazi, you are going to have to show Animal more of these sisters. Playing together 10 years, currently 23,21,and 18. Or, the guitar gets donated when Frank wins.😁
@@NoSmokingDogs Perhaps some confusion is generated because his name appears as a recording assistant on a couple of records from the 90's that marked an era, and put Monterrey on the music map. With those two albums "La Avanzada Regia" began, of which his daughters are heirs. Even without being a musician, Luis is part of musical history. 👍
@@Nxort Luis Villareal might be a common-ish name in Mexico, are we sure he's the one credited? Then again, based on a rough guess of his age, he could have been rattling around music studios in his twenties, maybe as a side gig. Fun to speculate if nothing else.
Thanks for the reaction guys, keep rocking with The Warning. I suggest you react to "Survive " live at TEDX, It will suprise you! Garantee!. Saludos desde México!
It is impressive whenever you see them perform this song in the US or Canada and see a healthy majority of the audience singing along in Spanish. The cultural impact of Dany, Pau, and Ale cannot be understated. They are effective cultural ambassadors. Their parents are not musicians. Their mother is a dentist. Their father is a sound engineer. Fun Facts about the video: It was filmed in the Sonora Desert near Monterrey, Mexico where they live. The "filming' session went from early morning to well after dark. It was extremely windy, blowing dust and grit into their faces throughout. The white fabric that is blowing in the wind was originally intended to be a tent stretched over the frame beneath which the ladies would perform. The wind wrecked that idea. I think the effect is pretty cool as it turned out, but it made for a miserable situation as they played their instruments. It was 113 degrees F that day, and they were fighting wasps throughout. How is that for dedication to your craft?
Great reaction guys! Martirio English translation *Martyrdom = Pain - Torment - Suffering * Even though the Spanish word martirio literally translates to the English word martyrdom, the English word martyrdom has a different meaning than the Spanish word martirio. The Spanish word martirio just means pain, torment, and suffering. It is not associated with 'suffering for a noble cause' the way it is in the English language. Lyrics- Sometimes the obvious things are the most difficult to see You choked with your own hands When everything points that finally someone will rescue you You find yourself abandoned again Drown yourself in your painful suffering torment It's your destiny, give in You try to find an explanation in the deepest of your being And you fall into the void again At last you realize in secret that the pain will stay Will be your new life of suffering torment There's no turning back, you can't escape from the fire at your feet And in the darkness, you'll get lost Drown yourself in your painful suffering torment It's your destiny, give in (guitar solo) Sometimes the obvious things are the most difficult to see (walk down bass line) Drown yourself in your painful suffering torment It's your destiny, give in Learn from the ones who suffered If you have to live in fear, it's best to die at the hands of a goodbye To your sad life, foolish martyr, say goodbye Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Whoa Ah (guitar solo) Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh 🗣 Looking forward to hearing your new music with some crunchy metal rhythm guitar! 🤘🤓
Thank you@@Emanon905. I actually learned that from a comment I read under this song or a reaction to it. It was from a bilingual individual who explained the Spanish meaning of the word martyrdom in their culture. I may not be exactly spot on but I feel certain I'm closer than if you just translate it word for word in google translate. I imagine the song must have a huge impact on people in Spanish speaking cultures.
@@morthnadic1Your precision and your interpretation of the concept and the way in which we Spanish-speakers perceive the song is very correct, but as always the girls leave that space where everyone makes their own interpretation of the lyrics and they can all be correct. Personally, for me it is a wake-up call to stop victimizing yourself and take responsibility for leaving those attitudes, leaving your fears and moving forward since you cannot expect anyone to come and rescue you, you only have to do it yourself. It's just an anthem that delivers that reality check right in the face.
And a reality check we can all use! 🗣 Thank you@@sergiogonzalez1400 for your comment and what the song means to you personally. I was blown away when I first read the translated lyrics and immediately thought of how impactful Martirio is; especially to Spanish speakers. I also learned how frustrating it must be to Spanish speakers when they listen to The Warning's English lyrical songs. 🤔 ✌️🤓
This tune always gut-punches me, because I lived that sort of life. I wallowed in my own misery for far, far too many years... finally decided I was "sick and tired of being sick and tired" and dealt with it decades ago, but, well, "the echoes still remain". And while their parents enjoyed music "on a consumer level" and loved doing things like watching concert DVDs for "family movie night"... their professions had nothing to do with music. Their father was a civil engineer, and their mother a dentist (at this point, they've kind of quit their careers and "the band" is now a family business). Giving kids piano lessons is sort of _de rigueur_ for upper-middle-class Mexicans, so that wasn't particularly unusual in and of itself... but it really was the silly video game that got them on this path. It's their own native talent, and their serious work ethic that makes The Warning so exceptional, IMHO.
I Auditioned for a punk band back in the 70s called "sniffing the shit" ,but was overlooked cos I wasn't visual enough, something I'm proud of to this day❤
MARTIRIO : Su segundo tema en español, es un himno del buen rock , interpretado por Dany y su poderosa voz , que sentimiento, que buen riff y que excelente solo, sin la menor duda Dany es una excelente guitarrista y una de las mejores interpretes de rock del mundo,su capacidad es infinita,Dany es una guitarrista de calidad,no de velocidad sus solos te mueven el alma
To Animal - Have them react to Lovebites "Swan Song" with Chopin Etude. You asked about the piano on stage in an earlier Lovebites reaction. "Swan Song" will answer your question about what they use the piano for. Buckle up though!!
Thanks for coming back to The Warning. As good as this video is, for me the best version of this song is this one from the Sirius XM studios. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-br-DHd8esmc.html
I've been watching the warning for few years now since they were little kids there's such a tight band. I've been listening to your songs lately I like them hope you get bigger. I was suggesting for a small band from Bismarck North Dakota where I live. They're good and it's very good the band is break the crown and the song is tear you apart like to see you react to it
