VMA = Video Music Awards. This is an annual event by MTV. It started as a rock event in the ‘80s but has become pop and hip-hop. Only three rock bands performed: Måneskin, Fallout Boy, and TW. TW were the only artists that performed and were not nominated for an award. Taylor Swift won nine awards. They got the invite through their association with Pepsi. Part of the event focuses on what the artists wear. TW were in black latex dresses with chunky heels (their main event clothes, not their performance attire). The songs they performed were recorded on the Friday before the main event and were designated the Extended Play Stage. The main event only showed 45-60 seconds of each song of TW. TW did get several interviews and they were so glamourously dressed that they appeared in Cosmopolitan, Vanity Fair and Glamour magazines online. IMO most of the main event was unwatchable hip-hop and semi naked ladies.
You speak of not really liking “main stream”…. Well, I honestly believe The Warning will single-handedly bring real rock music back into the main stream. I say this because I personally know of several people who have never, and I mean NEVER liked or listened to rock music, who, after hearing The Warning have fallen hard into the rabbit hole and listen to them all the time. I Don’t Agree. Young people needs to be educated to good music , and they have in their repertoire great stuff, catchy songs With high quality level. This is not The right direction. Hey Giacomo, my friend! In January they went to LA to to songwriting sessions with a bunch of different songwriters (I think to make their label happy). This is one of the songs they wrote there. I have a feeling they did it to make the label happy and have a single out while they were touring. BUT, I think they have already had the music ready for a new album since last year, but have not had time to record it. So, I don't think we will have to worry much about them going too commercial with their new album. I think they used their songwriting trip just to learn more about songwriting, rather than let the record label dictate what they do in the future. BTW, the two songs they did for the VMAs (Video Music Awards) they absolutely SLAYED!! They were, BY FAR, the best thing on that whole show. The rest of the show was just the same old cookie-cutter, autotuned, hip-hop/pop manufactured crap that has dominated American popular music for decades TOO LONG!

The Warning is too good and too important to be kept from the world. Part of growing and being creative is to explore new ideas and they’ve done that with amazing success. Proving how creative they can be.

It’s interesting, I remember when CHOKE was released as a single and some were saying that it was a “safe and commercial” song for the masses. It went on to be one of the favorites in live shows and got the crowds singing along. Anyway, I think ‘More’, as it was written with other song writers during a week in LA it is a single for radio play and in my opinion doesn’t represent a change of course in how or what they will write about in their next album. Just a thought.
Choke is a banger!.. a totally 100/100 of rating , one of their best and a song of the century. What I am saying that More is likely to be a song for the masses than Choke was. Choke is indeed a banger and More rocks in a different way and is bringing other audience ears to The Warning. But, I don't think they will keep writing songs like More in my opinion.

Thanks Giacomo....not a lover of mainstream music myself...think it is mostly junk. Did not watch any of this show, except for these Ladies right here....do not know who was on the show and really do not care. The Warning absolutely stole this show from whoever else was there, These Ladies are freaking Rockers and what a performance....LiVE, with real instruments, real voices, (no auto tune junk) and there stage performance was some of the best I have seen....Best Rock Band on the planet....IMO. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I had to listen to this song several times before i liked it. I think back to faith no more's epic, or evanescence, or linkin park, or some grunge ...etc. it took me a minute to like some of their stuff, but i dig them now. I like "more", i do welcome stuff like this, what i still don't like is the "choke" version they did with some rappers. Like i said, they could make it work, evanescence did it with " bring meback to life" or whatever it is called, Linkin Park with all their stuff, faith no more with "epic". We will see... I’m absolutely shocked that MTV had real singers who are also instrumentalists. They are perfect and Ale’ wrote this song 🎶 so it fits a younger generation sound…I’m sorry at least it’s not K-pop which unfortunately Paulina loves. I feel that they have improved since their recent TOUR. They sound more cohesive and I keep forgetting that English is there second language. All of The Warning's songs have had a commercial vibe, just everyone made a fuss about this one, just because it's not that dark, Why did no one complain about revenant or breath? those would also be inconsistent to the most banger songs, They have always varied, they do not have a single musical genre

Don't worry too much about The Warning's path to success, and musical directions. Everyone has faves, it would be impossible to be everything to everyone, best they can do: is stay true to themselves & their own music vision, nevermind the critics, famous bands like The Beatles, Queen, Stones, Led Zeppelin change too, it's inevitable if you have a long enough career, the trick is not to become static.
You need to react to Evolve which they performed also. It is your opinion that More is not the right direction for them, TW has made is very clear that they like this song and they are going to go in the direction they prefer. That is why they held out for a record deal that would let them write their own music! I want these ladies to be happy, not to conform to what I like. Personally I believe they will continue to write variety into their songs, just like they have in the past! But even If they get a bit more commercial, or harder, I am going to support them!
