Hi there! Sorry, but with this assumption, you're mistaken. Both are made from wood. Besides, what benefit would we have of stating wrong facts which any customer can check as soon as he/she picks up our instruments?
Just got one this week for $50 ,all it needs is tuners ,nut ,a string peg ,trussrod cover ,pickup ,and input strap button. This may sound like a lot , but I had some parts already. So I've only had to put another $50 into it. Condition is excellent. Should have it finished in about a month once the order ships in !!!.
@@Akbar-nc6hz ...one of my local music stores will "part out" items that are either broken or slightly damaged ,or they will simply strip items for parts they need ,and sell the left overs. In the past I have purchased drum shells for 5 bux ,warwick bass necks for 25 bux ,hardshell cases for 10 bux, and of course this bass for 50 bux. I also got a badly damaged banjo for 15 bux ,which I restored for about 35 bux. They are very good to me ,and will offer me anything that they can't be bothered to work on...and i'm very grateful indeed.
Love the sound of this bass. was wondering though can i tune it to BEADGB. you mentioned it was tuned to low C. Ive never been a fan of doing that so if i tune it lower will it loose any of that amazing tone.
It should be a crime to amplify this thing; the acoustic tone is 1million times growlier and it STILL keeps that solid punch that you get when plugged in. SERIOUS G.A.S.!
Does anyone know where to buy this bass ? There seems to be a ban on having it shipped because of an endangered exotic wood act !!! I really wanted this !
What is the song at 1:18 ? I was randomly playing on my bass and I figured it out because I had it stuck in my head for the longest time. It took me hours lol.
***** exactly. The phrase "presented with" isn't gonna make many people aware of the fact they're hearing a direct signal. In fact it could still imply that the amp is part of the sound they're hearing. You can excuse your way out of this any way you want but I still think that this type of marketing is misleading and dishonest. You could've just put the amp out of frame if you want to avoid the player wearing headphones. How's that for a change?
Dear Fabio, yes it can! The Warwick Alien has a wide range of tone and an compete with a guitar. May you have the chance to try it in a music store. Cordially, Anne
No, I have tried them in a store, and compared to other brands they are towards the quiet end of the spectrum. I have an acoustic bass of another brand, which I've found to be the loudest of any brand I have tried (most of them), and even that doesn't really compete. That said, I am considering buying an alien anyway, as they have a fretless model, plus I quite like the aesthetics.
Actually, a month later, and I realised that I tried the Rockbass version, whereas the one in this vid is the top of the line model. Its possible that it is a different story with this one. Apologies for my confusion.
Don't count on it, a bass would need a very, very large body to produce the same volume. I love acoustic basses, but there's a good reason they're almost always semi-acoustic. Great for practising on the couch, not so much for playing unamplified. I'm sure this one projects at decent volume, but not likely enough for you to play along with an acoustic guitar.
Hi there, currently not. As for the Warwick brand stings, we only offer Flatwounds for our Warwick Triumph upright basses at the moment. But we have a variety of other flatwound options availible at our store: shop.warwick.de/en/search?sSearch=flatwound
@@FramusWarwickOfficial are the strings used in this video the Optima 24k Gold strings? I got the same ones on my 6-string ibanez and unaware of other gold strings
@@mr.hedgehog420 Hi there! No, as shown in the video (at 6:44) the strings used are Warwick Phosphore Bronze strings. We now sell them under the name "Warwick Black Label Acoustic Bass Strings". But it is important to notice that the Warwick Alien 6-String now comes stock with a "Warwick Red Strings" acoustic bass string set. You can find both string sets in our "Stings" section in our web-shop "shop.warwick.de" (along with other options) or check your local dealer for availablity. Hope this was helpful.
Tune it B E A D F# B and you have standard guitar shapes and scales a fourth down. At the fifth fret you get EADGBE just like a guitar but an octave lower.
I just got my brand new ,top of the line Alien bass and I am quite upset with it. The output jack is totally loose and you need a certain tool to tighten it. The frets are cutting my fingers and the feedback ,shakes the hell out of the bass.I tried setting the bass exactly how Andy has his set in the video and ,I can't get near that volume ,without the bass shaking. I was going to take it to a service center ,but I am so turned off by this ,that I don't want it. I hope Warwick stands by their product and replaces it .You know that feeling when ,you get something new and it's defective and it just sickens you ,because you were so excited waiting for it and the it is F'ed up. I will keep you advised . I would be happy if they sent me a new one ,set up and ready to go out of the box ,with a return label ,so I could send this one back.
How is it looking on shipping these? Where can I find them? Being told up to a year wait? Please hire more German technicians to expedite this thing quicker! Heh. US customer. Thanks.
This is a higher end instrument designed by Germans. They are sacrificing quality by outsourcing to a country that has a terrible reputation for workmanship to save a few dollars. Would you like to spend $1800 on a Gibson Les Paul that was made in China? I wouldn't !
most gibson les pauls are actually crafted in china ASSEMBLED"made" IN USA < doesnt really matter anyway though because theyre all CNC made anyway no more " hand crafted " last "good" gibson was 1975 that said they still play amazing .. rip and shread. and i still own 6 of them and show them off all the time! and there it was said " made in usa "
What matters is you're happy with your investment. My current and only bass I'm using now is an Ibanez sr5006e made in their Japan location. I don't think I'll ever buy another bass : ) I'm surprised to hear that about a genuine Les Paul..
damn that's sexy and i want one, but i have no money, cant play a 6 for shit, hate the feel of acoustic bodies, and also play custom string guages they wont have in bronze.
I got mine last week, and I have a Luthier scheduled to remove that thing on Monday. Actually going to remove, file way down and replace. Who would ever want it? I heard Steve Bailey demoing it, and he he seemed to avoid it, except for once, and it made an awful thump when his fingers slit off the B string.
