For those of you who are like me and can't stand the never ending searing pain that is farming lab on repeat but need gold, go ahead and do 1 or maybe 2 hours of lab with a squad and once you're done just go back and do your regular activities. I get around 15-20g an hour minimum and then I go do my daily fractals then the rest of the time on either WvW or collections. No need to burn yourself out :)
There is another way to keep some candy corn stored: If you get over 50 Large Candy Bags, keep these as well as they contain 5 Trick or Treat Bags (and roughly 3 Candy Corn)
I feel totally lost in an amount of options to farm gold. I would say i want to find a tierlist of goldfarms but i am sure any tierlist became outdated in just 1 weekend... I wonder if the game made so complex by disegn.
fast.farming-community.eu/ is a boon for an automatically updating list, granted that your farm is listed there (more likely when doing meta events and group content, than for some solo farms or crafting). I think ANet just introduced a tad too many currencies. On top of it being difficult to figure out for the players, I think it makes the balancing on their end probably more challenging as well.
Nice! Given a high enough quantity, I would think that opening them always starts paying off. Although, defining what a "high enough quantity" is, might be hard. I was flabbergasted how many 4 Winds boxes I opened without any noteworthy drop (although, I did get that huge drop at the end, though).
So, sad to say, the basic story is that the economy is borked and it's more or less pointless to expend much effort into trying to make gold via trading activities. ANet really need to up their game (pun fully intended) if they want to retain interest. Futile grind is not a substitute for engaging story and game-lay.
i think imma sound a bit negative here but, arenanet hasn't managed to retain interest in many years, new players never stay as an example, you remember their most recent marketing campaign? pretty much did nothing for the game, i love GW2 with a passion but the game is flawed in ways the community has never criticized it for, and maybe even if they did arena net wouldnt listen.
@@dallassukerkin6878 The economy isn't borked. It's just at a state rn it was a year ago or something. When the legendary spear comes in, stuff is gonna get a bit more pricier again - but ofc it won't have the same impact as the introduction of new Legendary Armour
@@DreiSchwerterZorro I don't disagree with your predictions there :nods: But we have different definitions of what we mean by "borked" in this context I think. For myself, I mean that the effort expended in economic activity is not generating a meaningful return. So, for me, it is "borked" because I am losing the desire to engage in play as a result. For the past two years, playing the Gold-Forging game has been where the fun lay for me and now the fun has gone. What can I say? I might have retired as an engineer but my first degree was in economics and I interned as a commodities trader - so I've always been interested in money making systems :O For yourself, it is possible you took me to be meaning that the economy was irrevocably broken and that was not my intention.
This comment doesn't make much sense to me. It sounds like your only goal in the game was to generate gold, and your preferred methods are less able to generate raw gold. Is that accurate? Personally, I have a lot of legendaries left to make, so the current drop in trophy prices is a great opportunity for me to do some crafting. My gold making methods are going further, and the economy is better for me. But then you're also blaming Anet for not making enough engaging story/gameplay, which seems like a different topic. Realistically, Anet has never created enough story content to fill the time of an active player. That's never been a realistic expectation. For an active and up-to-date player, either you fill your time by playing multiple game modes, potentially becoming competitive in at least one of them, or you take breaks. I dislike the characterization of the economy as bad, and the implication the game will go downhill if Anet doesn't increase the rate at which they produce story. It's fine if that's your experience of the game, but it's not necessarily the experience of other players, and it doesn't seem accurate to my understanding of the game as a whole.
