There's also the Final Fantasy movies. Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV looks the best, but my favourite of the three would be Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (especially the Complete cut on Blu-ray).
monster house was nominated for an academy award for best animated feature along with cars happy feet won the Oscar for best animated feature although cars would have won that oscar
I don't care what everyone says, mocap is and will be my favorite animation style ever, alongside with rotoscope. Btw, Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin is the best one
I remember enjoying Polar Express as a child. I didn’t really question the animation back then, I noticed it looked realistic but nothing more than that, but as I grew older I grew more reluctant to watch it, with some specific scenes standing out as uncanny. I didn’t realise why back then, but when I saw people talking about the uncanny valley and mocap it all made sense
Also Tintin is worth noting. It was done by some different studios but had a similar style (which I noticed as a child) but I think it generally looked better. I remember the film being a lot of fun too, and people don’t seem to mention it often but when they do it’s usually positive
You ever think about checking out the Gnomeo and Juliet movies? They're both from Britain, with one being regarded by some as a cult classic and two being viewed as one of the worst animated movies ever.
