This was definitely the weirdest places I've ever removed bees from! Watch as I remove a colony of honeybees that had been living in the tank of a toilet!
That moment of satisfaction when you've watched enough Texas Beeworks videos that you can successfully identify the queen before she's identified by Erika.
@@TexasBeeworks Thanks for you superb content. My gardens and orchard are hosts to bumblebees and mason bees up here in Wisconsin, but there's just something about watching you work with honeybees that is as entrancing as it is educational. I may never have a hive of my own, but you've improved my appreciation of these diligent workers.
I binged a bunch of bee videos a few weeks ago and ended up dreaming about bees for a week straight. Took a break and here I am again, binging more bee saving.
Amazing! Erica, you are one of those amazing souls with care and custody for the smallest of creatures which I am confident extends to the largest of creatures. Well done!
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment. I just want to leave the world a better place than I found. After all, that’s what bees do, and that’s probably my favorite thing about them.
How absolutely stunning to witness how you work with bees. I had a life-long fear of stinging insects until a few years ago when I forced myself to sit amongst the flowers of a hedge that was frequented by loads of bees. I thought that was pretty special to finally understand that as long as I didn't bother them, they wouldn't bother me and, frankly, they didn't care how close I looked in on them gathering their nectar. Watching you scoop up handfuls of bees, however ... THAT's next level.
@@juliashireen6195 Awww. You seem like a _honey_ of a lady. Not at all a stuck-up _queen_ ... but I'd better stop now, lest I _wax_ poetic. #YupDadJokes
Thank you so much! Following along and subscribing here is one of the most impactful ways to support me and the bees. We really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment, and now that spring is here…there’s a lot more bee footage coming soon! ❤️🐝
Thank you for your response, that's so sweet! I'm faithfully watching all the ads on my video binge, so hopefully creating some revenue for the bees and showing the algorithm that we love your videos. Have a lovely day !
Clever bees! How beautiful, thank you so much, Erika. This hive is fantastic! Another great day of saving the beees 🐝🐝🐝 You’re the best! Thanks for ‘taking us along’ with you on these fine days🐝🐝🐝
Great video. You seem to be so in tune with them. I love the fact you move all their comb and don't just grab it for honey extraction. Thank you for working with and helping the bees, we need them so badly.
Most of those combs did not have much honey but lots of eggs and larvae, one does does not place those in the extractor (a centrifuge) as it will destroy them. The honey combs are located at the upper lever of a hive, în smaller frames, where been instinctual lu deposit only honey. The queen lays eggs deep into the hive.
I think you saved whole lot of more bees by educating the public and spreading knowledge about bee behaviours, so people are less afraid of bees and more appreciate of bees
Stumbled across this channel after a random RU-vid short. I never thought a channel on bee removal would be something I wanted to watch but apparently it is.
Amazing a toilet 😮 when you pulled off the lid.. incredible how these little creatures do what they do.. it almost makes me cry.. how lucky we have them .. I don't know how anyone would ever want to hurt such a beautiful animal or any animal for that reason. Thank you for the knowledge 🙏 😌 beautifully done. Grateful...
You're doing a lot to save bees, these little humble creatures are the best, they pollinate our fruit trees and grain plants, provide energy dense and complete form of food, Honey. Bees are amazing, best of wishes to you for saving more bees, more power to you. And I enjoy the way you end every video stretching the word beeeeees!
I would have just picked up the trashed toilet and taken that with me. It made an excellent hive. Lol. She always does and good job and has a comforting voice.
My grandad was a beekeeper, and I remember helping with most of the tasks off beekeeping. But never without protection. I’m so impressed you are able to handle the bees the way you do :-)
I have to ask. How does toilet bee honey taste? 🤔 Also could you have just lifted the toilet over the hive box and flushed it 😁. Enjoyed the video but could not resist the thoughts.
Seems to me that a toilet, fitted with frames in the tank would be a good durable weatherproof hive. It would be funny to have a collection of vintage toilets, pink, blue, coral colored in your yard. 😊
I really enjoy your videos. They are always educational and fascinating. Your handling of the bees is a wonderful thing to see. You’re so careful and respectful of them I guess that’s why the don’t sting you. Thanks for sharing.
I think I’m getting a lot better at spotting the queens just from watching your videos. Now I just have to remember not to throw away the next toilets I change out. 😂😂😂
You are so amazing with the bees your voice keeps them so calm and they never get upset and your soft voice you know that you're cortisone in your adrenaline right where it needs to be To keep the bees happy❤
Omg I loooooveeeee your voiceeeee! I love asmr but I have this weird pet peeve where I hate when people mouth cracks or poops when speaking. You speak perfectly clear and soft. I’ve been looking for you all my lifeeee
@@bncspeaker I have watched all her videos. I now realise from watching other creators videos that the box they are being placed in is in fact their new hive box. Would be great to see follow ups of these hives though 👍
So I was watching a bunc of your videos and I was texting my friend, Well I got super tired and started to fall asleep and i told my friend "Gets the hive ready" When I woke up more i was so confused 😂 But I love your videos! Everytime i have a question it always gets answered, and your so gentle with the bees that it warms my heart! I hope you have an amazing year!
Man i wish there someone near me i could call, there is a hive that took root in between the bricks and walls of my apartment building. I told the complex the day they moved in, but here we are two months or so late and theyre still there. It's such a small entrance and i cant imagine how much space they have or not to build
Love these videos 🐝 it’s given me such an appreciation for bees and their colonies. I do wonder what happens to the bees that don’t make it to the new hive and are left behind? Do they start a new colony?
Me and my son just started watching these bee videos and love them so much! Thanks for sharing! Question: what happens to the straggler bees that dont make it into the new hive?
Honey bees are typically gentle and don’t sting. I mean, always handle with care, she’s an expert who knows when it’s safe and when it’s not. But honey bees aren’t usually aggressive.
Your soul is so special. I never liked bees till I was educated by your channel. Now I put sugar water out for them away from where we sit outside, and they never bother us. They do occasionally get the liquid from the hummingbird feeder, but when the birds arrive they leave.
I'm surprised you didn't plug the hole & relocate. Then take time to rebuild at home. It's funny how they just through the toilet out behind the shed like that. At least sitting outside that long disinfected it.
Erika my dear, your videos are such a delight. I'm happy to say I'm an avid bee lover because of them. ❤️🐝 Quick question - do some bees get squashed when you place pieces of comb into your frames? I'm sure that even with your gentle and careful work, some collateral damage is inevitable where there are so many bees clustered together so densely. Just wondering how common that is. Thx again for your important work and joyful content! 🙏🏼
So I'm new to your channel and going through your videos, love your content and as many, your wonderfully calm and soothing voice. I just wanted to ask one thing, and I'm not sure if it's been asked a million times already, but.. when you pack up and leave and there are still some straggler bees left behind, what happens to them? I know you wait it out as long as you can but.. do they just die because their colony is gone?? :(
Here from istagram and I couldn't be more happy! ❤️ I have a quite big garden and evry year bees start to buzz around. We give them space and put out even more flowers ❤️💐❤️ we can't find the hive but it's nowhere in our protety 🐝🍯💕
