oh. my. god. this series is perfect! Just as I'd imagined it whilst reading the books- though I did expect there to be more elaborate, sky-reaching head peices but oh well. This is not a docudrama but rather a piece of dramatised historical fiction that is quite exciting and pleasing to the eye :)

Since I know nothing of British history apart from what I've read in Philippa Gregory's books I loved this series a lot. I've heard that it's not very historically accurate, but it's very entertaining and the acting is very good.

The actor playing Richard looks so ravishing that it's hardly ever possible to look at other men (I mean, in general)

I will be watching this for Rebecca Ferguson who plays the white queen, she's from Sweden and played in a swedish tvseries when I was young(er). Exciting!

Interesting how the actresses are all so thin when actually this kind of look during that time would be bad because people would associate with being poor and starvation

Most of the filming was actually done in Bruges Belgium. I actually was one of the extras in a couple of shots so I wonder if i will make the cut and have my 2 seconds of fame probably not though :-p

Phillipa Gregory's book the White Queen is a novel and this series is based on her book, but I was referring to Alison Weir who is a historian. She wrote Lancaster and York; The Wars of the Roses.

Faye marsay who plays anne neville, she started out in one of my student films back in 2008! Fab to hear she's in this, will be watching :)

Game of Thrones is loosely based off of The War of the Roses... read the description for this trailer. Game of Thrones is The War of the Roses with Fantastical elements. I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan, I'm not a some troll. Just saying there will be similarities.

I loved this book so much. Can't wait for this!

Because thats where The White Queen's story ends. She watches her daughter marry Henry Tudor, and later asks to be placed in a convent. She dies there at age 55. She is then buried beside her husband Edward back court. Watch Philappa Gregory's documentary about the true story it. :)

I completly disagree. a) there are no tv shows on the war of the roses, but there were heaps of arturian legends. b) the author of these books is famous so her fans will all be waiting to watch it. c) it is simmilar to the borgias and the tudors which are equally popular. d) if it is being compared to game of thrones, then obviously that will be popular. Both based on best selling books, putting all this logic together, that will result in great ratings. I for one can't wait for this show to air

It's about time we had a War of the Roses drama. The Tudor period has been done to death. Elizabeth Woodville is just as interesting as Anne Boleyn. However since this is also based on a book, there will be some fictional elements woven in with the factual elements. I hope we see Margaret of Anjou in this too.

GoT, while inspired by and styled upon the same period, is a purely fictional fantasy drama set in alternate world of dragons and giants, The White Queen is an historical drama, based on fact, set during the real life Wars Of The Roses in England. Their similarities end at the inspiration of their source material. To compare them in any depth is nonsensical. This is far more similar to dramas like The Tudors and Rome than it is GoT, and even then only in that it's a big budget historical drama.

I just finished watching the series and ;u; it was lovely.

They could've done so much more with it.

He does not know why all the stories of kings and movies that talk about them will not remain loyal to their wives, they reach a certain age at which they leave their wives and go to slave women and girls of the night despite their love for them. And they don't show any dissatisfaction with this matter!!!
