There are many historic things that have showed that how people are raised will be reflected in how industrious people become. In south Africa when the white land plantation owners were forced to leave there plantations, the local blacks that worked on these plantations were given the property to run for themselves. many of these plantations quickly fell into ruins and became overgrown in a few years. This shows that the local black people didn't have the ability to forgo short term gratification in order to achieve long term success. They need a weekly pay check to survive instead of 1 or 2 large payouts each year, which is normal for the farming business .Other industries in south Africa suffered similarly, the electrical grid was left to fall into dangerous disrepair instead of making the proper investments and repairs to maintain the system. The people running these business are just as intelligent as the whites who were displaced, but have a different sense of priorities which wont work for long term prosperity . The Asians are very industrious, this is why they excel in everything they tackle. A completely different mentality towards work ethics and delayed gratification.

I think I read one on Edison's team of scientists was of color and improved the process to make light bulbs. I think weather conditions matters, but less so in these modern years.
Actually, some good thoughts. I suppose quantifying intelligence is a difficult matter to some extend. The black culture has contribute heavily to music, including the blues, Jazz and arguably, blacks contributed to the early days of rock. My understanding is Elvis plagiarized some of his movements and the general rhythm of his early rock from earlier music created by black singers. There is no question, blacks have become some of the worlds greatest athletes;. Even golf, a traditionally white sport took a back to the likes of Tiger Woods. These are a few examples where blacks have influenced our culture in a very profound way. How do you assign an IQ number to the composers of the Blues and Jazz or the many superior black athletes? Are there contributions any les significant? When it comes to science, Neil Tyson is certainty one of the greater Astor Physicists of our time. and I imagine his IQ is very high. Back in the 80's there was a movie called Trading Places which addresses your thoughts. It is a comedy but has a plausible story line. I do agree strongly about having to press 1 for English.. If for no other reason, it does not encourage people moving to this country, many illegally, to learn OUR language. If they want to communicate in some version of Spanish, perhaps they should move to a country where Spanish is the language of that country. I also agree, on the rare times I call for tech support, I do not want to try to understand what some person in India is saying.
