My mum has suffered with migraines all her life. They use to take her out for days, she got hers done and she said it has changed her life and I thought that was amazing for her.
I was hospitalized many times for migraines. I walked into my favorite tattoo and piercing shop with a heck of a migraine. My friend did my daith and as soon as she had it in my migraine was gone. Haven’t had a migraine in 9 years. I swear by my daith.
Wow, that’s amazing. I totally had the same type of experience. I’ve had mine for four years and I haven’t had a migraine in four years. I have not had a crippling migraine that makes me want to vomit and pass out on the floor in four years and I used to get those I used to get crippling migraines that would make me vomit that would cripple me to the point I would have to lay in bed in the dark for many days with cold compresses on my eyeballs because I couldn’t look at nothing I couldn’t read nothing I I couldn’t even have a functioning life. It would cripple me so bad and I got my piercing. My death and I’ve had it for four years and the most now I get is like a little tiny headache that is solvable with sleep most of the time or just a hot shower. Sometimes I have to take like a Tylenol, but they no longer become crippling. They’re no longer crippling migraines to the point I vomit on the floor or to the point I have to lay in the dark for several days and look at nothing because they used to be like that. I swear mine has worked tremendously for four years And. I’m so blessed to have it and it’s makes my life so much easier and I’m able to read for a longer period of time because I found that reading was one of the big things that caused me migraines all the time and I will get a lot of iFit Teague and everything and thanks to that peer saying I don’t experience that very much anymore. I do not experience crippling migraines are that makes me wanna vomit on the floor anymore. The only recent pain I had was the lady remove the jewellery for five minutes just to change it and oh my God, I had an instant literal migraine that makes made me nauseous, and I never one of the peers would be so quick in her life to get the jewellery back in my ear, but that was The only time and that was the recent time with it but yeah, as long as I always have my jewellery and I am perfectly fine I do not experience migraines that cripple me and make me nauseous and make me wanna vomit on the floor so and I never get it to where I have to sleep in the dark for several days anymore, which is thank the Lord for that the most I’ll get is maybe a minor little headache I can sleep off or one that I can treat with just a little low-grade Tylenol and I’m good to go
I have about 11 piercings in total so far and I can say the daith was my most panful piercing. I have a pretty high pain tolerance so this piercing kind of shocked me. I remember hyperventilating afterwards (mainly because I forgot to breathe while it was being done lol). The piercer did say that I do have thicker cartilage in that area so that was probably the main reason behind why it was so painful. Even though the pain was almost too much for me, I can say that it's probably my favorite piercing. I got it pierced about 4 or 5 months ago, it's honestly so cute and I can't wait to get new jewelry for it :)
I do definitely agree with you, I have 18 piercings and my daith was probably my 2nd most painful piercing but I do love it though (I got it yesterday)
How many days after did you feel the pain? I got it at monday, and i think after two days the pain is worse than directly after punture 🙃 especialy after cleaning it with ear buds, which is qutie hard, beacuse i cant see it too well 😂
@@tomatotornado4305 for me its not as bad, i have more pain after get piercied than in studio. Its just few seconds! Getting a tatto is much worse! 😄 but im about 2-3 weeks after and it still pain a little bit, when im cleaning it or sleep on this side
I suffered from severe migraines, I couldn't watch tv(be in a place noisy), enter a moving vehicle, walk for a long period of time or even get a job because the migraines will disturb me. After getting this piercing I have had no migraine!! Just normal headaches from stress. After 2 days of getting my daith, my life changed (cries😪) I'm so happy I can now do all the good stuff. BYE TO MIGRAINES 🥳🥳🥳
u r the 1st person I have found that suffers from the same exact problems from migraines. I find that those around me do not understand and even think I'm being dramatic about the pain and tolerance. being in a car feels like whiplash every time it breaks or turns a corner. I can feel my own voice vibrating in my head until it becomes a drum and the high frequency sound makes me deaf. double vision even. noises I am not prepared for is like being hit in the head with a baseball bat. which I have experienced actually... how do you deal with this? are you on medication? I found that a very low dose of Ativan has helped but it's not prescribed to me on a regular basis. I've tried ice packs on the back of my neck. but I mostly sit in a semi dark room to complete dark and have no noise. I can't walk. I can't speak. I can't drive. I can't do public places. I feel like I'm missing out on life. 😞
@@somethingelse1257 I haven't tried them, but the ear piece I have to wear at work goes in the ear without the piercing, because the hoop gets in the way. Other jewelry might work better.
I got this piercing about a month ago and I absolutely love it! I never really had migraines but I got it because I love the look of the piercing. The pain personally was about a 6- it wasn’t as bad as my belly button but was a bit more painful than my nose. The pain didn’t last very long and by the time I was going to bed I forgot I had even got it done. I got so many compliments and people asking questions. I do work in the medical field and do have to use a stethoscope quite often, I just really clean the bits that go into my ears, very carefully place/remove the stethoscope and clean he piercing ASAP. When I do this I don’t have any irritation to the piercing and it’s been really good healing so far :)

Oh thank you for this! 😊 I just got it done and later I realized I might have trouble with earphones and the steth olives. You're giving me hope haha. Because for me it was a 7/10 pain (period just started so maybe that's a pain factor also) so I was really worried I might've rushed it. But I love the way it looks and can't wait for a new jewelry in it
Scott, you saved my nose and my ear! I'd gotten a nose piercing in February that was great for about two weeks, then developed a bump that just wouldn't go away; I tried soaking, cleaning more, cleaning less, and used emu oil. Still wouldn't go. Watching your video I realized the L screw was way too long; went last night to have the piercer replace it and in less than two hours, the bump was barely noticeable. Figured while I was there I'd get my daith done. He wanted to start with a curved barbell, but I'd seen this video and was like no way! Got my captive bead ring on request and I absolutely love it. Thanks for giving us so much great info. You're awesome to watch!
New subscriber. Love your videos!! They are short and to the point and from a professional which is the cherry on top. Not 15+ minutes of fluff. Thanks so much!
So interesting to see how differently everyone experiences this one. It was my least painful piercing. Did both ears one after the other. Felt the needle for less than a second, heard and felt the crunch very clearly for another second, (is it strange that I kind of want to hear the crunch again? It was so weird!! xD) then it was done. Afterwards my ears just felt like they do when you're outside in the cold for a while without covering your ears. Annoying af and unpleasant but completely bearable.
I always hear conch is super painful and hard to heal, mine was about a 4/5, and healing it has been almost pain free aside from when I accidentally bump it. Everyone really is different. My double forward helix was a 5/6, and it was painful for like a 1.5 after getting it, and it's still very tender.
@@brosef5033 Most painful for me hands-down was nipples. The needle pain itself was pretty similar to any other piercing, but the pain afterwards was next level. My entire upper torso was throbbing in pain for hours. It was not fun at all.
I JUST got daith piercings. I’m actually surprised at how little pain there was. It was more of a sharp pressure, followed by a dull ache… and now that the Advil has kicked in, I don’t feel any pain. ❤️
@@certifiedqueen7259 it’s definitely different for everyone! my friend had hers done years ago and didn’t even feel it! honestly if you want it just go for it!!
I have had horrible migraines forever. Going into getting my piercing I knew it didn’t work for anyone but I really liked how it looked anyway so I thought I would go for it. It helped SO much. I am so grateful. I still have my auras, I still feel foggy/cloudy and I can feel some pain but it’s like I have a shield or a shelter that it’s skittering across. I used to have to do a lot of things to decrease my pain before I could sleep because sleep is the only way for me to get rid of them but now I can fall asleep pretty quickly. It was one of my best investments.
I have been a life long sufferer, I found that having both sides done actually made a difference. It does not take them away but it has lessend the severity of my migraines. And a nice piercing too!
I did first hear about this one as "the migraine piercing," and that was what got me thinking it was a cool look at least. Eventually, I wanted it more and more and just recently got it done a few months ago after years of wanting it. I used to get a migraine or two a month on average but they were still fairly rare. Though in the few months I've had it done, I haven't had a migraine. But as a medical person and someone that loves piercings, I have to recommend sticking to only getting it if you truly want it, and getting rid of migraines should only be seen as a possible bonus if it happens for whatever reason.
Finally got my daith piercing done days ago. The procedure was painless, but after is a different story lol. It triggered my headache after a day. Been 4 days now, achy pain is still there, slightly swollen and using the wound wash just burns it more. I love it though! Can’t wait to downsize it to a more beautiful piece of jewel. Thank you for all your advice! Love your videos!
I just got my right ear done and it is amazing!! I used to have head pain 24/7 and get migraines a lot. I can't wait to get my other ear done! Some may say it's the placebo effect, but as long as it works, i don't care! I loved your video!
It worked for me! I had debilitating migraines for yearrrrssss and had tried everything known to man to treat them and nothing worked. A friend of mine who is a piercer recommended this piercing so I decided to do it because why the hell not? Lol! I'd had a migraine for 3 days the day I went in and as soon as the needle went through, my head instantly stopped hurting. That was three years ago this month and I've never had a migraine since then. This piercing absolutely changed my life!
I get horrible migraines a few times a WEEK but also am on medication for it but I still got them every month a few time BUT after I got my daith piercing I got 8 months ago. After getting it my migraines are only happening once in a while and NOT every month 🤯🤯🤯 I am SO grateful.
Just got my daith piercing, I love it so much! Your videos really motivated me to get it. The pain was very bearable and I am hoping for smooth healing. Would love an aftercare video if you have the time: really trust the advice and appreciate the expertise and production you put into all your videos.
The pain is very tolerable, the healing/cleaning is the trick! I'm on my 2nd month and my piercing is still a bit swollen because the fluid is difficult to clean out (pressure is built when it dries up). This is the main issue I have had since I can't see directly into my own ear and cotton swabs are huge to get into my ear's ridges. (Still looking for tips on this!) Other than that everything is going great and the piercing looks beautiful, I am so happy I got it. Each person's experience of pain is unique, so I would say to go for it. I am already saving up for my next piercing!
My daith is the only piercing I've gotten other than my lobes. I had no clue how painful it would be... I legitimately thought I was going to die! I didn't know what gage they pierced me with so I accidentally got new jewelry in a bigger gage. I got it switched out about 5 months into the healing, thinking it was long enough. Boy was I wrong... with the thicker jewelry being shoved through the smaller hole that was half healed it hurt almost as bad as the initial piercing. I haven't changed it since, it's been about 4 years. I figured out that I can wear ear buds if they are oval shaped instead of circles. I also got my daith done in the hopes that it would help with my migraines. I didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised! I get maybe 2 migraines a year now compared to the 2 a month I used to get! 🥳 Overall, I absolutely love my daith! Despite a couple of bad/uninformed decisions and a shitty healing process, it turned out really nice, no infections, no bumps, etc.
I got this piercing about 4 years ago, and it was definitely the most painful piercing I've had. It didn't completely stop my migraines, but I will say they happen less often and they're not as severe as they were prior to this piercing.
I did it 3 months ago : it definitely hurts a lot ! but only on the moment, right after we finished and that I paid my piercing and got out from the piercer I forgot about the pain and never felt any pain since then. I even sleep on them 2 days after I got them done and didn't feel anything. But as I can't sleep without ear puds, I had a little bump around the piercing because of the ear puds and the fact that I was bothering the piercing in my sleep. But I stop wearing them and cleaned the piercing and the area and no more problems. I think this piercing could never give you issues, if you have problems with it, you looked for it. but definitely recommend this piercing and I can't wait for the healing process to be done.
@@artisticagi oh no ! Our body react differently ! I don’t think it’s a bad sign, trust the process and leave the piercing alone (after the cleanings of course) xx
I've had migraines for as long as I can remember. To the point I had one while back that took me out of school for a month, no doctor could explain why. A couple months ago me and my friend went and got our left sides done and I wasn't expecting it to help cause nothing really has before, but it's helped me more than anything ever has. I'd definitely say try meds and stuff first but it seems to work for a lot of people
I had my daith piercing done mostly for migraines. My piercer insisted i get a "captured bead" piece of jewelry. I had migraines for 3 days after (piercing was easy, just pressure) so i was going to take it out. I took the bead out and got distracted, and the migraines finally went away. I have a theory that the jewlery acts like an acupuncture needle and stimulates the point but also releases extra "chi". If the jewelry is round, it doesn't allow the excess chi to leave the point. I have since had a horshoe shape put in and I have had reduced migraine frequency and severity. It would be great to get data on jewlery type and migraine reduction.
I just got my daith pierced as well as a tragus and a flat in one session yesterday. I just wanted to say how awesome this piercing is. I literally felt no pain. It was only pressure, I didn't even really hear a noise. I am a little hard of hearing anyway though. I know everyone is different, but I didn't think it would be zero pain! I wish I had 5 daiths. I'd get them all pierced! The flat and the tragus however were pretty uncomfortable. I guess the worst part was both of those were bleeders so they took more time and attention and I felt so bad for my piercer. They are beautiful piercings though. I'm so happy. I hope they lessen in soreness soon. I have a great piercer and I'm just thinking about what I want done next. Too many beautiful pieces of jewerly!! Thanks for your informative videos, Scott. I've watched almost all of them to see what to expect before booking appointments. I tried to do my research and it lessened the anxiety when you know what the possibilities are, it helps. Thank you!
I got this piercing when I was struggling really bad with migraine issues and was willing to try anything for any relief whats so ever. The moment the needle went through, I felt the clearest head I had in years.... for that moment. After the initial piercing, it went back to the normal head fogginess and pain I had been suffering from. Luckily, I have since been able to get the migraines under control and have my life back but it was not the daith that cured it.
Can you do an episode of “The Whole Truth - Anti Tragus Piercing”? I want one done, but I don’t want to do it without your professional input. Plus, it’d be interesting! Thank you for the videos! Love from Germany!
I love my daith piercing. No migraine help but I didn't go into it expecting a change. I would've rated it higher on the pain of meter. Mine hurt quite a bit but healing has been a breeze
i got my daith for the aesthetic of the piercing. i dealt with severe headaches multiple times a week and after getting the piercing, i get a headache maybe once a month. i got a blessing in disguise!!
I just got mine pierced a week ago, and had a migraine the next day! Haha. I only got it for looks though. For me the pain was very minimal! I'd dare to say one of the easier ear piercings I've had. It was really just pressure, not pain.
@@angelachavez8288 I only have my left side done since my conch is in the way on my right. However I did get a low helix on the same day as my daith, but it doesn't appear to have impacted healing. The daith has been really easy! It does get a little irritated sometimes if I over-clean it or accidentally sleep on it and don't lay on my donut pillow right, but it's been the easiest piercing I've had so far. The helix has been a royal pain in the butt, but that's how helixes always are for me.
I found out about this piercing from my mom since we’re both migraine sufferers. I don’t get migraines super often and was honestly just using that as an excuse to get a cool piercing lol. I’ve had it for about a month now and it was my first “big girl” piercing after I had my lobes done. Can honestly say it didn’t hurt at all!! It felt no different than having my lobes done and I have super thick cartilage in that area to the point where the needle actually got stuck on the way through. The only part that was a little painful was when my piercer was closing the ring. So far, no migraines yet but we’ll see by the end of the year lol. I love the way it looks and I’m excited to get new jewelry for it once it’s all healed up!!
I just got my daith piercing done today and it was an easy 2/10 on the pain scale for me. Just a little bit of pressure and that's it. No bleeding, no uncomfortable sounds in my ear and no pain after the fact. I was prepared for much worse so I was really shocked by it. I hope the healing process goes smoothly 🤞
same here for me. I was expecting something quite intense because I've been reading a lot about this piercing coz it's so cute and I walked in, fully prepared for the sharp pain. I didn't hear any cracks, and it's like super quick. Not so much of a pain afterwards but maybe because it's still fresh. Let's see how it's going to heal up. Yeah, fingers crossed to the healing process...
Same for me! I got mine at the very beginning of this month and it really didn't hurt at all when I got it done--as you said, a bit of pressure and it was over. It's doing pretty well now, I've been very vigilant about not touching it and doing proper aftercare, and I really hope it heals up quickly and smoothly. It's my first piercing since I got my lobes done (which was years ago and they have since closed up, I had a Claire's horror story lmfao) and it pleasantly surprised me :)
@Imogen Hague oh so sorry to hear that. My daith is now like a month old now and it's healing fine. I feel itchy occasionally but definitely much better than my helix, which is like 11 mo now
I got both ears done it does help me with migraines and I love how they look. I was told I would need to go i to get them changed (I need to have them removed for my MRI's). I Can't believe it took me this long to find out I can change them myself.
Got it pierced last week (I got my rook pierced as well) and it wasn't painful at all. It also stopped aching very soon (after two days). I love it ^-^
Excited to read these comments. Had my daith pierced a month ago, proper jewelry and I believe proper placement. My ear filled with blood when it was pierced and my equilibrium was totally thrown off for a day, then my sinuses were sore for another day. But after that, it's been totally fine. I've been really good about cleaning it daily and sleeping on a donut, so I'm hoping it'll heal quick. But I've heard that the 2- or 3-month mark is where people started getting bumps and issues.
I thought the rook was the one that stopped migraines and went out and got it... I shortly found out it wasn’t the rook but I still love my rook. I’m in between the daith or a forward helix for my other ear.
Love your videos Scott! I got my first daith 7 months ago at 16g, and I got my second daith yesterday at 14g. 14g was definitely much more gnarly! No cartilage crunch noise both times. Healing for the first daith has been pretty easy
Got mine done 4 weeks ago and it was easy. The pain was a 0/10 for me. I didn't feel anything he was doing there lol. The healing on the other hand was... different. While I never felt pain from the piercing, I did however experience tenderness on that side of my face. That nerve that runs by there was definitely grumpy for about a week. It actually scared me but it was nothing in retrospect.
TLDR: I suffered from debilitating migraines complete with auras and digestive issues from the time I was 4 years old until I got my daith pierced around age 22-23 I suffered from migraines for all of my childhood and the beginning of early adulthood. I remember them from preschool through young adulthood(and they may have started before that, it is just that preschool is when my condition was recognized) like it was yesterday. I would see auras, white flashes of light, suffer severe immobilizing head throbbing, and have all the other gross digestive symptoms associated with status migrainosus. I suffered through that for years. No treatments I tried ever worked. I just lived with it. My episodes were too painful to sleep through or function through. Whenever that dull throbbing above my eye started I rushed to a quiet dark place so I could lay in the dark and cry for hours to days until the episode subsided. I never knew if it would be a long (days) or a shorter(half a day) episode. I just let it run its course and rested once it was over. I got my daith pierced shortly after graduating from college. I was around 22-23 in 2008-2009(don’t remember the exact year but it was one of those years) when it got it. My little sister asked me to come with her when she got her tragus pierced and when I saw the ear photo of all the areas of the ear that could be pierced, I decided to get my daith pierced on both sides that day. I see a lot of daith piercings all the way on the underside of the fold. Mine is positioned right as that area folds under. So if I have a curved barbell in and push the ball flush to my daith, it will look very similar to the base piercing of a triple helix and be visible as I am facing forward. However, if I have a ring or curved barbell that I push flat against the insides of my ear then my jewelry becomes invisible to someone looking at me straight on. Now I am 37 years old now and I haven't had a migraine since around the time I got my piercings. I just noticed that they stopped shortly after I finished college and I didn’t know why. I have seen white flashes, blind spots, and auras since my daith piercings, but not as often as I used to, and those experiences are never accompanied by the severe pain and digestive issues that were once normal during my episodes. Today is the first time I ever heard of a connection between cured migraines and daith piercings. After watching your video, I looked up more articles and other videos on the topic. I am amazed by how well the claims match exactly what I experienced. I am seriously in a state of amazement right now. Although I understand the skepticism, I can never forget how debilitating my episodes used to be and recognize that they did indeed stop after I got this set of piercings. I am eternally grateful for that. Incidentally, I came across your video because every now and then my piercing will become tender for a few days if I put too much pressure on it while sleeping. I made that mistake earlier this week and was looking for tips to get that tenderness to subside quicker. Shoot! After watching your video and looking at other videos and articles on this piercing/migraine connection, I am unbothered by the tender spot. I will gladly tolerate taking a tender spot on my ear for a few days, every few years over the migraines of my past. Thanks for the video!
I got mine because I hoped it would help, and even if it didn't, I thought it was cute! I was lucky and it actually did work, not only for my migraines but even my sinus headaches too!! It took a year to heal, but I'm so happy with it.
I came to this channel specifically looking for more info about this piercing and the septum... 20 videos I'm finally watching it 🤣🤣🤣 keep it up man! Love all the info!
The daith piercings worked for my migraines. The piercings were not painful , just pressure. I have 29 piercings in my ears and nose. A good piercer will not make it a bad experience.
I got this piercing in August of 2021 and I have to say my Migraines did almost go away. I suffer less and less from migrianes now and I was taking three different meds to treat migraines.
I’ve been with my daith for almost a year. I had no migraines, just wanted cause of its aesthetic. I’ve tragus, helix and conch also. After tragus, it was the least painful piercing that I have but the healing process was like a hell. I had enfection, keloids…I did not take it off, patiently I tried to heal it. End of the one year, it is nearly healed I can say. If you will do your aftercare properly, do not scare to get it.
Maybe 3 years ago I got my daiths pierced, then had to get an MRI and they grew in right after i took them out. I got them repierced maybe a month after. A lot of the people I talk to about it tell me theirs was one of their worst piercings. In my own experience, it almost made me black out on the piercing chair both times. Very rough, and now that they’re healed they move around and sometimes cause me to have headaches. I love the look though, so not worth me taking them out and having to get them redone again.
I was having really bad migrains and headaches and that was the reason why I got it. I've had it for over a year and I truly believe it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
I got mine done with a curved barbell. See they told me exactly what u said but like the opposite. They said the curved barbell helps it heal faster and safer, and the hoop “doesn’t allow it to heal properly”. I’ve had mine for about 5 months I would say, I think it might have healed faster if it were done with the hoop instead. Thanks for this video, it helped a lot!
I had vertigo and "pressure" headaches, I got my left done back in May and the vertigo is gone, the headaches on the left side of my head went away. I got the other side, the right, done a few days ago and so far so good. Some people it works because they get "vestibular headaches", which is what I think I was getting, along with the vertigo from that part of the ear. The headache relief is just a side benefit, what I was after was relief from vertigo, which it has done. I haven't had an attack since the beginning of May, prior to that I was getting them two or three times a month and the headaches a couple times a week. Not debilitating, but really irritating as you can medicate vertigo, but the medication side effects suck. Also the headache medication just didn't seem to touch the headaches, but I can say it did work for me. Also I do like the look of them, which was my biggest reason for getting them.
I’m experiencing a lot of pressure headaches mostly in front of my forehead and always dizzy. I’m thinking about getting mine done too. To see if there is a benefit out of it. You explained everything that I’m going through as well hopefully it works 🤞🏻How bad was the pain?
@@kathywallace6386 It was actually not very painful. My conch hurt a lot more. Only time it really hurt was when I messed up and slept on it. Also if you're gonna do it, get both of them done at once. I should have, but I suffered for a few months before I got the other one.
I am thinking of getting this piercing because I do have headaches/migraines but I think it looks great too. I have learned so much from your videos. I have also seen some piercings I would love to get now! I wish you were in N.C.!!!
Wonderful video, thank you for sharing:) I’m late to comment on this but I can add to the "didn’t help my migraines" tally. It’s still one of my favourite piercings though. Only mildly uncomfortable to get, but the healing was quite long (about a year before I’d say it was 100% healed)
I've tried so many migraine medications so decided to try getting a daith. I ended up getting both done, but at different times because I'm a side sleeper. My left side hurt worse than my right, but definitely mostly pressure not pain. I got them because I knew that even if they didn't help my migraines I'd love them anyway. After getting the first one done, I felt like it helped (not cured) but it was only temporary. My main migraine symptom is lightheadedness and it's triggered by bad weather, not full headaches. It still happens with storms. So getting the piercings didn't help like I'd hoped, but they look great and I'm happy to have them. Had my right one just over 4 months and my left one about 2 weeks now.
I didn't get the piercing to help my migraines, but i said if it did that would be cool, but mainly wanted it for the looks to help fill up my ear more. but oh my it was PAINFUL, that pressure stuff everyone says was not true in my case, it hurt so bad that I didn't even noticed if it made a sound lol, then it kept bleeding for almost a month and had these huge bumps for almost 3 months thst kept popping with blood and reforming, by the 5th month everything settle down, was able to switch from a circular barbell to a Hinged Ring and haven't had problems since :)
Mine hurt so bad! It bled three times, blood gushing out. I just got it done. I didn’t hear shit it felt so painful I couldn’t pay attention to anything else damn. But so gorgeous.
I got this done about a week ago and am still trying to see how it helps. So far it seems to be working, but it's early. The pain wasn't bad, but the adrenaline spike and drop got me right after. My 5 tattoos (both sides completely done) didn't even make me lightheaded at all
I got my daith pierced today, woop woop! Pain-wise it was really weird, it was the most new + bizzare kind of pain id ever felt, its hard to explain. The nail biting moment for me tho was when they pulled the jewelry through, that felt WEIRD. The 6 hours afterwards it didnt sting like my helixes did, more like ached and throbbed. Im so super happy with it tho. The pain was definitely up there for me but it wasnt the end of the world. So happy with it!
Just had my daith pierced today! Kinda painful, scale 1-10 it was 5 or 6. But after it was all over it wasn't bad, took some anti inflammatory. Looks super cute! Can't wait to get some different jewelry. I didn't get it for headaches tho, just like the way it looks.
Got one recently. I recommend really considering the following if u want one: no earbuds/head phones, no sleeping on that side, use phone w other ear, and when it tickles the inside of your ear, good luck. Personally it felt like half the pain if a Novocain shot to the ear, I didn’t flinch but almost shed a tear. But I like it because I know literally no one else w it. It’s a good way to express yourself without looking unprofessional at work and there’s tons of different things u can put in there.
I JUST got both of mine done about a week ago... it DEFINITELY helps with my Migrains. I literally used to get them almost everyday for like 3 years. I would wake up with them, have to eat in the dark, ect.. since I've gotten both piercings, I've only had 1 headache today, because the speaker at work was BLARING music right across from where I was standing. I was put on Seizure Medication to control my Migrains, but I think my body started to kind of get used.to them, because I would have like "break through Migrains."
Got mines done 3 days ago. Pain was a 1 out of 10. So far my piercing is healing well. I look forward to getting new jewelry for my piercing once it’s fully healed.
I got this piercing and it was super painful. The pain radiated out the side of my face and half my head was throbbing when I left the piercing parlour. I got it pierced with a heart which was super cute but just wouldn't heal. I swapped it for a ring a year later and it healed up with no issues after that. It's my favorite piercing and I have had no issues sleeping with it or with earbuds.
Ive thought about this one for several years and gone back and forth with it. I am now on Topamax and soon to go on Aimovig as soon as Im approved which is a once a month injection and Ive gone from averaging 5 migraines a week to less than 15 since last September! HUGE difference! I may still get the piercing but I have Ehlers-Danlos so I dont heal very fast so I have to consider that. That and Im 60 now and, well not exactly looking like a kid anymore but I still like to have fun even though Im pretty crippled up. I may still go for it. If you were here I may just go for it! lol
That's the beauty of being old; we can do what we want and not care what anyone thinks! All my life I've wanted tats and piercings but couldn't for one reason or another (mostly older family members that didn't approve.) I'm 61 now, and a widow, and now have the freedom to shape myself the way I've always wanted. I can't WAIT to get my daith and tragus done. I have occasional migraines but expect the piercing likely won't help, but I love how it looks, so it's the next up, hopefully this week.
I can understand how the noise is complained about more than the pain! I told my piercer that it was like performing ear dentistry, it was so much so like having someone poke around in your mouth with a scraping tool in terms of sound. My piercing wouldn't go in the way my piercer was setting up and **that** hurt like nothing else - comparable to my industrial. The actual piercing was wasn't bad though! My ears are just a bit condensed and slightly harder to get angled right.
No more migraines! I can vouche for this as I did both sides the same day 🥰 On one side (right side) I heard a pop so i will presume that was the pressure point. If in doubt do both sides!
I got my Daith piercing yesterday. I thought it would be a breeze considering I didn’t flinch with my conch or my industrial…boy was I wrong. 11/10 on the pain scale for me. My sister wants her and I’ve warned her of how painful it was
I got mine and people are saying is a placebo affect but hey its helping me I sometimes get headache but definitely not as much when my migraines lasted up to weeks but it definently helped me out with my migraines working with paint and mixing chemicals made my migranes horrible! After I got the piercing the chemicals don't even bother my headaches anymore!
I got my daith a few months ago and unfortunately it hasn't helped me (so far) with my headaches/migraines, but I was content with the possiblilty of it not doing anything for me before I even got it. I was just happy to have such a nice piercing. Anyway, what wasn't nice was the awful crunching sound when the needle went through; that took me by surprise more than anything! The first 3 months of it healing were a bitch. I was in zero pain for the first 3 days and then my jaw on that side ached for about 36 hours. Took some painkillers and it went away. The worst were the bumps I got on both sides which didn't go away for 4 weeks. They were painful and just looked gross. It's all good now and I definitely don't regret getting it, even if it has no effect on my migraines/headaches.
First off, let me just say that I really can't handle how gorgeous this gentleman is..... seriously. Whomever snagged him HAD BETTER HOLD ON TO HIM TIGHT!!!!! Great video, btw. I tried doing this a year ago and I couldn't go thru with it. I got the needle thru, but it made my head pound really badly where I had to take the needle out. The headache continued for at least 4 days, even after taking percocet. Is it possible that I may have hit a nerve or something?????
Got both mine done in December at Primitive Accents by Tony (Snow & shoppe owner) When pierced mine itttt was so quick and so painless! I was flabbergasted! Like a dang Japanese bullet train I tell what! Felt like a harsh tug on my ears and that’s really it (same thing for nipples too actually, been pinched harder and more painful tbh!)😂🎉 Sera did my Septum the week before that and that one of course involuntarily teared up but wasn’t too bad, I unfortunately have a very tiny “sweet spot” but she got it! They’ve all been healing wonderfully! Saw your video title “septum stink!” And I was like WTF?! Thankfully I have no idea what you’re talking about even though I do now, I was fortunate to not get that …. At least smell it for myself! 😅😂😂 I just scheduled consult appointments with Kelsey for later in the day and I’m so fracking excited!! Absolutely should be getting to be riiiight… now! Ok bye! 😂 🍀 🦄
Had my daith done 3-4 weeks ago. There was quite a bit of pressure when it was getting pierced but my other cartilage (all helix) piercings felt more painful afterwards (mostly due to my hair accidentally catching/sleeping on them) and I haven't had any issues with it (no irritation bumps etc like my helixes got). It is a bit more awkward to clean but hey! I love it and cannot see why I was dithering about getting it done for so long!
I just think it looks so beautiful with the right jewelry but I’m also torn between a rook. I don’t think my ear anatomy is the best for a daith but I’ll definitely pick my piercer’s brain.😃
I just got my daith done a couple months ago. It was decently painful, but not the worst. Maybe a 6-7 out of 10 - not horrible. However, for some reason, it made me almost pass out. I got super hot, light headed, tunnel vision, thought I was going to throw up. Which is crazy because I’ve had a TON of piercings done and most of the time I don’t react that way. I’ve only ever reacted that way with one other piercing before. Ear piercings are typically very easy for me and no big deal, idk why I almost passed out. But with all that said, it was so worth it. I absolutely love it. It is taking a little while to heal, and I’ve had to get emu oil to help take care of a little piercing bump. It’s not healed yet, but it’s well on its way and it’s not too difficult in terms of sleeping on or accidentally bumping. You do have to be careful with ear buds or ear phones though.
When I spoke to a piercing expert, he advised me to go to an acupuncturist first, with an active migraine, and if acupuncture aided the migraine, then they could mark the door, and the daith would then have the best chance to be effective.
I got this piercing a week ago and i was soooo scared because most of the people who got daith piercing said getting it was really painful, but for me it hurt about a 2, I didn’t feel anything. Maybe it was because I got my nipples piercings and the christina piercing a year ago and those hurt 1000x more.
My daith was so painful, I said many colourful words! Definitely my most painful, I thought my help was bad….until I got my daith 😬 My friend however said hers didn’t hurt much!
I got it for the looks and the migraine potential. and for me it has worked, I used to get migraines every day for several hours, and now I only get normal headaches and the rare migraine.
