Tragus was crunchy. Took FOREVER to heal. Got infected. Went to a emergent care and was put on antibiotics. Now, two years later it is perfect. Love it! Nurse here. Have difficulty with my stethoscope.
@@Huening_Kai_is_Life I’ve had mine for 2 years and after a few mounts I slept on it fine, I still sleep on it to this day :) once it’s healed you can sleep on it. I hope this helped 😊
@@Huening_Kai_is_Life had it for 4 years now. you'll love it! Everyone's experience is different tho. Try not to sleep on it for a while. To me It wasn't that painful, i experienced a bump and some swelling. Was able to change the piercing in a month or so. Earphones were a hazard tho. Hope this helps
Mine are 30 years old now. I had them done in early March of 1992. Yep, still a favorite piercing of mine. I had both done at the same time. 14 gauge. (Jan Griffiths).
@@Huening_Kai_is_Life I've had my helix for 5 years and still have trouble sleep tragus for 3 weeks and can lay on it no worries, I still avoid it cause it's still healing but when i turn over I can feel it al all
This video helped me make up my mind about getting my tragus. It's been a week and it was completely painless and hasn't given me any problems. Completely worth it.
@@ZeeKansiime Just a friendly advice if you get it done. Just because the pain is gone, it doesn't mean you can't mess it up. The pain goes away quickly (in my case it was sore for 1 day and then I didn't feel anything), but then I made the common mistake of trying to clean it too much and moving it around. It got red and my ear was hurting really bad for a day to two. So, leave it alone and be veeery gentle :D
@@zi6803 mind my asking, is it easy to clean the inside of the ear w/ a cotton swab when having the tragus piercing? I am worried that it might hinder the ear opening. thanks in advance
@@kitz0000cb hey, this really depends on each persons ear. I was worried as well, but I have quite a lot of space between the piercing and my skin, so I can use the cotton swab completely normal without even touching the piercing (and I still have the original length in). When I got it done I didn't clean my ears for around a week (I know, I suffered), after that I slowly started to gently clean my ear but leaving out the tragus part, and now after 5 months I clean my whole ear normally. If you have small space around the opening of your ear you just need to be gentle and try not to touch the piercing, because it will sting. After a few months or weeks, depending on your healing you can push the tragus piercing outside your ear if you lack the space. I would still suggest using a wet paper towel for the piercing though as it softens up the crusties and it's much easier and it won't irritate the skin as much as a cotton swab.
I am shocked about other people's stories!! It's fascinating how each body is different. Mine didn't hurt at all and it healed so so fast and i was even using earphones
Yesss mine too ...i was like wearing earphones after 4 days and sleep on that side same night i get piercing but i put my hand under my head to low the preassure .. it takes me 3 nights like that and with a little pain but after that i sleep normaly on that side ..(i sleep on both sides)
I got my tragus pierced yesterday and can say it didn't even hurt. The pain was a 1/10 for sure, and it was super fast. They say putting the actual jewelry in hurts more, but I all I felt was some pressure. This is your sign to just go for it! Even if it does hurt for you, it will be done already, and you will have your piercing!
I have tragus piercing and it didn't hurt even a bit. And my healing process was pretty short. 😇 Additional information: I had my daith piercing done as well. Too bad I didn't take a good care of it, so it hasn't healed yet; it is almost 6 months. But it didn't hurt either. P.S. It is 8 months and my daith piercing is healed at last. It is awesome.
Jamiah Michelle look into buying a neck travel pillow, I got my tragus done a month ago and I've been laying my head on a travel pillow so I don't put pressure on it.
Yes! I went to a tattoo shop and the piercer was struggling, and I felt it!! I had 1 tragus done months before and it was fine didn’t hurt but when I went to get the other it hurt.
I watched this video at four in the morning yesterday, and at 1pm I got the piercing. It's the first "spontaneous" piercing I've ever gotten. It's my 15th piercing, and I love it! I went to an APP certified studio in Fort Lauderdale and I had the best experience! They used a clamp to hold my tragus, and I felt that more than the piercing itself (also, I didn't hear a crunch noise? It was relatively silent, more like a pop if anything). I would say this was the least painful piercing I've ever gotten, it even hurt less than my lobe piercings. Highly recommend!!
I've eyeballed it for a good 12 years! I finally caved and got one. I didn't care for how popular they were and I always wanted to be unique. They are always cute on people!
My tragus was my first non- traditional (non lobe) piercing! I love it so so much and honestly identify with it lol. It’s so cute and I love how many different styles of jewelry I can wear. It honestly didn’t really hurt to have pierced, just a little uncomfy. It didn’t hurt at all to sleep on, I didn’t really get what people were complaining about😂 also, love love your videos, very informative and fun. Keep it up!
By far my least painful piercing. Seriously I had no idea my piercer had already pierced it and put the jewelry in. I also think it looks great. I recommend it to all my friends.
My tragus was the least painful and the fastest healing piercing I’ve had so far. Just some pressure and maybe a slight headache afterwards that goes away after a couple hours at most. My navel piercing honestly hurt more.
Same!! The only piercing that has given me issues was my helix. I get there, they pierce it but with a hoop. First mistake apparently. Then, the guy can’t get the hoop to wrap around like it’s supposed to. So he had to re-pierce it. It swelled so bad I had to get antibiotics for it. Thankfully all is well now.
I've had both of mine done in 1992---both at the same visit. They were pierced @ 14 gauge, and I chose labret studs instead of rings. There was no "crunch". Felt a bit of pressure but no pain really. I wear anodized titanium seamless clickers in them now, colored blue. I have rather large tragii, and they were pierced slightly above center. Never gave a lick of trouble. Still one of my favorite piercings. Another great video, Scott. Thank you. (Jan Griffiths).
I also had them both at the same time. First one I almost did not feel. Second one hurt more. Woman who did it said that could happen. Did not feel it agter one week, but I obviously waited it to heal for at least 3 months.
This video def convinced me to get the tragus piercing. I was pretty much already convinced I wanted one, but this vid with its professional & detailed information guaranteed I'm booking in to have it done! Great video & very informative!!
I got my tragus pierced last year. Healing process was easy. The pain was a 1/10 in my opinion, super easy and very cute. Lol it is definitely hard to change in my opinion (maybe cause my ears are small) but easy to clean. I am gonna get my other side done !
I had my tragus, it sadly closed up after taking them out for few days due to surgery. I actually found the tragus to be one of my most painful piercings, and I've had well over 30+ piercings done, many in my ears. But it was more of a pressure vs sharp pain! It was one of my favorite though! RIP my tragus piercing 2022
Holy shit why have I never thought about my pillow case before. I'm not a dirty person but for some reason I never thought about my pillow case having bacteria on it.
idk why, but I love the sound of your voice😄 I watched ur video on the angel bites (fangs) so I finally got bold enough to get em. Even tho I already had 3 piercings on my bottom lip and 11more total. Your videos are very informative, and I like the pain-O-meter. That helps a lot. Thank you for your videos!!
I had my tragus “professionally” pierced, two days later it was severely INFECTED, dad had to cut the jewellery out my ear, I was in tears, dad marched down to the piercing place and asked for a longer barbell, after that it was completely alright, not even the piercer knew what she did wrong
Watched this video before deciding to get my tragus and was nervous about the “crunch” you mentioned. When I actually got it this past Tuesday, I didn’t hear anything other than a soft “whoosh.” lol It could also be my pain tolerance for cartilage piercings, but it felt like intense pressure rather than a stab. 8/10 would recommend!
My favorite piercings, hands down. My body tends to get irritated by my piercings (or at worst, reject them) regardless of how well I do taking care of them so when these were so easy to take care of, I was ecstatic.
Glad to have come across this video before making my decision to add another piercing... I found it to be informative and helpful.😊 I honestly wasn't expecting that it would be possible to have a tragus piercing on my ear because I thought my tragus was too tiny and might reject the jewelry. But (THANKFULLY!) my piercer said I had enough room for it. I finally had my tragus done just over a week ago and safe to say this tiny piercing is my favorite... 2/10 on the pain scale and it's really cute! Can't wait for it to be fully healed soon.😁
I had my tragus and anti tragus, along with about 8 other ear piercings because my best friend was a piercer but parents were not down with facial piercings (yes I was an adult but I still didn’t want to disrespect my parents). They were my favorites ever, especially anti tragus because it was kinda rare. Edit: ALSO, there is some (mostly anecdotal) evidence that tragus piercings (as well as daith) help prevent migraines. 🤷🏻♀️
How did you find the anti in terms of healing? I've got quite a good triangular bit above my 5 lobe piercings but it does turn outwards a tad and I'm debating if I'd get away with that as well as the 5. Got the tragus done today, and may try an orbital next as the piercer said I have nice space between the top of the 5 and my industrial, but am undecided about an anti-tragus.
I’ve had my tragus about 3 years and it didn’t hurt at all! The only weird thing was the pop. As if somebody made a “pop” sound with their lips. Otherwise it was great and one of my favorites ❤️❤️
For me, getting it pierced didn't hurt at all. It was a few days after that the swelling kicked in. Felt like I was losing my hearing on that side and I had a huge headache from the pain and throbbing. 😩
I just got mine done about a week ago it was fine for the first like 4 days but now it hurts so bad and it's really swollen Does it just go away I've been cleaning it 2x a day and not sleeping in it so idk what to do
@@junko791 see a dr or go back to the piercer asap! If it's nothing, they'll tell you. If it's something, they'll tell you. Sorry I can't be more helpful
I got mine done about 2 weeks ago. I honestly thought it was pretty painful compared to other piercings in the past. No crunch on mine. It's healing incredibly fast. I can move the bar through the hole without any pain (can put headphones in.) I highly recommend real sea salt soaks. I won't use a saline spray. Sea salt, natures healer!
I have a tragus piercing on my left ear and its so lovely. its so far the best piercing I have and it didn't take more than three months to heal because I had to take all precautions to just avoid infection and pain.
Everyone on here saying it didn't hurt at all😅mine was RUFF. I'm on day 4, it's not throbbing or anything but definitely sore and swollen. Any time I touch my face near my ear I can feel how tender it is😬here's to easy healing!!
I got both tragus pierced at the same time. Worst idea ever, it was 5 months of the worst pain, even moving my neck and touching near them hurt so much! Also I couldn't sleep, they were hot, red and swelled and getting worse every day. So I took the right one out and the left stopped hurting in a couple of days and it was healed a month later.
I had mine done over twenty years ago. Had it done with a needle. It did hurt, and I did sort of faint when I left the shop, my knees went from under me. I just showered it every morning and absolutely didn’t touch it. Changed the jewellery after six months. Even now I wouldn’t leave jewellery out of it because my piercings tend to start healing up when I remove rings etc.
Got my tragus piercing when I was in high school and now I'm a high school teacher. My students got curious cause I have multiple piercing daith, rook, triple helix forward but tragus is still may favorite 😅☺️
I have had my Tragus for nearly 4 years. Only had a little bit of trouble healing it, I got hit in the head by a ball which whacked the fresh piercing, that was more painful then getting it done. Absolutely love mine, I’ve had a gem in that piercing the whole time and love it!
I'm getting my Tragus in 13 days from writing this, I've had my Industrial, Rook, and Helixes. And now I'm adding to my collection of cartilage piercings with a conch and a tragus, I'm honestly excited about it, and interested if I hear the crunch/popping noise. I just genuinely hope it hurts about as much as my rook/industrial which I didn't really feel
You have so many of the same piercings I want! I have double lobes and industrial. I have just recently been able to got them so I only have a few. I want a rook conch helix Tragus and constellation lobe piercing. Of course this is going to be over a very long time since I want to make sure everything is healed properly.
@@Huening_Kai_is_Life you won't be able to sleep on that side for up to a year, but after it's fully healed and you have it the correct size you can sleep on it. I just recently got it this last Friday and it's fine
@@heatheralisa8658 absolutly! go for it, I started getting pierced around age 17 with my thirds (at the time seconds) and then moved on to other piercings, I usually get 3 every 6 months or so. so I can get up to 5-6 in a year
I got my tragus and my rook done at the same time. I was fine with my rook but the tragus killed. The whole left side of my face swelled up and it was awful. It’s all healed and cute as heck now. But it was definitely rough going for me. No idea why that happened, never had problems before with any of my others. So odd.
My tragus took over a year to heal, mainly because the flatback of it irritated my contact dermatitis so once I changed it to a hoop it basically healed overnight. It's one of my favourite piercings!
Got my nose pierced 5 weeks ago today and the needle going in took my breath away painful. Got my tragus done today and found it practically pain free. Had no problems with my nose for the 5 weeks hoping my tragus is going to be like that
My ferret bit and latched onto my tragus. Laying on my back with her as she did it, was surprisingly not painful. Would be rude not to pierce it in her honor 😅
I had a tragus piercing, and with my low pain threshold, it hurt me by 6/10. I walked with one earphone, removed my hair from my ear, slept on the other side, did not touch the jewelry (implantation titanium) and washed the piercing regularly with special means. It did not heal in any way, it became inflamed very easily, and after a year I got tired and took it off. Now I'm thinking of doing this piercing again, despite the painfulness of the process, but I'm afraid that it won't heal again and I'll just suffer in vain.
Got my tragus and anti tragus yesterday. Anti tragus hurt more, and my piercer must’ve found the sweet spot because there was barely any resistance and no crunch. One thing you didn’t mention was it can be a bit tender to smile too big or big jaw movements
My tragus was cruuuuuunchy. It was my 19th piercing and I've had everything in my ears except the snug. It was the only one I made a noise on, purely because I got a fright from the crunch and the fact the piercer had to push so hard. It's so temperamental for me but it's still healing. Just have to give it time
my 1st after common lobe piercing... when I saw it on a tv in one of the survivor cast as far as I remember, and it became my favorite piercing now... tragus👂
Coming up on a year and both aren’t fully healed yet - I do it to my self by sleeping on them every now and then. When they’re not pissed off they look great!
I just got mine done about four days ago and yesterday I noticed soreness and swelling so I’ve been putting a cold pack on it. Been moving it so is that normal and I love your page this is my first time on it, but it won’t be my last. Thank you.🙏🏾
Also once it’s all healed up and the swelling is gone you can change the jewelry to have a shorter bar! That’s what I did and it completely reduced the irritation I would get from wearing earbuds.
I just got mine done yesterday; whooooooo boyyyy. It definitely hurt. For comparison, I got my daith on the opposite ear done about a month ago and I felt NOTHING. the tragus is okay now; it throbbed for a good couple hours and was bleeding a bit, but for now it only stings when I’m cleaning it. On a side note: lobe piercings are so much better with needles lol. First two were done with a gun bc I didn’t know any better but this third one was an absolute breeze
My bottom one was a needle and the other 4 were with a gun (40 years ago now), I had more trouble in the initial heal with one of the needle ones, but once healed, the needle ones now are much better.
I just got mine done yesterday. The pain wasn’t bad! It was more pressure and a crunch at the end. Still by far out of my nipples, nose, and cartilage, my nose was the worse! Least painful were my nipples.
i got my tragus piercing 2 months ago, gave up on it because it was obviously pierced at a wrong angle, creating stubborn piercing bumps. it was placed higher at the back and lower at the front. i was so sad i had to abandon it. i'll try again maybe next time.
I had my tragus piercing done in February 2020. About a month or so later, I noticed that my skin grew over the flat part of the labret stud on the back of my tragus. The very next morning I went to the same piercer as soon as they were available... she had to take a scalpel and cut the back to take the jewelry out. She ended up replacing it with a longer labret... ever since then (now almost September) I’ve had a large bump on the back, exactly like the picture at 0:51 . I love my piercing but i am having a hell of a time trying to heal it
I decided to pierce my Tragus by myself yesterday...... and then decided to do some research about it today. well, it is kind of annoying to deal with most of the time when i wash my face and pull my hair up because i tend to forget i have it. I clean it with Saline Solution in the inner and outer part with Q-tips, and soak a paper towel/tissue and place it on there with no pressure for about a minute or so. Yeah, it's cute and can't wait for the time i can change it. I have flat ended stud on it currently.
My tragus hurt really bad...just wasn’t expecting to hear the crunch. Def should of watched this before getting it but overall my tragus looks amazing!!
I’m 70 and have mine done. I did the left one too shallow and it came out and sort of ripped my ear there. I redid and it’s fine. I never had any issues other than messing up the left.
I got my tragus and rook pierced yesterday .for tragus pain level I would say 1-2 , just a little pinch almost felt nothing . Rook was a little bit more painful something like 5 but not terrible.
I just got my tragus pierced like an hour ago and it only hurt a little I got a bit scared cause there was blood but I didn't hear a crunch or anything and I would recommend getting it
I had been thinking of what piercings to add to my ears, and finally got both my tragi pierced last week. They hurt more than both my daiths. The first few days have been gnarly, one had massive bruising and the other bled heavily for several hours on Day 1. Cleaning has been tricky. By comparison, my daiths have been so much easier
I got it pierced and it didn’t hurt at all just a lot of pressure and I didn’t bleed either. the piercer just told me I had a thick tragus lol 😂 and even after almost a week I haven’t seen any crusties or anything when I’m cleaning it o.O I guess it just depends
I pierced it myself and I've had it for 2 years. Plus I had no problems with the healing process. It was an impulse but I got lucky cuz I'm not a professional.
Wow i must be the only one who found the tragus agony to get done. It honestly felt like a blowtorch on the side of my face and feltlike it was going on forever. Took at least a year to heal but it really is beautiful. I love.it. It did swell up and also had bumps even after 8 months but i left it alone and few months later it just healed up & settled in nicely. Im booked in to get my rook done in 2 days time.
