I have my nostril piercing on the right because I had a large pore that looked like a piercing hole so I got it pierced. Probably one of the more strange reasons for getting a piercing.
I did the same thing with my lip! Got my upper right side of my lip pierced instead of my left like everyone suggested cause I had a dark spot leftover from a pimple and wanted it there
I just got my second nostril done! When it was swelling it looked so crooked for days, I was so depressed and distraught about it honestly. As the healing process has been going on, it looks perfectly matched to my other one on the other side!
I’ve had my nostril for almost 2 years now and I was quite surprised by the pain meter lol. When I got it done the pain was like 6/10 for me which is the worst piercing pain I’ve felt yet. But it healed really really nicely with no problems and I love it
yeah i have to say, my nostril by far is the most painful I've had done, not as if it was unbearable or anything but it's the only one that brought a tear to my eye, i used to have an industrial and that was like nothing compared to the nostril
My left side is my “selfie side”, but I got my right nostril pierced because my hair part is on the right side of my head which means my hair goes off to my left side. Hair to my left, nostril piercing on my right. Visual balance
This is the exact reason I got mine on my left side. Left side parting makes my hair go to the right and that hair often gets in my face and covers the right side of my nose.
My right nostril piercing was one of the most painful piercings I’ve ever had. Four years later I decided to get my left one done at the same time as my septum. The left one barely hurt. It’s crazy how different the two sides were. Now my septum was a whole other ball game. That sucker was a narly weird pain that left me light headed.
got both my nostrils pierced literally yesterday and WOW it hurt, honestly minus my triple helix it was the worst, I didn't expect it to hurt as bad as it did! First time I have actually cried during a piercing
I've had my nose pierced since 2008, didn't hurt much to me, but did take a whole year to heal properly. I teared up too but that's because you have nerves in your face, that run from your nose up to your eyes, and when you assault said nerves by the nose, the ones by the eyes don't like that, and it's basically a reflex.
Omg im not the only one that felt strong pain!! People everywhere say it’s like a pinch but nooo I physically jerked and whimpered when the needle went in
I’ve had my nose pierced for 5 years. Be cautious and you’ve got nothing to worry about. I LOVE this piercing and will have it until the day I die. Also keep it clean during the healing process! I chose the right side because it’s my selfie side lol
@@lovuxunu Mine hurt too, but the pain didn’t linger very long! A single tear slipped from my eye 😢 It probably only hurt like twice as much as a lobe piercing imo!
@@lovuxunu I remember when the needle went through, a single tear slid down my face because of how sensitive my nose is, but it only hurt in that moment lol
I only ever realized how often I hit myself in the face when I got that piercing. Had it for 1,5 years and it's finally healing off now. I love it though!
@@PiercingWithScott I had mine done three weeks ago my piercer said I could change my spiral piercing however I have lifted skin or bump near the pierced hole I haven’t caught it so any idea as to why I have or why I could have it?
Got my nostril pierced and it’s not that bad. Aside from a quick sharp pinch and the teary eyes, it’s really not too much to worry about, pain wise. But like he said, getting it caught really does hurt and I even forgot that I had it about 3 days after getting it pierced and I actually tried to wipe my face like I normally do in the shower to get the water away from my eyes and nose… and yes, it hurts and stings. Even worse than getting it done. But yeah, keep yourself, your wound and your surroundings clean (bedding, towels, clothes, etc) and you’ll be just fine. No bump ever with mine during the healing process. So not much I can say about that.
I got mine done three days ago! I love it. Hurt less than getting the COVID vaccine a month ago. I got my left side done after asking the piercer which side would look better.
yeah! i got mine pierced a few months back, sadly it fell out and the hole closed most of the way, and i repierced it myself (DO NOT RECOMMEND VERY UNPLEASANT) and afterwards, i was having some issues, but its better now, and its just so dang cool!
I have had my nose piercing for almost 20 years. My bestie and I got it pierced as soon as we turned 18. She did her left side and I did my right side. I still love my piercing till this day. I'll be wearing it for another 20 years to come if I'm lucky.
Just got a double nostril piercing on my right side and it literally was the slightest pinch. I’ve had vaccinations that hurt more than my nostril piercings did. It’s been a breeze thus far. I’m so glad I got it on a whim. I love it!
Growing up I never liked my nose and didn’t think a nose piercing would ever suit me, aged 24 now and was inspired by my sister to finally get one as it really suited her (we have similar features) and 6 months later I recently got my 3rd (2 on one side one on the other) not only are they my favourite piercings but I genuinely like my nose now, I think they have really improved a big insecurity I used to have. A nose piercing with the right jewellery will suit anyone.
i got my left nostril pierced when i was 12 (don't worry, my parents weren't irresponsible, it was left nostril for "lady pains") and it barely hurt, my eyes watered a lot as i remember but the piercing itself wasn't bad, i recommend this! the anticipation of the pain is the worst part
I have mine done on the right nostril because I have my left helix pierced and I thought it would look more balanced. To me, the nostril hurt more than the helix during piercing, but stopped hurting entirely in around 2 days! My helix was sore for what felt like 2 weeks despite being pretty easy during the piercing. Super happy with my nostril piercing and I think it looks so cute.
Watched this video in the parking lot of the piercing studio while deciding if i should get it or not. I just got it done and I love it. It didn't hurt too badly. Mine bled a lot though. It's a tiny bit sore, but it looks good enough that I don't mind the pain too much.
I got mine pierced yesterday! It was my first piercing since my earlobes when I was maybe 4 haha. I chose my right side because I’m blind in my left eye, and I want to be able to see it :)
I love my nostril piercing!! It's probably my favorite piercing that I have. My next favorite is my eyebrow. I look so great with both of those piercings!! ☺️
one thing I wish I knew when I got my nostril and septum done is be VERY careful when blowing your nose and (gross sorry) the amount of snot and bogies you have to clean off the jewellery is INSANE! Both my nostril and septum are healed now and I prefer titanium jewellery . Another fab video
I got my right nostril pierced because I have a helix piercing in my left ear so wanted to even it out. I also have my tounge pierced and a tragus stud in each ear as well as a huggie earring and a stud earring above it in each ear. Love your videos. Very fun and informative. Thanks for doing what you do.
I chose the right side for my nostril, because I have split hair and wanted to put emphasis on the "darker" side. My right side is dark brown and I have a black ring in my nose, so I thought that was very fitting. Great video! Still waiting for it to heal completely.
I got my nostril pierced at least 5 years ago. Didn’t hurt anymore than my cartilage piercing, but my eyes did water quite a bit. I got mine on my left nostril because my cartilage is on my right ear. I wanted to balance out my piercings.
Just got my left side pierced yesterday for my 18th birthday! The way I picked which side was just looking in a mirror, then looking at my mom and going "left side?" And her responding with a nod, "left side." Side note my mom's pretty sure my piercer was high but it didn't affect his work at all and I was in and out in 5, 10 minutes tops lmao
I've had mine for 15 years now (right side) - I used some rhinestone stickers one either side to pick which nostril I wanted to pierce back in the day. I actually love the asymmetric style and don't plan to ever pierce the other side. I'm a huge fan of nostril rings, and captive bead rings since they never catch on anything like the studs do.
Have an appointment to get mine done at your shop in a couple days, this video helps my nerves... also like your other videos mentioning Redwing, MN and wearing a MN shirt as I grew up and went to school in MN as well!
No pain tolerance so mine hurt a lot, but the fact that I'm afraid of needles and still considering the other one says something. I'm telling you, it's the best if you're insecure about your nose. This thing is like magic.
I remember, the nose was the first piercing I'd ever gotten and the DAY OF, I went to itch my nose by pinching it like I had done all my 16 years and saw every god that ever existed
I just found this channel on my suggestions and I'm so glad I clicked cause this is SO HELPFUL. I don't have many piercings but this has been super handy with making decisions for my next piercings so Thankyou!!
I chose my right side because I mostly sleep on my left...that said, I had no problems sleeping on my right with my nose piercing. Now I avoid it because of my upper cartilage piercing ;-D
I’ve had mine done twice. Once when I was in my early 20’s and again at 52! It’s a 2 second pain, your eyes will water and that’s it. Looking forward to getting my septum done!
This video makes me feel a lot better because I am worried about the pain. This will be my first non ear piercing.. I am getting my nose pierced shortly after Christmas because I'll be traveling a lot this Summer and Fall. I don't want to have to deal with healing a new piercing. I've stuck a sticky gem on my nostril and I really like how it looks. I am so excited!
Had my double nostrils done a week ago. It was I believe the piercings that hurt the less (have/had several others on my face) in my opinion. And double nostrils looks really dope.
I'm Indian, everybody told me to not get it on the right so I got it on the right since I don't wanna give into the patriarchal beliefs. So ig my reason is rebellion.
I got a bad cold only 1 week after getting mine pierced. So it took a little longer to heal due to the irritation but I learned how to blow my nose with a piercing real fast. The pain was similar to my ears when pierced but boy did my eyes water!
I love that you mentioned India in this video because that's where I got mine done! And yes, I got it done on the left because that's what the Indians do, as you mentioned 😊
i got both of my nostrils done at the same time. i would rate the pain to the MOST 5 out of 10. it really was the least painless out of my piercings. the healing process on the other hand, it's been pretty difficult. definitely make sure to not get it snagged on things and if you're like me and like to sleep on your side where your face is up against your pillow, make sure to try and keep pressure off your nose as much as possible.
I had my right side pierced a few years ago because my left side is my "selfie side" so I figured, why dazzle up what's already good and pierced the other side to give me a bit more confidence. And it worked!
I got both sides pierced! Unfortunately there was a slight discrepancy in placement and we decided to take one side out a couple of days after piercing and booked a re-pierce. I’m going in on Friday to have it re-done and I have to admit I’m so excited to have that side back!
I'm getting pierced tomorrow! I am so excited! Personally I do it on the left side, even though my selfie side is on the right, to balance with my expander and my conch at my right ear. 👂 Thank you for this video!! 🌞🇨🇵
I'm getting my m=nostril done in like an hour and I'm getting super nervous and your videos are so helpful. Also i'm getting my right side done because I have my left eyebrow pierced. Balance :)
I had my left nostril pierced! i have a thing where all of my piercings go either on my left side or down the middle of my body. the reason for that is i pierced my own left lobe when i was 14 and then my left ear stretched way better than the right one, so i just went with it. now i only have the one regular lobe piercing on my right side where i occasionally wear regular dangly earrings, and the left side is the fun one 🎉
Me and my sister both got nostril piercings on the same day about a year ago. The only downside, other than what Scott mentions in the video, is both of us had our nostrils bleed pretty bad after we left the piercer
I just got my nostril pierced on the left side. Partially because it’s traditional in India and I love Indian culture, art, etc (although I’m not Indian, I just really appreciate everything about India) but I also got it because it’s my selfie side. As far as pain goes, it wasn’t that bad. I’ve had a lot worse pain, like a compound fracture in my leg…that was a 12 out of 10, lol. I’m say this one was a 3 or 4 out of 10. So far I love it. The nostril is a very attractive and sexy piercing. And it’s doing quite well. It’s just slightly red after a few days, like my ear piercings all were, but nothing earth shaking. My ears were redder each time I stretched them. I’ve been keeping my nostril piercing clean with wound wash and helping the healing along with homemade saline spray. (sea salt and distilled water) It’s just slightly tender. Of course I never, ever touch it with my hands, only a clean and moist cotton ball, so I’m sure that helps. But…Keeping my fingers crossed that I don’t get any bumps. Next I’m getting each tragus in my ears done one at a time (so I can talk on the phone and such) and also I’m having my daiths done. I hear both these piercings can help reduce chronic headaches, and wow, do I have those. But who knows…they just will look super cool with my nostril piercing and I’m looking forward to that!
I chose the left side. I part my hair on the right. Symmetry is also a factor. Thanks for the video. It's so helpful. Got my nose pierced today! I love it!
Got mine yesterday to add with my lobes and septum. I love it!!! My first thought was “damn I shoulda got the other side as well” so I’m definitely doing that when I’m healed
I have each side of my nose done. The first one hurt worst for some reason. One mistake I made was keeping the long bar in for too long (apparently it was 10mm long!)
I've got one on each nostril. As well as my septum and I love the way it looks. Especially when I coordinate my septum jewelry to my nostril jewelry. Mine was pretty pain free. My left side was a little bit more uncomfortable then the right, but still not bad. I healed pretty easily too. Only has a slight irrigation bump on my left side, but thats because I downsized it probably a couple weeks too soon. But they are both perfectly healed now and I love all my nose piercings!
I actually decided I would not get my selfie side pierced because I felt my Instagram was a bit right-sided 😅 So I wanted to make myself take pictures of the left side as well. Kinda worked!
impulsively got it done one day on my right side (i didnt even think of placement tbh) pain: 1/10, didn't even feel the needle go through healing: 2/10, caught it on my towel once and the stud came out, it hurt like hell healed now, recently changed it into a hoop last week :)
I've had both nostrils pierced for years now. I don't remember it being painful, and had both done the same time. The right one is 14 gauge, and the left is 16 gauge. The right has the clicker, the left has the stud. (Jan Griffiths).
That makes sense. This is my second time getting my nostril pierced as the first one closed when I took it to it for work. I hated the healing process the first time, as it kept snagging on things. It took almost 2 years the first time. This second time, I’ve had no problems, and I haven’t snagged it at all. But, it hurt more to pierce the same spot the second time. I got my left side pierced as I’m left handed and knew that it would be easier to maneuver out with my dominant hand, and that’s also my good side when taking photos.
i part my hair to the left so i got two piercings on my right nostril in july 2019. i also part my hair down the middle so i've sat on the idea of symmetrical piercings for almost 2 years now and i'm ready to get two on my left nostril in the next month
I got mine on the left side because I have a mole on my left wrist and that is where I always look to see which is the left and which is the right. I tought if I got it on my left I can finally tell where left is without looking down. So far it's working!
I just found your channel and I’m obsessed with your videos. They have the right length, all information you’ll need and pictures to show exactly what you mean. Love it!
I have both nostrils done now- but I started with my left. I'm right handed, but I just felt my left side was my most attractive side to my face! Now that I have two, I can rock both sides of my face with confidence! Pain level for me, for both, I'd actually give it a 7/10. Maybe a 6/10..? It hurt so much, so incredibly bad. I have very thick nose cartilage compared to most people I know who have had this done. TW BLOOD: I bled on both sides a pretty considerable amount. For my most recent stab, my piercer asked me to lay back instead of sit up.. Blood ran right down the inside of my throat- very nice 😂
Got my right side done 5 years ago. Placed it on the right to balance out my Monroe. Got the left nostril pierced in January and can't wait to finish healing so I can rock the double hoops ❤
been really enjoying your videos! love learning about different piercings regardless if I particularly want them or not. would you ever do a video on antitragus piercings?
My nose piercing was just a little pinch. Easy healing process as well. I like my left side pierced better bc of right side having Tragus pierced. And I wear ear cuffs and bar for fun on my right ear so right ear has a lot going on. 🤣🤪
I had more piercings on one ear then the other so I picked to get it on the more plain side to even it out but I still want a septum piercing and a conch to even it out completely
I got mine done two weeks ago along with a septum. it hurt like hell, specially when my piercer was threading the jewelry through. id love to get one on the opposite side too, but idk if i wanna go through the pain again XD
got my nose pierced a couple years ago on my left side with a stud. i chose my left bc it's lowkey my "selfie side" and i just had a feeling that that would be the perfect side to have it on. it healed so nicely and im so glad i got it done! i honestly can't picture myself without it lol
I got both my nostrils done at once and she put in nostril screws in them. They are kinda indeed annoying and I’ve accidentally ripped them out a few times, especially the right one, with towels and while rubbing my face in the morning. It took a while before I got used to them being there and for me to adapt to them, so it hasn’t happened for a while now. I did develop a small irritation bump on the right one, probably because it got snagged more than the other, but with several daily lukewarm saline soaks and lots of care it’s almost completely gone and it looks fantastic! I also have a septum piercing from before and together it looks SO good.
I got my right nostril done last month and I'm obsessed with it! I have very prominent dimples on each side of my nose and wanted to accentuate them, but my body takes a while to heal so I chose to just do one at a time. I chose to do the right side first mostly because I sleep on my left, but it also happens to be my "selfie side"! 😊
I chose the right side because I had nasal damage during a surgery, the left side gets bloody noses more. My Daughter also chose the right side so we could match. we got them done the same day.
Had mine done about 2 months ago (don't have the feeling it's really completely healed yet) and I chose the side of my face I like more☺️ which isn't really my selfie side, I don't think I even have a selfie side 🤣
Thank you Scott I got my paired nostrils done yesterday and I love them. I couldn't pick a side and I have my septum done so wanted symmetry. You're so right about the pain, honestly mine hurt less than septum and my second lobes! When I had my septum done (correctly) my whole nose felt like it'd been punched whereas with doubles it's just mildly achey. Fingers crossed my healing is good
Just got my left side done as I had my right side cauterized a few years ago due to nosebleeds. Already knocked it like 3 times with my glasses so that's a new one!
I had the right side pierced and tbh it was pretty painless but still makes your eyes water a little but not because it hurts, just because of where it is. I had mine pierced with a screw but, I wasn't warned to watch catching it. Within a few hours I was back at the studio and got a captive ring replacement. I found it more comfortable and safer with no more 'snagging'.
I had mine pierced in the left side last week. It hurt more than I expected but it really helped to squeeze me eyes tightly shut and focus on deep breathing and it was over pretty fast. I got a flat back titanium stud and so far, so good.
I'm getting my nostril done the same day as my daith.. I had it done when I was 17 in the late 90's. Really poor material and shoddy aftercare on my part. Now I'm a lot more aware of the do's and don'ts now and am looking forward to revisiting the piercing as a new person. I'm getting the left side done. I just think it'll look flattering. Thanks for the video and all the best for 2023 xx
I only have 1 piercing aside from my ears and I’m getting my tongue soon, but I’ve had to get my nose done about 4 different times but I have my nose pierced on my left side but I didn’t chose it. Most recently which was a about mid-late February, a few friends and I did mine in my basement on a whim. She’s done a few piercings before but we we’re only 15-17 so it probably wasn’t the best idea but it healed pretty fast. She got perfect placement so I can wear rings and studs. I’m not one to actively take care of piercings and stuff but it felt healed within 2 weeks and actually healed within about 6 (I’m not sure, I’m just guessing.) The first time I’ve got it done was when I just turned 13 and I’m 16 in 2 weeks and I’ve loved it ever since I first got it. It’s not painful whatsoever (and I really can’t handle pain.) The only reason I kept having to take it out was I was in sea cadets for years and it was for safety reasons while sailing. If you’re considering it, you should. Just make sure to take care of it and you’ll be fine :)
It's been 4 months since having mine pierced and I switched to a nose bone after 3 months. A week ago, mine snagged onto the towel and ripped right out. It hurt so bad, especially putting it back in. I have horrible allergies, so a nose bone is ideal for me and I really love my nostril piercing. It was so sore for 4-5 days and while it's still a bit swollen, it isn't sore anymore. I'm definitely being more careful now lol
Omg, glad you mentioned the con of the screw jewelry. My piercer didn’t ask me if I wanted a hoop or stud, gave me a screw, and I ended up taking it out before it healed cuz it looked like a shiny “booger”
I really want to do both nostrils whenever I pull the trigger on it, because symmetry for one thing, but also a dainty little chain over the top of the nose looks SO CUTE!
Got both my nostrils pierced yesterday on Halloween and was expecting it to be on par with the pain of my septum which absolutely killed being clamped but as soon as the needle was through was a piece of cake... my god did my nostrils hurt when the needle went through, clamp was fine but the needle through was definitely same pain level for me as a dislocated kneecap. Majority of my other piercings have never swollen, nostrils swelled straight away and even caused pain in my teeth. A day on, just feels like the ache of a good bruise and I'm so happy I had the guts to do both. Fully trust my piercer and she's helping me curate Aries horns through my facial piercings so giving these a good time to heal, then will be rings and a medusa should finish up to the horns... maybe a dermal either side of nostrils yet but will be discussed with piercer at a much later date. Keep getting pierced people and always go for needle, not a gun!!.
I have double nostril piercings and a septum currently. My left nostril has had no issues during the healing process, but because of the way that the screw is positioned in my right nostril, it knocks against my septum and has caused a slight irritation bump. I think since I have had them for a couple weeks I will change them to internally threaded jewelry to hopefully prevent it from continuing.
My nose deviates slightly to the right so I had mine done on the left that way it’s the most visible like that. As well I was slightly self conscious about my nose not being straight so having a beautiful gold ball on that side really boosts my confidence
I know this vid is 2 yrs old, but thank you. Im getting my nose pierced tomorrow and trying to watch them all. This by far was the must helpful! THANK YOU!!!! 🩵🩵🩵
When i got mine pierced it was healing well for 2 months, but then i switched to a ring too early and got a big bump that has taken just over a month to go down. Also it really doesnt help if you have a dirty or dusty job (e.g an arborist gets covered in sawdust). However i would still get it again!
Im thinking about doing this one on both sides because i love the way nose chains look. I was thinking of doing the septum as well.. Do yall think it's too much? If not should i space the time between them? Pls let me know 🙏
I picked the right because it was different from everyone I knew. Got it done with a turquoise treadless. Really wasn't that painful either. Just a quick spike of pain but that went away quickly
Have had mine pierced for 4 years now, one of my faves. Oddly enough, the pain was a 1 if not 0. All I felt was pressure. My double forward helix was 10 times worse!
