The Wire Clip: Omar and Mouzone take out Stringer Bell

Omar and Brother Mouzone take out Stringer Bell. Them two working together could take out any crew or anyone on the block. Besides Stringer turned into a snitch and was a snake too. Snitches and snakes always meet the end of the road, was just a matter of time for Stringer Bell.

The train noises in the background almost immediately afterwards. The city keeps on moving, the world keeps turning, Stringer’s death means nothing. Clever.
@bellamaz1972
@bellamaz1972 2 года назад
Also, having just watched this episode with a friend who was watching for the first time, I was floored to realize the train air horn noise is in the very first cold open scene with these two and is also in the scene with Avon and Stringer having their last, emotional talk. David Simon doesn’t do that by accident, but I’m still trying to think about the symbolism…

The show is rife with symbolisms and details that foreshadows important events. Every scene is intentional. This what makes The Wire rewatchable and ages like fine wine. I love going to RU-vid to read comments on The Wire scenes. Sometimes people dig really deep, even more than what the director intended and that is also intentional. Its a technique used by many directors, I forgot what its called but its meant for the viewer's interpretations, like the train in this scene running in the background, this is intentional but could be no actual meaning other than the director leaving it to the viewers to think about and ponder.)

@@damonmcdougal2567 In season 1, Avon's pit crew in the projects keeps getting jacked by Omar's stick up crew, whom Brandon was apart of and was Omar's boyfriend. Stringer gets the drop on Brandon one day and sends his muscle to kidnap and torture Brandon about Omar's whereabouts. When he doesn't give Omar up, they kill him and mutilate him for display. That's why Omar says "didn't have to torture his ass neither" not "coach."

This scene was stunningly good, the whole episode, actually. When Brother Mozourne visited Avon at the barber shop, he questioned why Stringer tried to kill him through Omar. Avon took responsibility for Stringer's actions & offered him money, but Mozourne reminded him that Avon is who he is because of name & reputation, not money. That scene right there made Avon give up Stringer to Mozourne & Omar. Amazingly scripted! This show deserves more recognition and awards!

Omar & Mouzone killing Bell = Bishops take Queen. We all know the reoccurring chess themes in the series. Mouzone and Little can easily be identified as the most "moral" of the characters (with respect to the game), making them metaphorically Bishops. Notice how they trap and "take" Bell diagonally, as only a Bishop can, Forget gender, Bell is the queen b/c he gets taken; Avon, although checked several times (By Marlo, the Police, etc) always escapes.

Kevin Kibble because you are. Uhm you realize Brandon robbed them, was he supposed to let him live? You clearly don't know what you're talking about either, he "snitched" on Avon because dude was bad for business, killing for some corners they don't even need, you fucking serious? Even he realized this in the very next episode after Stringer was killed, was it really that hard for him to realize String was before he died? He didn't snitch on him out of malicious or anything, it was just fucking business, and they both turned on each other, Avon is the one who got Stringer killed in the first place!!! And you can't use the excuse that Stringer snitched on him because Avon didn't even know until after. I'm really tired of idiots acting like him having D'angelo killed wasn't necessary. It was obvious that the dude wasn't reliable and was very close to turning on them, he started doing heroin too. You think String would want to sit there and have that shit on his mind about whether or not he would rat all that time, 20 years is a long fucking time. Killing D was necessary, so stop with that bullshit. Mike, you mean the same guy who almost killed Walt at least 3 times, assaulted him, berated and condescended him all the time? You mean that Mike? Yeah, Mike had the shit coming for a long time, it's only so much a man can take. If you were Walt you would've done the same thing. Also, you act as if Mike was some innocent guy. I'm not even gonna go over the rest, but have you ever heard of the phrase "do what you gotta do", yeah, that's what String and Walt did, scumbag.
@kevinkibble8342
@kevinkibble8342 9 лет назад
Malachi Coleman Yes, they needed to deal with Brandon, I'm not disputing that. But torturing him to death rather than just giving him a quick gunshot to the head was horrible. Killing for corners was part of the game, Stringer had been with Avon for so long that surely he knew that was how shit went down. Avon had his reasons for getting String killed, Stringer fucked with Avon's family, even if D'Angelo was a snitch. Mike was on his way out, about to go on the run and Walt killed him, not over Mike trying to kill him, but over petty ego shit. What a nice guy. I notice you keep calling me a scumbag, but haven't answered my question, of how not liking two fictional characters makes me one? Get a grip, son.
@malachicoleman5340
@malachicoleman5340 9 лет назад
Kevin Kibble you just said you liked them but said they were "horrible", so do you like them or not? They tortured him trying to get him to tell them where Omar was, and eventually he died from his injuries. Yes, he knew that's how the game was, but he was trying to change it, what don't you get? Yes, it may have been a futile attempt, but he tried. And no, that's not why he he got Stringer killed, he was willing to try and work something out with Mouzone and Omar for them not to kill Stringer. But he realized that it wasn't negotiable, so he just told them. Avon accepted D's death, he wasn't even stuck on that, he knew the game was the game, regardless if Stringer did it. Stringer and Avon were practically family, they knew each other from when they were kids, they were brothers. He knew him way longer than D too. Like I said, it's only so much a man can take. All of that shit Mike put Walt through was building up, and up, and he just snapped in the moment while Mike was just berating the fuck outta him. If you were Walt, you would've done the same, anyone would. They were badasses, especially Walt, and the fact you're trying to deny that makes you a scumbag. It doesn't matter if he wasn't a "nice" guy, fuck being "nice", that doesn't equate to being a scumbag. But yeah, you are though.

Stringer didn't feel any conscience ordering hits on Wallace or even fucking D. He shouldn't have been surprised when the killers came for him and didn't care about anything except the mission. Everything he did was for money but you can't buy your way out of the black market situation (ie, criminals like Omar from "below," and established hitmen like Mouzone from "above," who can do what they want cause you will NEVER reach their level). Mouzone must have done some mental gymnastics to be "at peace with his god."

Wermhats Wormhat I'm not an expert on Islam, and I also realize that different religions have different views on things (I'm not one of those idiots that thinks "all religions just teach "be good" as if it is obvious what good is). But never the less it seems like, murder for money, particularly for the sake of drug deals, is not what most religions, would teach. Plus Omar is an infidel, but Mouzone lets him live - sure he needs him for a while, but it's clear he respects him. I suspect Mouzone is a bit of an infidel himself, and good for him for that. If he totally believed, he'd still be part of NOI. Mouzone has his own morality and THAT is what he's at peace with.

The moment he got played like a chump, he wanted to go back to his street roots and have Clay killed, which if that happened, the resulting heat would've wrecked the Barksdale organization. And this is despite Avon pulling rank and telling him not to go through with it. If he's that dumb on such a basic concept, he wouldn't have made it far either way. 2) He was caught on the wiretap anyways, and there was a case being built against him for years. This was the most bittersweet and unexpected TV death. I respected Avon as a businessman who wanted to change the game, but for everything like having Wallace killed, Stringer was deserving of this death. The way that he was running through the building hopelessly trying to find an exit, wow. I thought he was going to jump through the window for a minute and take his chances. The way the show was going, I thought that Stringer would take out Avon in and be the kingpen because Avon didn't see that there was more to their business than the drugs.

This was expected and well written! Mouzone return, Roof tope scene and graveyard meeting with COlving, many scenes were clues to Stringer fate! Omar death that was totally unexpected brother

*SPOILER* Yeah, I'm not a man though, I'm a woman. I was so shocked to see Omar die too, especially like that. Michael followed in his footsteps, and DuQuon in Bubs' footsteps. I like how they showed the history of all of the grown-up characters through the "Boys of Summer" characters. This also shows the the vicious circle that the people at the bottom of the face each generations because the higher ups want "juke stats."

Marie B *SPOILER* Yeah seeing Dukie like that at the end of the show was similar to a death of a main character. Even worse perhaps because you just know all the suffering he's gonna go through

He is among the best characters in The Wire, together with Omar and McNulty, for my taste. I admired the way he took crime to the next level; not emotionally involved and without getting his hands dirty, like a business man, just to make money. I rather would have seen Avon get shot, for not going along with Stringers plans.

This is my first time watching The Wire (currently on season 3, just finished this episode) & i'm terribly sad that Stringer went out this early. Wow, what an episode. I was speechless.

A masterpiece of a scene. So well thought of... by the way, bell trying to open the doors trying to get out of the building he actually owns is an ellegory of him (or everyone else for that matter) trying to get away of the drug game....

The foreshadowing in this show is incredible. Up until this episode Stringer Bell was always telling his lieutenants "boy I hope I don't get murdered by Omar Little and Brother Mouzone in a physical monument to my own hubris," "I really hope my schemes don't backfire on me and lead my best friend Avon to sell me out to notorious gunslingers Omar Little and Brother Mouzone" and stuff like that. And then this scene comes. David Simon you've done it again
