@@moneyhungry9169 Basically Randy was paid to be a lookout for 2 kids to run a train on some girl. The boys started treating the girl like shit afterwards and word got around. So she lied and told the principal that she was raped by the kids in the bathroom. Randy got in trouble with the two other boys. But he was only the lookout. He didn't want to get in trouble by his foster mom so he started telling about the murder of Lex to prevent him from getting in trouble. That's how he got into that mess
Michael is such a don! He is what you call a TRUE friend, somebody that will always be loyal to you and have your back even in a situation where you're outnumbered, he was not shook of anyone, one of the best characters on the show!
I always liked how Dukie never tried to act like someone he wasn't. He knew he couldn't fight. Michael knew it too. But that's the homie though. Michael is a real one. That's why Namond was so whack.
@@kadrianenyia_ as much as I wanted to see Randy and Duke make it out of the hood, I'm glad that Namond got out. They were good kids that deserved better. The "game" and Baltimore destroyed their futures and swallowed them up. Sad as hell really.
Namond was a leader though that got real results, got dukie chinese food, was able to get that eiffel tower structure built so he and classmates to go to the restaurant. Namond would've been better in this situation, he could've diffused the situation. Michael is cool though no taking away from him.
MultiFeezy Namond could have whupped that kid, he just didn't have it in him. He wasn't built for the streets, which in the end was good for him, but it's kind of fucked up how they made Namond end up doing well, but not Michael, cause Namond was a piece of shit, while Michael always tried to do the right thing
Namond acted like an asshole because he thought he had to be Wee-Bey. He always had a good heart. It seeped out during the show's season, like when he sold Michael's mom some rock at a discount. He fucked with Dukie 'cause it was an easy win, a way to pretend to be hard. He wasn't hard. He had a soft heart like Duke but didn't want to be treated that way. He wanted to be his father, but he isn't.
It was all an act with Namond. Even though he was pretty soft, how could he not act how he did given the environment where he grew up AND given his piece of shit mother? He was basically forced into being something that he isn't.
When they walk up and say they wanna talk to Randy, Michael said: "aint nuttin stopping you." He knew he wasn't leaving his boy. I like how Michael looked them those three over and was already resolved to what he was gonna do. Then at the end, even though Dookie ran, Michael gave him that playful head grab. Great character. All his friends felt safe with him. You could tell.
Everyone keeps saying Dukie Ran Away. He Didn't Run Away! He Went To Get HELP. Why Do You Think (the teacher and Dukie) Prez Showed Up!!?? Has anyone Ever Heard Of The Saying ...."A Good RUN Is Better Than A Bad STAY??"
@@hermanhitt5055, I didnt mean Dukie ran. He did the only thing he could do. Thats what I meant by he ran. He ran to get help because thats all he could do.
none of the 3 kids here made it, thats whats sad. randy goes to a group home after he gets labeled a snitch and his foster parent is nearly killed. dukie becomes a drug addict. michael becomes omar. all these kids had potential - dukie a scientist/engineer, randy a businessman, michael an athlete - and it was all wasted.
Thats why I always like Mike. He is a real stand up guy. He doesn't back down. He is loyal, Fearless, compassionate, honorable unlike the rest of his friends.
+tankmaster1018 Good friends are hard enough to find. But friends who will risk bodily injury for you? As Clay Davis would say, sheeeeeeeee-it. They're just about impossible to find.
Khabib cherrypicking Weight bully damn homie I’m from south central LA me and my homies is close we got each other’s back when we have to if it’s a 1 on 1 thing we won’t bother it’s when those pussy niggas that jump people start acting hard when they get they ass beat
He lost all of his innocence. His step mother was gone, he kept getting beat up, the police let him doen, he couldn't find another foster home and finally he ended up in a group where he became hard and cold. The seen with bunk signified who he became. He gave bunk no eye contact, his smile was gone and his demeanor wad cold. When he tried to push the kid down the steps that let you know randy was dead on the inside.
The season that focused on the boys, in my opinion, is what makes the Wire such a masterpiece. Its one of the reasons its so hard to try and get people to watch it because you really need to take the whole thing in to appreciate it.
The Wire is hard to appreciate because the first season, upon first watch, comes off as unsatisfactory. Now I mean that in the most positive way possible, but everyone got to feel some type of way when D'Angelo gets 20 years. Them Season 2 starts, and the introduction of the dock, least for the first few episodes seems like such a mistake. But if you can make it to the end of that season it's easy to recognize the genius of the show.
@WiredAnomaly imo each season tells the overarching story from different perspectives. Season 1: the police, 2: the dock workers, 3: the criminals, 4: the kids, 5: the press
I always wanted a big brother like Michael. He's strong but so good hearted. I would've loved to have Dukie as a kid brother so I could look out for him and keep him on the right path.
@@tylerdurden4392 lmaoooooim just thinking to myself if prezbo came and they all showed up to class the next day all wearing eye patches. Like you know prezbo did this
yajo891 The other thing people have to remember about Dukie was that he lived in a home full of dope fiends, which meant he didn't get much food, which meant he was physically weak. There's just no way he could fight like that, I know some people would say "size doesn't matter", it does, it's not everything, but only a fool would say strength doesn't matter. And Dukie obviously didn't have much strength, through no fault of his own
NuEnque Dukie wasn’t trying to get street cred. He wasn’t fake. He did the only thing he could which was get the teacher. The fact that Dukie was never fake is the reason Michael stuck by him in the end and not Namond.
NuEnque bro they were really gonna fucking kill them. You see Randy? Dude looked like he was half dead. They weren’t gonna stop till someone made them stop.
When Marlo told Chris that Mike stuck up for "a snitch", he knew that he was a loyal friend. He knew that Michael was going to a real soldier for the Stanfield organization.
Mike is what we missing now days real brothers don't stand tall for there friends no more yeah dukie ran for help he knew he couldn't fight atleast he and run down the street
There are a lot of people who rob drug dealers. The creator of the show said The character of Omar was created from 19 people he knew robbed drug dealers.
Just A Kid, Wasn’t Even In The Game, & Keep In Mind, He Tried To Play It Kool With Everybody & Stay Out The Way So He Wouldn’t Land In That Group Home Because He Knew He Was Not Built For Them Niggaz In There, Hell It Was Prolly Niggaz In There Who’d Give Mike The Hands Lowkey Don’t Condone Snitching Especially Knowing Them Consequences That Come With It But The Nigga Damn Near Ain’t Had No Choice
Nah man, you got it all wrong. Dukie helped more by getting help, instead of getting in there and letting all their asses get whooped. He definitely stood by Randy and backed him up.
"SNITCHING ASS RANDY!" I cried laughing when I heard that boy say that at the lunch table. Mike was about that shit. Marlo had troopers in school too? DAMN!
That same problem happened at my school. A couple of chumps called my friend a snitch. I stood by him no matter what. Loyalty is what determines real friends from fake ones.
Mike was one of my favorite character / one of the realest on the show! He stood by his friends everytime , right or wrong ! I loved how he always stood up for dukie when Namond or someone else picked on him and how he had Randy's back here :) shows how much of a real TRUE friend he was. S/N LMFAO @ Dukie running durning the fight
Anybody ever notice that the kid on the very left at 0:10 is DeShawn Fredericks, the kid that Bunk eventually interrogates in the Season 5 opening scene for shooting Pookie down on Carey street just like Monell said he did
Pause at 0:22, the guy on the left is the one who got tricked by Bunk and Jay into thinking the photocopier was a polygraph in the first episode of season 5.
I really like the friend trio w/ Mike, randy, and Dukie. However it’s really sad towards the end of the series, none of them have a happy ending unlike Namond.
@rocyaice Nah Dukie did what we should expect Dukie character to do..He went got the teacher because he know he cant fight....Most people dont understand why Micheal like Dukie but its simple.. Dukie is honest with himself, he doesnt try to play gangster like namond does so Micheal repects and likes Dukie for that....he didnt jump in the fight but at least he went to go get help.. but yeah Micheal is a G and true to his friends...I like Randy character too though...
The scene where Carver the cop visited Randy in the hospital after he got beat up at the boys home, is about as emotional as any scene in this series. Randy didn't deserve to be treated as badly as he was. He had more charisma than all the kids.
damn Michael had that lion heart in him you see it at 1:03 & 1:10. Its like that scene from John Q from father to son dont be a bully but when someone step to you & yours stand tall its good quality in a man no matter what ethnicity.
Michael just tussled with the one dude while the others were beating on Randy. And why did they even care about Randy snitching? They act like he snitched on them too XD
Just the way those neighbourhoods are -- most of the cops treat them like they're enemies in a war, so nobody wants to help the cops. If you're labelled a snitch, it's like you're a traitor. Check out David Simon's books (Homicide & The Corner) if you want a good overview. Homicide is police-centric, The Corner comes at it from a neighbourhood perspective. Two of the best non-fiction books I've had the pleasure to read. You'll recognise a lot of real-life characters who inspired The Wire.
I remember watching this episode when it first came out and for some reason finding it so attractive how he spit that blood out. Still to this day I absolutely love it 😂
You Won’t Find Any Loyal Friend like that no matter What The Situation is!!!!! Michael Was A REAL Soldier & A True Friend!!!!! I hope You ppl out there Should Learn From this on what A True Friend is.
Micheal always stood against bullies and those who were weaker even within his crew. He always stood up for Duke. Despite snitching going against the game Mike stood tall
