@@Kblog777 that little kid was a grown ass man at heart n he knew what was comin when namond asked em about it he said “go on yo” like as if he wasn’t scared he told em do what he had to do
The Namond character was so disliked that no one clapped for him during a reunion show for most of the lead characters. In my opinion, Namond was a necessary evil for the series. They had to stick a Namond in the mix because Namonds are all over the hood but hiding out as someone else. The hood life never made them harder because on the inside it just wast them. Makes u wonder how far black youth in these neighborhoods could go if given a shot
@@maxbenard472 exactly, my uncles on my mom side are soft as shit because for the most part they lived good and went to white colleges Unfortunately, they live in rough side of town closer to my aging grandma where that soft shit doesn’t work . Not saying they need to be “beat a nigga ass” hard, but they aren’t assertive at all. People tend to walk all over them and they don’t even realize it .
Nammond lived off the hype of his father (Weebay) reputation for as long as he could but he was exposed on multiple occasions that he wasn't cold hearted and Kennard was the final straw so Michael loss all respect so he slapped him around too.
Namond was afraid to get his package from Kennard then back in the gym try to plunk Dukie....like really dude you acting like a girl. That's why Mike slapped him around
@@demetriusmckay617 I think you missed the point my friend. Namond is the only one to recognize the pointlessness of the game and refused to compromise himself. Also the only one who manages to break the cycle and achieve real life success. Bullying dukie was performative, here we see who Namond really is. A kid who isn't willing to beat down a child for petty cash amounts of dope.
@Uh oh They didn't succeed cuz they're killed lol D has a redemptive arc but he spent at least a decade putting in Work and from all accounts in the show, recklessly and violently. Wallace comes back and runs with his old crew (a fatal decision). Also they are both much older and are further in the game/drugs. Even Randy who does nearly everything right suffers due to his lack of support. Namond had the right mix of support and disposition and it probably saved his life.
Namond: Yo, I'm bout to... Kenard: You BOUT to. Straight called his bluff. Talk it but don't walk it. Even Michael realized it right then. Namond tries to chump his friend Dukie but won't stand up to Lenard. That's why Michael slapped him up in the gym. Namond was faking too much, soft but acting hard.
Namond reminds me of Wallace. A nice kid who was born into (or forced into) a lifestyle he was not built for. Good thing Namond didn't go out like Wallace. Respect to Bunny Colvin.
Sean Norfleet Yea but Wallace was pretty ruthless when pissed off. Like when he cracked Johnny's head with that bottle on the first episode. Shit was pretty fucked up.
Namond wasn't a nice kid, she was a bully, he was the least deserving of the 4 to be saved. Dukie had it the worst his parents would sell his clothes and basically had nothing. Plus he was bullied. Then it was Michael, Namond and Randy were the best of. Randy was a good kid at heart, he just loved to hustle.
Namond parallels D’Angelo. Both were successors, born into the game but probably best suited to other things (although D’Angelo proved to be a strong leader in the pit). The difference is that Namond was able to leave the game alive, D’Angelo was not
The obvious parallel is to D’Angelo but you make a good point - Ziggy is also similar, son of a strong figure in the game, but not built for it. I suppose the major difference was that Frank never forced Ziggy to get into the game (for the longshoremen, that would be smuggling/stealing)
I'm surprised at the comments. Nammond picked on dukie because he was putting on a tough guy facade that he is forced into by his mother and life in the ghetto. He also knows there is a pecking order and sees how mile is at the top because people fear him. So he thinks he should be a bully and that will earn back Mike's respect because Nammond got freaked out over Mike's violence. I feel bad for Hammond. Just like all the other kids he's doing what he thinks he needs to do to survive.
There’s one flaw in that logic mike is at the top because he protects them all especially dukie namond bought them stuff so they kinda just let it go but once mike starts to hustle he dead’s that behavior quick
Namond and Deangelo Barksdale was raised just alike. I woudnt call them bitches because both of them was forced in the game to sell drugs when they didnt even want to do it. Thats why they wasnt built for that type of lifestyle. They really didnt have a choice tho
Agree but I wouldn't the make comparison dlo caught a body and was out there grinding on the streets namond ain't even have the heart to go to the bookings
Facts... I said in another thread. Micheal reminds me of the new Marlo because of his streets smarts and how he can turn into a cold killer. Kenard turning into Omar. Dukie turning into Bubbles and Naymond like Dee Barksdale. Before Bunny Colvin saved him. Not really sure about Randy. Maybe he turns into Carver
@@jacobmillen751 Nah Micheal was a monster from the jump, always had that in him, he just stopped being shy about showing that side. Naymond was always a softy and didn't grow up like Micheal, thats why he ain't on shit, most guys like Micheal are trumatizied from how they grew up that's why they they can do shit like this without care, weebay did a good job of making sure that didn't happen to naymond, it was just time for naymond to be honest with himself about that.
It needed to be done. Kenard thought since he was a kid he could go around doing all kinds of ho ass shit and run his mouth. Mike humbled him at least a little bit here.
There were many moments when you knew Namond was not cut out for the street game life. Mike went to Kennard like Chirs did his mother's baby father. I know this for sure, Kennard didn't steal from Mike when he was running with him. Kennard ended Omar's reign. Not that he had a choice, he took that Mike beat down like a champ!!! Best series ever!!
Namond reminds me of some kids at my school. So basically 2 towns intermix my city (ghetto) the other town (petty ass kids) The other town kids have everything handed to em but kids from my city that go there are in poverty and shit namond reminds me of the petty kids that try to act hard smh
I love how people hate on Namomd he’s just a scared kid who Has to put up this front to survive obviously the game wasn’t for him and you guys hate him for it
SupportGaming 2020 he’s a tortured kid who doesn’t like hurting people so that makes him a bitch half of y’all couldn’t even stomach half the shit the kids been through and call him a bitch I find it laughable
@@Testsubjex I don't feel bad for fools that pretend to be something they aren't,Namond the entire show has been a pussy, never stood up for Mike, anyone else or even himself, always running away from trouble and he's always got people fighting his own battles,he's weak.
@K1NgL0 Why? Its not that I enjoy seeing little kids getting beat up its just so fucking awesome that this kind of stuff is written in a serious tv show.
