Offering a diverse range of great, small scenes from the best television show of all time, and inarguably one of the finest pieces of art in the history of mankind, The Wire.
A lot of people seem to miss the subtext of this scene. Namond wasn't messing with Dukie just for the sake of it. He was doing it as a desperate attempt to get Mike to talk to him, because he knew it'd get him to react. Those tears after Mike beats him up aren't just from the pain. Those are the tears of Namond realising that the Mike he knew and grew up with is gone, and has been replaced by someone else.
This episode was so tragic. 4 men witnessed the downward spiral of their wards. Bunny seeing Namonds helplessness, Dennis seeing Michael's journey to the dark side, Carver unable to protect the kid he promised twice, and finally Bubbles losing his ward with the very poison that he tried to defend himself with.
What makes season 4 of The Wire so special is that we all know the junkie, the cornerboy, the hitter, but they didn't grow up one day saying "I want to be a drug addict when I get older" The Wire showed us the forces in life that mold innocent children into these people. Whether it be horrible parenting, bad schools, impoverished environment etc... for many life is over before it even started, just another continuation of the cycle.
The Simpson is my show. I laughed to it as a child. Now being thrown into a world I don’t understand as a young adult on the verge of my 20’s. It makes me cry. The Simpson’s made me understand what the real world was like from a young age. This show would always make me feel better about myself. I would feel embarrassed about my bad grades and the threat of being held back; so did Bart. I was bullied for being different; like Lisa. I often don’t see the bad in people , only the good; like marge. Most of all, I feel self conscious about my looks and IQ. But then there’s Homer. A man who’s dumb as a rock. Overweight and bald. Yet he still has a woman (Marge) who sees past all that. So what I want to say is, thank you Simpson’s. You’ve been with me since I was a child when I wanted to be like Bart. And now, as I want to be a man. Thank you for showing me that people like me have a lot more to look forward to in life. ❤
Dukie wasn't there because he really only hang with Michael most of the time, Dukie not fitting inn hanging on the block that's why Michael got up its more than money he would've just stayed Michael don't fit inn ither and that's why they are best friends
It's outrageous reading all of these comments and seeing how many of you think that it costs NOTHING to raise a child, let alone, a child that is not theirs. And just because someone lives in a suburb, doesn't mean they have money like that. Why would we demonize the aunt for how she looks at Michael? How come no one is demonizing the witch who raised both of those boys in squaller? We love the fairytale where the good witch comes in and saves the day, but in this case, the aunt is taking on the responsibility of caring for Bug, and that's going to cost money and a whole lot of time. Michael is going to be what he is, and that's all there is to it. Bug has a chance to be something better.
She was worried bout him , if the nigga told what type life would he have had ?? Being a known rat , ostracized mom dukes , I mean he lived that life everyday , when it get rough you can’t just flip the script
0:27 “why’ont you tell him yourself” randy was goin bout it the right way at first too smh randy was actually a decent kid too he just ended up with the wrong people at the wrong time
Wow! I totally forgot Spiros barely had an accent in his first few scenes of the show. Then he magically had a super thick accent for the rest of the series. LOL
