lmaoo same combat is super bad i played witcher 3 first that was a great fucking game, now going to play witcher 2 and I have played witcher for 5 hours only.
That is why I watched this video, starting to play Witcher 2 because I just couldn't stomach the combat system in the frist one. The second one has much better combat.
the combat is bad but the game in general was interesting. it was boring a lot of the time but i liked this one more than the second game although that may be because i was impatient to play the third while playing the second
Wanted to play this for backstory but after 10 hours I could not deal with the god awful combat and tedious gameplay. Thank you sir, Chapter 2 defeated me.
Go there, speak with that, go there take that, go there find that, come back speak again then go again take that, go drink with that npc then walk with 1 meter/ hour till a campfire to medidate. All of this without any guide or clues or quest helper. I lost the battle aswell with chapter 2 I get why people like witcher for that time period was a decent game but fuck me.
Was the exact same with me - hated the combat in the first one, and the controls in general, to be honest. Moved on to the second one, and I have been enjoying it much, much more so far!
i honestly hated it in the beginning, but one i got to around the end of chapter 1 - start of chapter 2 i started to appreciate and actually enjoy the combat system. If you cant get into the combat the game itself is wonderful
I mean, didn't they use Bioware's Neverwinter Nights engine for The Witcher 1? That was designed for turn-based D&D... the fact that real time combat worked was pretty impressive, but yeah, it has greatly improved in the sequels.
This was freaking HILARIOUS. Top tier content, even if I'm showing up 6 years after the fact. I played through the whole game and didn't understand much. Your video definitely helped with that. Thank you!
💯 💯 💯 FACTS! Told the backstory we needed but did so in a really unique way which was hilarious without really taking away from the dark/dramatic plot-lines across the story. Plus that’s crazy he summarized a 20+hour game in
Wow, this video got a second wind or something! We never expected to have such incredible feedback on this, thank you everyone who took the time to watch. Sorry there has not been much responsiveness on our end, we have not had any time to stay updated on RU-vid in the past few months but we still appreciate all of the positivity.
+Psychic Psydekick I'm halfway through and all have to say is.... you're a fucking fool LOL :-) Omg even if I dont play the Witcher 2 or 3 now this was all worth it. Nice job, this is the funniest shit ever. Plus I'm learning the story lol
@Da Squirrel who wants to wait a few hours before they start having fun on a game when you can watch this recap in a couple minutes and than jump on W2.
@Da Squirrel combat is repetitive but i got used to it. maxed the shit out of igni and it was just smooth sailing from there. I'm guessing a lot of people aren't willing to complete the game because of chapter 2, especially that damn swamp. But i agree that it gets better later on,sadly it just doesnt happen quick enough for most people to stick around. I quite enjoyed it myself
I binge-watched The Witcher last weekend and I really got hooked to the story. So I ordered all the books and bought the 3 games. I already knew The Witcher 3 was a great game and I wanted to play it at some point (I play WoW and I don't really have time to play anything else) but I decided to start from the beginning with The Witcher 1. Totally do not regret it. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and immersion, and I'm in the epilogue now, prolly an hour away from the end of it. Took me about 40 hours with lots of running around and doing side-quests. The game looks pretty good for a 12-year-old game. The only thing that could be a bit irritating is the combat system but I played at the moderate difficulty sooo you just basically slash your way through without much of a hassle. I imagine the hardest difficulty could get annoying quickly though. Anyhow I'm soon jumping to The Witcher 2 hopefully it will not disappoint as well. I expect to be mind-blown by The Witcher 3 though so it had better live up to the hype.. :-P
witcher 2 i feel is far more cinematic and linear, but also a arguably better game, I still enjoyed witcher 1 very much back in the day although it definitely has a somewhat steep learning curve. But hassle and grind will also find you in witcher 2 and 3 at times. From a story perspective and regarding quests and characters, you are in for a ride! Happy witcherin!
Witcher games are adapted after the books with unique plots and the shit Netflix trash does not resemble nor with the books or games. It's fucking trash cause Netflix is shit
I just finished the game and I wished I had played it in hard mode. Moderate difficulty, despite what it tells you, hardly requires you to use potions or any spell other than igni. It felt way too easy for me.
I know this is three years old, but this is one of the best videos seen in a long time. You had me laughing like the whole time. I really hope you make more!!
Disneyland nightmare bullshit. Lmao. I was looking for a quik story recap, yours is the first out of 5 that I didn't turn off. This covers about everything important, I think. Takes some time to get into the way of story telling, bur overall done in a fun, yet informative way.
This game needs a remaster. I know cd projekt is working on cyberpunk but it's definitely an option for the future. I really want to enjoy the witcher 1 but the combat is just horrible so i cant get into it
Old comment but if you have played 2 and 3 you should dig into 1. It is fantastic and the combat is stale but u will be unbeatable by halfway thru the game so it isn't a huge concern
Thank you, such a joy to stumble upon some good humor and an entertaining recap, while just saving time and picking up on a plot before playing "wild hunt"
The absolute BEST!!, way ive EVER heard someone discribe the witcher lore. Comical, informative, factual, and all around fun to watch/listen too. I only wish that you did the second or third witcher like this or that you had more reviews like this in general lol. Great job man! 5stars!!! I friggin loved it.
This is very simply explained and very funny. You should definitely make more videos on your channels. The story recap suits you. You explain it simply (when the story is quite complicated) and are funny :)
I was debating playing the game after beating 2 and three, then I read the books and wanted to play The Witcher 1 even more, bit luckily I stumbled apon this video, this recap saved me from hours of misery 😂
Thanks for this. I got so much more out of these 18 minutes than I think I would have playing the first Witcher game. Now I can crack on with Witcher 2 & 3.
Haha I can't say I like it, but I didn't find ot that terrible. It takes a bit to get used to, but once you do it stops becoming an issue and the story just makes you want to keep playing the game.
Is a more action oriented point and click type of game (kind like Diablo) and in this optic I funded enjoyable, but people coming from 2 and 3 expect a pure action/RPGs style of game so they get frustrated. It's the same reason why I after ayed darksiders 1 and 2 I can't manage to stand genesis: it's not what I expect from a Darksiders.
@@robertodeluca1786 You can play though with over the shoulder camera, WSAD moving and no clicking onto the ground. The only thing you need to click is for the combo attacks. I actually like that engine more than Witcher 2+. Don't crucify me!
Watched the Witcher show. Felt like going through the games again. Played W1 when it came out so long ago was good for when it came out but yeah shit now, cant play it again. Hence here watching the recap lol
Yeah I absolutely loved this game when it came out. I remember being so excited by the second one and was actually disappointed at the direction the game took. I do very much like witcher 3 though. But yeah booted up the 1st one in God knows how many years and I couldn't stomach my way through chapter 1. I remember the game gets much better later on but it really hasn't aged well at all.
That was a great recap! I'm rewatching the series and plan to finally play witcher 3 soon so I was looking for a refresher. This was perfect. It's a shame you stopped doing videos cause I think you really had something there.
6:40 slayed me! Thanks for this. It was exactly what I needed and the great delivery was a huge bonus. Wanna play Witcher 3 so getting the story so far.
I was not expecting this when I clicked on this video, I figured it’d be a straightforward point by point summary of the story, I’m so happy I was wrong lol. I learned the backstory that I wanted to have before starting the Witcher 2 (even though I’ve already put 100s of hours in Witcher 3 lol) in under 20 minutes and feel like I have at least enough backstory to understand callbacks to TW1 storylines now. But, as if that weren’t enough, this amazing recap was hilarious without taking away from the high stakes story that is told in TW1. You gotta love seeing unique creators like this! -Subscribed, This was the 1st vid I watch from this channel but I have a strong feeling it’ll be far from the last!
Just found this video and was sure you would have at least a million subscribers, shame you stopped posting but your personality and humor are fantastic!!
The main plot strangely resembles that of Fallout 1. A guy named (Grand) Master creates an army of mutants to replace humanity since humans wouldn't survive the post-apocalyptic world.
Never made a connection at first but you're right. It's just that when you play the game you really immerse and look at it more as a personal revenge story. Even interaction with Aldersberg is more personal (due to Alvin's connection).
"Did you call Shani 'garbage-tier'?! How fucking dare..." Nah I'm joking it's just an opinion from someone I've never met, on a fictional character from a video game that is a decade old. Great video dude.
Thanks for the synopsis. My game started crashing in Chapter 3 due to mods likely and part of my post traumatic stress management is to let stressors go, not look back, feeling no obligation to see things through to the end all the time.
I bought the Witcher trilogy after watching season 1 and half of season 2 of the Witcher on Netflix because I wanted to know more about the story and the games sounded cool. After getting to Vizia, I decided I couldn't stomach any more of this game and came here for answers. I could not be happier with the HILARIOUS and thorough video you created. This was amazing! I'm going to give part 2 a shot next and, if it's as bad as part 1, I'll be back for your next video, haha. Thanks again for an amazing and hilarious video.
