We know him as Superman but now Henry Cavill has taken on the role as the "mutant" in The Witcher. It will premiere on Netflix on December 20th. Interview by Lucy Jones. #TheWitcher #Netflix #HenryCavill
Interviewer: He is quite emotionless isn't he? Henry: *Nerd mode activated* I'm sooooo glad he is playing Geralt! He seems to understand the character so well (or anyways the same way I understood him) he is so passionate about this and it shows.
I like that he actually corrects interviewers instead of just rolling with it, and how he defended people who had different expectations or wishes for the series, even those who disliked his casting. He seems like an all around nice guy who respects the fans and his passion for the material is evident. I'm glad he got the role, as he put in the work to really earn it and I'm glad that someone is playing Geralt who really knows him as opposed to any other great actor who may only view it as a job and a paycheck.
She looks at him while he was explaining the character the way my mom looks at me explaining a game when she asks a question emphatically, not expecting a response, let alone a verbal essay.
@@AidenCaldwell True, but you also often see that when they realize the other person is not reacting to or wants to react to their obvious "take me" vibes hahaha

@@ritter1389 a very important thing in the books is that Geralt doesn't like having a beard, so this picture just shows that he can look like game Geralt tbh.
I'm on a Henry Cavill marathon of interviews. This man is well spoken and well rounded, please just give him an intelligent interviewer and have him do a complete analysis of the character, without all the Holywood chit chat.
I try to watch all his interviews myself, there's a lot to learn from this man. Stoicism, intelligence, class, self discipline and self control. Perhaps he truly is the superman of today.
god I'm 3 months late to this comment BUT I FEEL THIS. PLEASE. GIVE HIM. A DECENT INTERVIEWER. HERE FOR A TRUE INTERVIEW and stop the pokes and banter about attractiveness? just let him speak
@@tiffles3890 Is raunchy scenes a nickname for naked/sexual scenes? And I bingwatched the whole first season.. Liked the series way more than I thought I would.
Interviewer don't know much about the show that makes this interview awkward 😂🤣, But Cavil understood the situation and adjusted with it. Maannn he is really gaining my respect 👍 He is simply amazing🤘 Henry Superman Cavil 😜
I found the interviewer quite likeable. She stayed energetic and amicable, Henry got from that energy and kept smiling. Much better than the fall asleep interviewers I've seen elsewhere.
To be fair, you can imagine the production value was high, especially netting Cavill as the lead, the large cast, the backdrops, animal trainers, and CG especially, not to mention it was likely a traveling set. Netflix probably gave it just enough $ to get something this great, but not break the bank on a video game adaptation [yes, I'm aware it was a book series first, but let's be honest; the show wouldn't exist without the games]. I binged it too, and now I want _more._ lol
@@evilblackcat6357 you're 100% right on that. Unfortunately with all forms of media their are normally only two forms of media that will ever hold water in society and that is the latest form and the definitive form. With The Witcher they are the Netflix form as the latest and the definitive form is clearly the games.
he's such a good choice for the role because he's a rather talented actor but also he's invested in the series a lot, and wants it to be good and accurate. He also plays the game and has read the books, which obviously only helps develop an accurate portrayal
He must (not purposely) intimidate the hell out of women with his good looks cuz like every interview I watch with him and a woman interviewer it’s so so awkward
I do that too. For a long time I thought that women didn't like me, lol. Then I got a wake up call from a very forward woman telling me that I intimidate them. Life is strange.
Same. But I'm a woman. No guys would ever approach me, even though I seen them looking. Most thought I was either in a relationship or.. A bitch. If you're attractive or have social anxiety. Youre doomed 😂
She kept sticking her tongue out and licking her lips. Stroking herself. All unconsciously of course. She seemed very nervous. He seems to do this to interviewers. ;)
wow ok Henry defending Geralt using the perpetuated myth of emotionlessness as a front is the book nerd spiel I never knew I needed so glad he can do such amazing justice to the books by understanding the character(s) so incredibly well
When she said Geralt was emotionless it made me wince because all I could think of was as he explained: it's a front he has for so many reasons but deep within Geralt genuinely has these emotions that are really complex and deep. Some of the questions made me cringe and I wish the interviewer would have used the time better T_T
Henry knows his character. Reading the books and playing the games, he knows very well that Witchers have emotion. Fearless yes, and living as long as they do, I would be grim af too. But Geralt feels anger and love. The latter something he doesnt show to anyone.
Poor girl came into this interview with horrid questions! Emotionless Geralt? She didn't watch the show. Which character he has played would he hang out with? He has been those people so he does hang out with them. Poor thing. Btw, I have loved watching Henry grow into a phenomenal actor starting with The Tudors ( which I honestly began watching bc of Jonathan Rhys Meyers), now he is one of my favorite actors of all time.
Those were some sharp answers Henry. I don't usually look up to actors , specially these days when most of them also preach virtuous politics to people but this gamer actor does give me some really good vibes. Gamers are smart that way..
This lady deserves a lot of credit! Very professional. This might be the first to interview where I haven't seen an interviewer fall to mush in front of his feet, male or female. Lol. (Can't blame them though!)
@@oqlthorp I played through Witcher 2 3 times, it's a shorter game which lends itself well to multiple playthroughs. I swear the Flotsam act still held surprises the third time through.
@@morgezorge6387 Unpopular opinion here: I really like the Witcher 2 more than 3, just because it is more streamlined and shorter. Besides that, I really like the political aspect of the game.
@@helmuthvonmoltke5518 I do too, even though the open world is among the most beautiful openworlds in any game, there is nothing like the dense forest of Flotsam. I really love that area. There are also no filler quest in 2, which i appreciate.
You can't half tell how unimpressed he was with a lot of those questions. I feel sorry for all of them on the Witcher press junket. The girls are new to this, so it's still exciting, but it must be frustrating AF to have to answer the same questions over and over, and to be asked such dumb questions. He did a great job of ensuring the interview didn't flop for her. 😊👍🏻
Is it bad I cried when he talked about his dog? I miss having a dog so much, having my cat just isn't the same (even though I love the chunk demon spawn)
