Started watching it for Henry. Stayed for Henry. Abandoning it after this season for Henry as well. I love it when actors does such a brilliant job and put everything they have into a project that the project can’t be the same ever without them.
I will consider the third season the end of the Witcher. Henry cannot be replaced. Most of us watched the series for him. I feel that he is the only one who embodied the character of the Witcher as it should really be.
Henry Cavill is a legend and his exit from the show left a void in my heart. I'm gonna miss him as geralt. He was the show opener, showstopper and everything in between. I hope to see him soon in his next project. Best wishes, hugs and happiness his way!
Netflix had a treasure trove of perfect material, a flawless lead actor, and a massive ready-made fanbase to work with, and somehow still managed to utterly destroy it. Impressive.
It really is impressive. It’s like having all the tools to succeed with a 98% chance of success… but then you fail😅😅 I’m just glad that everyone is rooting for Henry, he is great💪🏼
Geralt's screen time, Season 3 Part 1: Of 4 h 35 min he appears in 1 h 13 min (28% of the total). Season 3 Part 2: Of 2 h 30 min he appears in 25 min (16% of the total) The BIGGEST MISTAKE the producers made with The Witcher is not giving us the witcher in The Witcher series. And then they will complain that no one watches their show anymore... That happens for selling a pig in a poke. It's like making a 2-hour Indiana Jones movie and Harrison Ford only having 25 minutes of screen time. I don't know what part of the world they live in... but in my neighborhood we call that a SCAM
Despite pissing off the book fans, not pleasing the game fans, and barely keep a casual fanbase, Henry Cavill was the soul and strongest pillar of this series that kept all the fans together watching the show. Not just because he's an excellent Geralt of Rivia, but because he's also a huge fan of the books and games, one of us. Being Geralt is a dream come true for him, watching him fulfilling his dream warmed our hearts, and it's sad to watch him leave the role. Let's hope Prime Video learns from Netflix's f*ckups and doesn't also ruin his dream of adapting Warhammer 40K. And I don't mean to "hate" Liam Hemsworth's performance in advance, but it won't be the same.
They removed him from Geralt.. Removed him from Superman. Truly a fking dark age. People who are at the helm of things in hollywood are straight up retards.
I think book fans can really appreciate Henry because of how hard he fought with the creators to keep things like the books when the team behind the show have been outed to actively dislike the books.
Viewers just need to stop being naive, these adaptation shows are never about preserving or honoring the original material. They're just quick cash grab schemes, with the minimum capable amount of work put in to hook the original's fanbase.
Get Henry back! He's a great actor and his passion about this story is admirable. He's a hero! Thank you Henry for standing up for what's right and defending yet another story they trying to change to fit their own agendas. Netflix you are Evil.
He is the only thing that resembles the Witcher from the book. And I need to admit - his portrayal is far from perfect, but with his character absolutely butchered in the script (Geralt from books is a master of dense witty dialog and sarcasm, being constantly torn apart by moral dilemmas, all while TRYING to look lika a cold badass, while in the show he mostly talks in one liners xD ), the fact that he managed to keep it that good is just amazing.
@@EustaH well he is also a gamer and a bigger fan of witcher series, ofcourse he will be the best to play as Geralt, I almost thought that this series was dead since he returned to DC.
I don't know why, but rewatching this trailer makes me appreciate it a lot more after having binge-watched the first five episodes. Henry Cavill will be missed. Can't wait to see what he does with WH40K.
You know Netflix you’d think now that Henry is no longer the Witcher or Superman and your show is dying you’d fire the directors and producers and screen writers and put the ones in there that’d respect the source material actually and try to get Henry back so that way you’d keep your number one series.
Netflix is unforgivable. As long as the showrunners feel like they can't be punished, they will continue to make crap out of their fans' favorite stories, so I urge everyone to boycott this! Let's get them from the sky where they fly, waiting for us to turn a blind eye to the lack of an original narrative, the lack of even some respect for us, for the original source, for the departure of Henry Cavill, the beautiful Geralt, you never know what good is left, and now then trampled. To stop this, we need to show that we will not settle for cheap breed.
Henry is the reason why I started watching this show…honestly it’s been painful but I stayed for him and when he leaves I’m quitting too…no one else can be Geralt. It’s been quite a journey
Even for him, I couldn't finish watching the first season, the fact that they put Ciri with a random elf in the woods with the dryads instead of Gerald as in the books make me quit it.
I love how every single video I see about the Witcher season 3 is just flooded with nothing but love for Henry in the comments. I hope the big wigs see it everytime and get the bitter taste of regret in their mouths for how they handled it and what they lost. They didn't just ruin it for Henry, they ruined it for all of us.
@@thefibonacci No one thought Christopher Reeves would ever by matched as Superman, which is why I'm still salty that they didn't recast T'Challa in Black Panther. My point is, time goes on, a new guy might not immediately win our hearts, but give it time, the studio will eventually get it right. And you'll be saying the same thing about the next great actor. LOL. And yes, I agree, losing Cavill on any franchise is a crime of epic proportions.
When Yen asks Geralt “are you sure about this?” and Geralt wearily replies “are you?” I think perfectly sums up everyone’s feelings about the show now that Henry is leaving
yeah because the people at netflix decided that he should film his feelings about leaving and told that guy to put it on the trailer to make people stop giving them money. They are so smart in their advertising!
Am I the only one or did you all feel it or see it right from the first season that Henry didn’t want to continue in this show?? I could tell right then. I was even shocked when season two came.
@@blazingocean4206 He wasn’t saying Netflix did that on purpose. He was saying its a happy little coincidence, and was a poor choice by the editing team at Netflix.
Yes, especially without ideologically possessed show writers creating self inserts and trying to rewrite the whole show. What an absolute narcissistic dumpster fire.
They won’t give him that. If you noticed, especially the second half of the third season, it became a major male bashing fest, etc. Hollywood writers ruining ANOTHER franchise like usual
I dont see how the series can continue without Henry Cavill. He has done such a masterful job portraying Geralt, anyone who tries to fill his shoes has an impossible task.
My guess is that they will end S3 kinda where the books ended and will continue with the story of the games (which I haven't played but watched a video about it) and there I can see how but won't spoil it.
@Dishonorable Person uhm they spent a lot of time training in season 2... and yes there is a time jump for season 3... you can bet her witcher and Mage training didn't stop with season 2.
I watched this show only because it was Henry's. Didn't even know about the books or the games. But i still got hooked because of the fantastic story and acting. Don't think I'll watch it after Henry's exit though

I can only thank Henry Cavill for giving himself 1000% to the character and for giving more to The Witcher than any other actor can; He has not only been splendid with his character, but he has also been splendid with his teammates and the entire team, inviting them to dinner or sending them commemorative medals every time a season ended, in addition to having brought the excellent Wolffie to the series to make the perfect sword choreography of the 1st. season and repeating in this 3rd. season. So a big thank you for everything Henry, you have done for the series and its fans. there will be a replacement for Geralt but no one can replace Henry Cavill!; I wish him much success in the new projects he has, hopefully there they take advantage of all the potential that Henry has to give!
It's absolutely insane that you accept losing Henry Cavill just to do your own thing. Not only is he perfect for Geralt, he loves the books and the games and he knows the characters inside and out. It's beyond me how you're willing to replace someone who's this passionate about their character. I genuinely hope it ends after season 3 because nobody else will do Geralt justice and it would be unfair to the next actor to try and fill Henrys' shoes.

There is a line in this season where Jennefer says "look at all this gold, left here to rust" when she is a MASTER OF ALCHEMY! That's' all you need to know about the writing of this season.
Well at least we got a couple of good seasons out of it. I guess it's still better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. Either way, not honoring the source material and letting Henry go are pretty unforgivable. I have a lot of mixed feelings.
Imagine casting the perfect actor for your ambitious series, The Witcher. Imagine the expectations of having to live up to the gritty famous novels, the dark and depressing world, and masterpiece video-games. Imagine that exact actor, staying true to the role and bringing so much life to the fictional character Geralt of Rivia that fans poured in from everywhere. Imagine that actor is also very knowledgeable in this fictional world that he knows exactly how to play the character, and with much likability. Imagine that actor delivering one the best on screen adaptions of a fictional character. Imagine that actor getting so much praise and recognition for his role. Imagine that actor wanting to stay true to the source material, because he himself is a loving fan and knows it will be more captivating, entertaining, thrilling, and soulful rather than rewriting entire scripts because "I'm an immature and unprofessional showrunner and what I say goes." Imagine having such a 10/10 actor for your long running series but then you decide that your agenda is more important than the entire series as a whole. Imagine firing or making this perfect actor leave because all he wanted was to stick to source material and be as true to the character as he could be. Imagine replacing that actor, and recasting him in a later season, only to de-rail the series and complicate things for no reason at all. Imagine the series being hot trash with no real identity once the new seasons come out. Imagine all of that. Well you dont have to, because Netflix did it. They're idiots, and they did it.
It's rather ironic that the more money is involved, the more incompetent people decide to show up. 5-10 years ago I would not be able to imagine that a product of a huge amount money and effort would be an absolute trash. Thank you Netflix, Amazon, Marvel, DC, etc., thank you!
It does seem that profit is not the meritocracy that forces evil twits with their deluded narrative to have to stick with a loved franchise. Cathy Newmans dream has come true …companies are now following female traits …however their should be beheadings and hung drawn and quartered bodies everywhere… instead companies have no penalties and just get more deluded….
It's like they took Game of Thrones way of doing business and said: "Here take my beer, don't even hold it, just take it. I can defintely screw up an entire masterpiece earlier and worse than you did in your series."
@@ghanashrim2839 Henry Cavil who has played the main character was basically booted from the show due to his want to follow the original story. We fans diehard or not have loved Henry’s performance. It is not often you have a actor/actress playing the main character who is so deeply versed in the original lore of a story. He literally was the perfect person for the job and it has shown for two (likely three) great seasons. Him being removed for wanting to stay on the par with the original Witcher series has struck a nerve with everyone, and it likely will show with viewer count moving forward after this season. Many of us (myself included) hope following seasons get little traction proving a point to produces and writers for future iterations of very loved stories. (It’s likely a dream, but I’ll still sleep on that)
Imagine having an amazing lead actor who loves the source's material and is loved by the fans, and then pushing him away right into the hands of your largest competitor who is giving him creative authority on a new series.

Henry Cavill respected the series and the fans his representation of Geralt was spectacular. Henry, kudos to you for putting so much passion into this role. You will be missed.
bruh.. i think henry overdid it. This voice feels so cringe to me, it would be better if he just used his normal voice and didnt try so much to seem so threatning. Honestly even Liam Hemsworth would have done a great job playing witcher but this show failed on production, writing and showrunning level. It does not feel like serious story for adult men like book was...
We will all be missed. Like seriously who's going to continue watching this show with another actor as Geralt? Laziest story telling I could imagine. Just write in a new witcher that's not Geralt for Hemsworth. There is a 0% chance I'm watching Hemsworth play Geralt. There's a 50% chance I'd watch him play a random new witcher
I can’t believe this will be the last season we’ll see Henry Cavill as Geralt, he has such a great acting range and passion for the characters he portrays.
so, after watching the first five episodes, I can totaly understand why Henry Cavill did not want to go on like this. Episode five is unbearable, really. First time in the series I really wanted to quit in the middle of an episode. This is hard to watch. I can't believe you doing this to the Witcher :(

Losing Henry Cavill and disregarding his outstanding portrayal of Geralt is incredulous. He was an impeccable fit for the role, not just in terms of his appearance but also his devotion to the source material, The Witcher. He possesses an extensive understanding of the characters and genuinely cherishes the books and games. I find it difficult to comprehend why you would be willing to replace someone with such profound passion for their character. Personally, I have little desire to watch the upcoming series without him. I sincerely wish the show's conclusion after season 3 because no other actor could do justice to Geralt, and it would be unjust to expect someone else to fill Henry's remarkable acting performace.
Yeah The Witcher and Superman. Guy can't catch a break with assholes ruining the content he's in. Which sucks because he's so good at the roles he's in.
I just want to say that as an audience member, Henry Caville’s dedication and love for the original source material is what drew me to the show in the first place. I clicked on this video not knowing about his departure from the series and I’m honestly heartbroken. He really did carry the series for me.

By the way, who is well acquainted with the lore of the Witcher knows that there is a big rock on Skellige. And if an ugly girl was born in the family, then the father took her, climbed this rock and threw her off the cliff. And in the family it was believed that no one was born. By the way, it was under this rock that actresses were recruited for the role of sorceresses in the TV series The Witcher.
2nd season wasn't amazing by any stretch. Cavill tried to save it but their obsessive focus on the makes and dandelion almost ruined it. Even if this show wasn't canceled the directing and editing is bad and all over the place.
I agree with you a million percent! I am going to have a hard time trying to watch the show without Henry Cavill as the Witcher. I'm very loyal to the people that I enjoy what they do, I haven't watched a single episode of Top Gear since the BBC axed Clarkson, May, and Hammond. Why would you do this Netflix, WHY?
They should have fired the writers and if necessary replaced Lauren Schmidt Hissrich before letting Henry go. Shame on them. They will pay for their failure at the bank.
I’ve read all the books and played all the games/dlcs. Despite how this plot randomly went against the lore, Henry’s portrayal of Geralt has kept me watching. One more season it is then.
hello, since u have read the bks, I wanted to ask if all the bks r like the 1st one, all singuler or stand alone stories with different monsters and adventures of geralt. I only read the 1st bk....was wondering if I should read the rest, if it starts making some sense later....?
I think they got the wrong Hemsworth brother for this role, Chris would fit well. Nevertheless season 4 will be rather centered on Ciri, so she has to step up ..
This season is a massive letdown. Despite every actor/actress gave their best, it’s just boring. The new characters introduced are boring. The plot is boring. The dialogues are boring. Everything is woke now. What happened?
Right now, the feeling is I'll only watch this out of respect for Henry Cavill's last season. But after this, not anymore. The guy was just passionate about it and just wanted to honor the orginal. Its like they change just say they did something😂 or to feel creative or important. But if those writers and producers want such a different story, they should create their own instead of using someone else's work. And if they can't, should they really called themselves "creative"?

@First Last you know they are going to focus on the girl power agenda on this season right and henry left for this deviation that is shown in the show.i personally loved the books the game and the early seasons its a shame they are focusing on pushing an agenda
If only the writers cared about the source material, it could have been good. Whether you like the casting or not, writing is what truly makes or breaks a big series like this.
*I'm watching the new season and it is mostly inaccurate. I see why Henry left. The writers have no respect for the original story. Apparently, everyone is gay now. This is ridiculous. If people were gay in the original story, fine. But they weren't.* *There are black characters in the story. But changing races of main characters is also ridiculous. Triss is tastefully done. But Philippa was done in complete distaste.*
I hope from this comments section the makers take notice that how disappointed are the fans to see Henry leave and how badly their fanbase is gonna get affected once he leaves. Henry hooked me to this show who never followed any games or books before the series, it's sad to see your reason leave. All love to Henry ❤

Henry cavil deserved a show with many more seasons which wouldn’t have been afraid to take its time and do proper justice to the books because he is perfectly cast as Geralt and equally as passionate
He will be missed. I'll give Liam a chance I guess but I'm not hopeful.
GOT- highly successful show. Really good as long as it followed the source material closely. Amazon and Netflix want their own GOT so they make Rings of Power and The Witcher. I originally wasn't sure about Henry as Geralt, but he did a fantastic job and it's unfortunate that Netflix couldn't find better people to be in charge of the series. It's been proven in the past that you can make a show that is faithful to the source material while also being popular with non hardcore fans.
Thing is this source material isn’t proper to keep faithful to it… A TV show have certain needs, and the books are quite weird and far from perfect (even though they are good IMO)
@@matfly4832 I agree that you can't keep to something fully in an adaptation, but they overly butchered the plot in the second season and it resulted in an inferior product to the first season. The first season was mostly faithful to the books, and as you said they did make changes but, overall, it was kept in line with the source material. The results speak for themselves, the second season was rated far worse by the audience compared to the first season.
The books certainly had their problems but you could easily have made a faithful adaption to them with some minor tweaks without completely changing events for no reason.
