@@Murphy-gu1sm Cubase Elements 12 will come with Halion Sonic SE 3, which contains some synths and General MIDI presets (infamously terrible quality, but good as an "old soundfont"). LABS is a free VST that has a lot of really nice HQ instrument options (I still use it with the expensive stuff from time to time). Kontakt's Free Player with the "Free Orchestra" is good to get some of that orchestral sound, but has its limits. You'll also need a physical soundcard to best run the software, I use a Focusrite Scarlett 8i6, but you can get a 2i2 for just $120 or so. If and when you get to the point of investing in the type of instruments I have (electronic is easier), you will need to have a BEEFY computer. Solid State Drives, 32 GB RAM at the very least, and a 6-core CPU at the very least. Even then, running 24 tracks simultaneously from EastWest with Izotope Ozone 9 effects on group channels and active auxiliary sends can cause performance issues in playback (but not in export fortunately). You get what you pay for with audio equipment and software, so start with the free stuff and make sure you really want to do it. Then you can slowly climb the investment ladder. Distribution costs money, too. There's a lot more to it than just music, but if you really want to do it, you will figure it out.

thanks man i don't have any money to really spend on music software but i can still use the free stuff u suggested.
