In October of 2015, Leon Basin and Mike Torres teamed up in New York City for a month of cruising the streets, and exploring new ideas on the Wizard frame setup. wizardskating.com/
I remember when I was a kid I used to rollerblade and I loved it. Skateboarding culture was pushing that rollerblading was lame and I was young and didn't know any better. I stopped becuase it wasnt "cool" and I forgot about rollerblading. The other day I saw a video like this, and remembered how much I enjoyed the flow of inline skates. Anyways, I said f*** it and bought a pair of skates this past week and can't wait to get back into it. Headphones on, sun on my face, rolling down the boardwalk. Thanks for keeping it alive even though this video is almost 2 years old.
@@MrGutterbunny at first I felt like I never had worn a pair in my life. But after a few sessions its already coming back. Toughest thing for me initially was just remembering how to control speed and stop. Got a bit easier as the wheels have been broken in.
That’s been the experience for a lot of us, I didn’t quit for nearly as long as a lot of guys, and I jumped back in at the end of 2018, I also had a spurt where I started skating again in 09-11 so it’s always kinda been around for me. It really saw an upswing last year though! Really stating to pump those numbers up, at one point last year they couldn’t keep stock in The shops haha. All that being said, wizard blading is entirely new to me, I was always into aggressive, but now I mostly just skate my wizard style setup. It’s so freeing
i have the same story, stopped skating as a kid for the same reason, just got some skates and found out my muscles never forgot and i missed it so much, skating is amazing
I don't think Mike Torres feels that way... He's a god on blades too and made this masterpiece... I rather think they're such close friends, they don't waste a thought about trivial stuff like that....
You guys have completely changed my beliefs in skating, wizard blading is about as freeing and artful as skating can get. I rarely do aggressive anymore.
40 yo, haven't been skating for 20 years too... Still had my fitness K2s from the 90s 😆 Discovered a totally new flow with the big wheels triskates and I'm totally hooked again. So much more info now for tuning your skates to your style!
Just started skating 2 days ago, and have been watching videos nonstop whenever im not out skating. This is definitely one of my favorites, the way its filmed, the cuts, the minimal narration and music all fit together so nicely and remind me so much of surfing documentaries!
look at Brain Dead last skating video in collaboration with Wizard Skating and Them skate featuring Junkyu Park, the video is called "Them Skates & Bread Dead present : JK in 5D vision". I'm sure you'll like it
This video gives me the chills in a positive way. I wish I could meet the wizard himself and learn from him over a good chat and skate sess. If you're ever interested in visiting Amsterdam, I would be very happy to host you over man. Vibes

My arab community bullies and insults anyone who skateing😞😖 When I get bored and get frustrated, I go to your channel so that I have inspiration and lift my spirits when I watch you move freely ❤💓
What a beast! I love that he threw in movements that are more idiosyncratic of parkour; and the fact that he leveraged 'wheel bite' to his advantage, just changed the way I think about skating. Bravo sir, bravo.
Only 303 views!!!! Seriously?!!!!! This is by a Googleplex times further and better than any skate video i have ever seen!!! Big KUDOS to Leon for sharing this PURE ART with us!
I can't stop watching this video. It's awesome in every aspect. I'm learning some of these moves and having a great time skating. Thank you Leon Basin!
Think I've watched this video at least 2 dozen times and it's still amazing every time! Leon is a great skater and good guy, always answers any questions that you might have an can offer you advice too
Somehow everything inthis video turned me back onto skating. Soundtrack is amazing. I think we spent the last 20 years growing up, but finally coming back to our senses. So much beauty in the flow I can't be the only one touched by this. Thank you!
This is the video that got me back into inline skating after so many years. I’m hooked and loving every fall. I hope one day I could move around with my morning coffee like Leon!
Watching this made me put my speed skates on and zoom crazy through my beautiful City of New York! Thank you so much for your video's and not just because i skate but life is hard for alot of people amd we all need our own vice and you sure reminded me what mine was. SKATE FOR LIFE!
I love this video as I love skating. Leon's style is austere and unpretentious; it liberates my spirit, my soul. I'm not sure who did the video edit and music, but it all combines in an effortless synergy that inspires me to activity. Leon, thankyou for the gift of wizard skating. It makes life worth living.
Till today this is the video i show anyone who never heard of "wizard skating" the entrance transitions, the flow and the whole video is just pure magic to me. It's still my unbeatable favourite. Pure fire 🔥
Great job guys !!! The cameraman and the actor 😊 the Whole video was amazing but as far as I’m concerned the Brazilian song mixed with his skating stylemade the second part of the video something special !!! Bravo to you Guys 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
This brings back so many memories. I used to skate Manhattan back in 1997 on weekends. I would skate from Wall Street to Harlem and everywhere in between. Sometimes for 8 hours without taking them off. The skating is virtuoso level. The camerawork as well. Cool transition at 7:13.
To me I think it shows someone truly skilled when it looks almost effortless. This doesn't apply just to skating but to many freestyle sports. Great video glad to watch even if I am late to the plate!
Woah now I'm hyped to go back skating . 1 year already since I stopped Your a legit wizard dude because of your video your able to make people go back outside into the real world and feel the wind/breeze/nature. thx for the inspiration hope more people will skate again and go outside rather staring at their mobile phones.
Every rewatch is just as pleasurable as the first one, five years ago. Inspiring work, gentlemen, especially love the Grand Central bit halfway through. Now... When's the next piece coming?!
When I first heard the song “slowdance” it appeared weird to me. Meanwhile it is on my playlist while skating and always switches me into a certain mood of tranquillity and smoothness.😇
Definitely a masterpiece. Mesmerizing to watch. Somehow it seems like the skates allow Leon to flow through the chaos as though he isn’t part of it, like flowing between it somehow. Very cool. Skating would probably help me cope with living in the city. As for Leon, he almost reminds me of Casey Jones. Awesome skates, NYC, cool kick moves. We just need to get him a hockey stick and a face mask.
