This was a really good video. Most Bioshock videos tend to just be about examining objectivism/Andrew Ryan or the gameplay/ludonarrative dissonance. By focusing on the women of BioShock, you highlighted the writing in a way that I didn't think highly before. Thanks.
Hooray for another video in the bank. I still can't believe our almighty father Al Gorithm hasn't blessed you with more attention, but I'm sure it will happen one of these days with videos as good as this. Great overview of the characters and an inclusion of secondary media. Great editing with the audio logs, and just generally good audio mixing. That's one of my pet peeves with less experienced youtubers so it's great that you're on top of it already.
You put up a picture of Diane next to Anna culpepper when talking about how she was Jasmine Jolene’s best friend-fake fan! /j This is an amazing deep dive into the women of Bioshock tho, I’m glad to see someone appreciate Langford and Jack’s moms Tenenbaum and Jolene as much as I appreciate them.
I've been silently watching and liking every one of your videos, but I'm going to start commenting in effort to help boost. I don't have anything important to say, just "Good job ⭐ and I miss the good ole days when we'd run into each other during cons. I'm proud of you."
Another cool fact about Julie Langford that people don't mention that often is that she possibly has a daughter? In the audio diary "The Lazarus Vector" she mentions a person named Becky while calling herself "momma" ("I did, Becky. Momma's gonna build her first damn Franken-tree.") While it is unclear whether Becky is Julie's daughter or not (she might be a friend, a colleague or even a girlfriend), the existence of this character is a nice touch (even though it is largely overlooked by fans).
I wouldn't have caught all this on my own, but I guess that's my own fault for just kind of blazing through games sometimes. Great analysis that made me take a second look at things!
Another banger. I've only ever Played Infinite, and having everyone I've ever known tell me that it's the worst one. So I loveistening to people talk about why the other two are great.
The Last of Us is trash (well, part 1 is decent, part 2 is trash) and so is Infinite. Good vid; bit long and could have done with a little bit of time-trimming in my opinion, but good insight. I think the time-trimming could happen in place of providing plot synopsis-- no one watching this vid here will not have played the games, so I dunno if summarizing what each character actually does in the story is really necessary.
I will say that none of the things I talked about are the main plot and are very easy to miss, and if you aren't familiar with every single person I talked about i didn't want to go in depth about one person and skip another. I didn't want to make assumptions on what people knew!
