Disappointing lack of the "I sold my sister and homework for VIDEO GAMES!!!" type shirts. Everyone who wore those shirts as a child has a criminal record now
Truest thing ever. Gamer clothes as an adult is like a "Merry Christmas" shirt, you can use it ONE TIME A YEAR when (and if) you go to a gaming/anime event and they stay in the closet every other day. Because unless they're really cool designs for even people who don't get the reference, it just feels out of place to where it
I love these tier list videos because every time coney adds a tier, everyone in chat starts spamming “MORE TIERS” with the skeleton emote and it’s great
So I’m watching this thinking “do people gift their children gamer stuff? Who would buy this” but I also remember that as a mini gift for moving into my apartment, my dad got me a sign that says “caution: gamer at work” with a giant non-company-specific controller in the center and I felt bad because I knew I would never hang it up
My ex-GF got me a sign with a pair of glasses on it that said "Talk Nerdy To Me" as a moving gift and I found it in a box in my shed 6 years later, which is where it belongs
My mom gifted me a Rick and Morty szechuan sauce shirt and it was really miserable to be like "yeah I did like this show, but I can't wear this because it makes me look like an asshole"
My favorite part of every Coney tier list is watching as the list goes from 5 or 6 fairly normal specified categories to 10+ hyper-specific tiers that have maximum 3 items in them. Or in other words, SkeletonPls MORE TIERS SkeletonPls MORE TIERS SkeletonPls MORE TIERS SkeletonPls MORE TIERS SkeletonPls MORE TIERS SkeletonPls MORE TIERS SkeletonPls MORE TIERS SkeletonPls
The perfect example of a “grocery store fit” as you put it is my girlfriend who goes around wearing a shirt that says “Save the turtles *big picture of a sea turtle* Dont wear condoms”
I'm so glad Coney brought up the GIRLZ N GAMES comic when he was talking about the Portal shirt, becasue it's literally the only thing I can ever think of now whenever Portal is brought up or if anyone brings up the "the cake is a lie" thing. I was like "ah man I hope someone mentions the comic" and then BOOM, Coney himself delivered
*PLEASE* tell me the _"Yeah, I'm A Gamer. Yeah, I Eat Sand. Yeah, I Eat More Sand Than My Doctor Says Is Healthy. Yeah, I'm Going To Die."_ shirt is here.
I have a bunch of gamer graphic tees but even though they just have some random art I don't usually wear them out lol The worst shirt I still own is definitely one that has a NES cartridge that says "Blow Me" on it lmfao
I like the splatoon zelda merch, that shit kinda goes, I'm rlly sad I can't participate in the splatfest because the nintendo repairs team is taking their sweet time
I have some gamer tshirts, they're mostly gamescom exclusives tho so nothing on this list... I did have a flames creeper shirt as a kid tho, I hope I still have that, that shit's hilarious!
As a lifelong Texas resident (I’m almost at the point in my life where I can fix this issue btw), I loved the Don’t Mess with Tetris shirt. Amazing. It complements my Put Your Cowgirl Panties On And Deal With It bumper sticker
So no joke I am watching this video while wearing a t-shirt that reads "Wanna see my joystick?" with a little Atari-like controller next to it. It's really unfortunate that it's super comfortable because I will not wear it outside of the house-
When I was in 2nd grade, I got a shirt that said "Will trade my sister for video games" and I thought it was so fucking funny. Wore it once, got made fun of, never wore it or any other video game shirt again lol
Coney is better at doing a British Grover voice than anyone who is not working as a voice actor for a British version of Grover has any business being.
I can confirm that any shirt that has a distinct gaming reference on it is not worth wearing in public. In high school I had a shirt that said "I'm not a geek, I'm a level 12 paladin" which I thought was very funny because I was like 15 and played DnD, but I got _so many people_ in school who would ask me "what is a paladin" because unlike something like "fighter" or "wizard", the concept of a "paladin" is kind of foreign to most people. I had to explain that "it's like a holy knight that you'd play in DnD" and sort of mumble through the explanation because it's so esoteric that I literally stopped wearing it. The shirt was too much trouble.
