The only issue I have with this video…and I’m surprised it’s my 1st time disagreeing is not having the need for older people’s advice. While they may not offer advice for a world living in the tech era, they still offer life lessons on morality, spirituality/religious practices, and how to coexist with people (gender, and cultural differences). I’m a millennial and The reason why our generation and younger are leaving us so soon is because we have become lost and disconnected from each other. I think if we incorporate life principles of the past, adapt to the new technology…over time we can have a more balanced life.

Its broadly true enough. Many Parents are taking on tremendous debt loads to fund college degrees that are already obsolete. Yet for every item on this list there are pioneers in their 90s that have been discussing this for decades. Before bitcoin there was eGold for example. They probably should have said “most” instead of implied “all”

You have a point, but what you're referring to, outside the realm of codified law and religion, is the *philosophical* aspect of humanity, which is not necessarily exclusively the realm of older people. Yes of course older people have had the time and generally HAVE more time to contemplate new ideas, but young people can also accelerate learning of where we've come from and where we can improve. These things are also accelerated by digitization; just need to "assign" certain suitable young people to this field. And don't assume that not needing older people is bad; they'll be living up the retired life.

I’m in my mid 50’s and taking advantage of this new world. I’m in the US and live in a town with affordable housing compared to most. I became disabled a couple of years ago. I thought the only thing I could do would be to file for disability and fade away. During the process I learned differently and changed my mindset. I now work in the gig economy when able and am starting a business online. On my good days I work as much as able and if I’m having a bad day or two it’s ok not to work. I’m making almost as much as I did when I “worked” and my ability to grow is what I make it.

I found it interesting that the rise of China was mentioned alongside the fact that religion is on the decline. Without the idea of God or "the Good", western values of personal freedom will be hard to defend-especially to superpowers who don't hold these values as sacred. While it is doubtless that religion has grotesquely misrepresented the idea of God and morality, the philosophy of the Bible and Plato are the primary sources of our "New World" beliefs in Human Rights, Equality, and Freedom. As science and technology moves forward, so must the ethics that guide them. As MLK once put it, science without morality leaves us only with "guided missiles and misguided men." ;-)

Interesting to hear about millionaires living a more modest life. I've been thinking the same thing and I think the culture of sustainability might have a lot to do with that mindset. Working on launching my own apparel brand as I type this. I decided awhile back I don't want to have a luxurious lifestyle if I ever hit big. I just want to be self-employeed and financially comfortable. If I have extra money, then I can make some other cool shit along the way... or solve problems. Also nice that gatekeepers are a thing of the past. It's very easy to start an apparel brand now days since no one needs to go through formal channels to sell their clothing. That's been the same story for anything from musicians, comic artists, authors, etc. Thank you Alux for all the content you provide.

I’ve never agreed and disagreed with a video so much. Traditional values are rooted in the physical world and modern values are rooted in the digital world. Even if the digital space is becoming more popular we have to remember that we exist in the physical world. Not only that but the digital world does have a negative physical impact on the real world due to the need of resources. Not to mention the amount of physical space and electricity needed for servers and clouds. Also old people will always have wisdom to import, maybe not financial wisdom but life skills like perseverance and patience among other things.

Connections, cafeteria, classrooms and other classes.. I agree with some of the tips that you have given but for some it isn't like the universities are not needed in this modern age, maybe it is not because we are in digital stage where information was all over the place. But still learning through online class or self thought while watching videos can be difficult because of the lack of socialization and physical touch or experience. Yes internet is important nowadays but still we must not forget that we live in the material world not on the digital.

@@mzain823 Good question. Maybe it’s up to the people to decide not to be afraid anymore. After all, here in Ireland where I am, it’s only the number of cases being reported - and yes it’s in the thousands - but the number of deaths is truly negligible and basically the same as the number of deaths from influenza every year before 2020. Sad, but not worth halting society over. Anyway, the easing of restrictions in Britain and Ireland should serve as some comfort. We are getting through this!

If your investing experience is less than 10 years, then I suggest you start with 5-6 portfolio, Don't get too high on a single company. learn the process first. Initial diversification isn't bad, it really worked for me during my early years. Remember that the reason for every investment is to make good gain and protection of capital is a must.

I think Generation X was the beginning of the learning of the "Non-linear" future spoken @14:45. We were educated at school into the world of our parents where everything was done using analog, such as drafting on a table using pencil and paper, photography with 35mm film, and the "Golden Watch" for years of service at the retirement years. Once we got into the work force, all of those analog items were quickly replaced with digital ones. Jobs we were trained in quickly advanced and Gen X had to change careers many, many times. Boomers and past generations could get 1 job and stick with it forever, advancing through the company they worked for. Gen X was the first generation to have to change career paths multiple times over their lifetime, which is probably why we can adapt to the changes as "Older People" better.

have to disagree with you. sure "old people" will never be able to compete with younger folks when it comes to technology related things, but the newer generations lack the ability to connect with people in social situations and need to be able to take accountability for their shortcomings. never discount the value of experience.

An exciting new world and bumpy ride. One area I disagree with is the opinion that degrees are no longer useful. The pace of technological change will transform the way some key professions work, rather than kill them off jobs in engineering, architecture, law, project management, accounting, real estate professional . Professionals in those industries who don’t learn new tools or ways may find themselves redundant. Also, new disciplines will be created. Lastly, the pandemic dealt a blow to a lot of young people entering the work place who only have had little or no person to person guidance or examples of how to deal with matters that you can easily observe in an open plan office. Standards will drop and poor practice culture will creep in due to limited guidance. As a university lecturer and practitioner of circa three decades I see this already. The way forward for a considerable amount of years is a hybrid (physical and online) approach to the world of work, until AI, Augmented + Virtual Reality completely make the 19/20th Century eliminate the need for physical office space. By that time mental health issues will be a major growth industry (due to poor social contact skills).

Especially here in Asia, Hong Kong per se degree for certain jobs ie Banking is still necessary. Exercise critical thinking. Every location has their own game in terms of what is valued. I tell young people, Mark Zuck did'nt need a college degree because being admitted to Harvard was a strong enough signal of competence.

New World. Minecraft is already being used as an educational tool in my childrens' primary school. They are learning programming from Kindergarten onwards too. The schools are finally changing to accommodate the future and too many parents are trying to hold onto the old ways. Teachers and early childhood educators are grossly underpaid, and until the governments and society in general understand and appreciate the work that they do, things will stay fairly stagnant. The elderly have some merit still, however this information must be digested and evaluated for it's worthiness, as there are many people I speak to who have such antiquated ideas, that they really are dangerous in this new world. Many people, especially of the older generation or more closed communities are still afraid of stepping outside their comfort zones and embracing change, they cannot stop it, though use so much effort to try to fight it. The key is to work with the children to show them that change is not a scary thing, and that by encouraging and embracing it, then as people and as a society, we can all grow and be better versions of ourselves. All saying this, one thing that I still believe is relevant is face to face interaction, that personal connection that we feel when we see a friend or family member after an absence. And that soon enough, buying a person's time will become a valuable commodity, for it will become a rarity amongst people, to the extent that they may continue to fill their lives with unnecessary things, trying to fulfill this feeling. Just my 5c worth.

I agree with most of these but number 12 @ 18:05 about the" privacy" offered by nord vpn or any vpn for that matter ; what happens when the value of data way exceeds even the value of the entire company ? remember these people have to store your data for billing etc....Can you really trust that these people will never sell our data ??? its an illusion .

All sound pretty good for this now glorious new era but there still a lot of issues to solve, not everyone has the priviledge to access ineternet, education, stable income, even rent a space to live is hard in a third world country like where i came from, maybe all this is possible in other places but in my case im stuck here for life, now more than ever with ridiculous travel restrictions and buy fly tickets and travel can cost me my life savings, not everything is well distributed yet and i work in the IT industry with an average good salary and I can do home office and everything don't get me wrong I am not lazy or negative, but after a lot of effort still feels pretty hard to stand out and make a living from my skills and I see a lot of corruption and manipulation around that won't allow growth

New World, I am an educator in a small town and completely agree with the university experience is no longer necessary. Although it has value in developing social skills, the actual knowledge can and is being gained through technology. It is for this reason, educators need to develop on line skills to continue to reach the students where they spend their time.

"Learning", by Zoom, didn't work for a lot of people. Traditional in person learning, still has it's place. You can buy something worth more than 10K, in cash, they just treat you like a criminal, and want to know where the money came from. It's easier to deposit that money into your bank account(they ask you the same questions),and then get a draft, for the amount. When a government can seize your bank account, it's not worth having money on one.

Religion/ spiritual health is still very powerful reality in human nature. People Will always seek that deeper meaning that money and material success can’t give. I understand people have used religion to manipulate others and that sucks. Other thing - older people‘s advice… There is still value for some of the wisdom older people have. Even if they can’t the up on the latest technology, humans are humans and the older population has something to offer. God help us all as we get older that this young generation will have kindness & respect towards us all as we age.

You need degrees for change of geographies. It's the easiest way to upskill and relocate. People from the west especially from the US don't understand how difficult it's to change geographies. As someone from india, foreign degrees are gateway to the west, and we can cherry pick the countries that gives us the best offer.

This video is right on with projection.Though it is all highly contradictory of the philosophy vs reasoning for changing models.Almost as if this is propaganda put out by corporations to make you follow instructions."the public no longer trust the publicly elected officials " So people no longer pay attention to their actions and completely don't trust themselves or their decision making ? So you have to put your trust and decisions in someone else's hands? What happens when we lose internet or electricity and not for short periods of time. Seriously it's something government's are really worried about and wouldn't be quick fix. Then almost everything on list wouldn't apply. Needing old skills and real in person community and learning old ways from elders would be so important. It's not far stretch this is going to happen. As someone from military who works with all the gov agencies I can tell you that this is going to happen and our society and people now wouldn't know how to handle themselves mentally or take care of themselves. And we aren't the caring help your neighbor kind of society anymore. Having skills and blue collar jobs now make more than most doctors and white collar professionals. Also will be most needed. My husband's business has grown leaps and bounds even when people don't have money some things HAVE to be priority. Service jobs and all these influencers will not be thing. And as far as soldiers not going to be needed true technology can do it but there are so many who do it for so many reasons and don't have to be patriotism. There will always be people who will and some of that is rooted deep in our DNA and psychology. The woke culture will actually be turned around and people running back to old thinking tradional ways and see that in lots of young people now but why society is pushing agendas now and that's based on what governments have held talks on in many organizations not opinion. There will be new ways of wealth and what people believe is wealth. I was able to retire at 32 and then help these agencies as I was asked and on what I chose to do as being retired so early hard to not get bored after while. This list is becoming more incorrect by the week. Learn useful skills have multiple streams of income and build actual communities and real relationships not just online. Don't believe what is being told as narrative. Get offline more.

Elders have worth! They can teach you how to relate to people, how to have faith, how to grow and sustain food and build homes depending on where you want to live. They can teach you your trade of profession and how to build a community. Elders are labor intensive and knowledgeable about life. War and violence is unfortunately inevitable because of ignorance and human instinct, it will always be knowledgeable how to protect your family and community. I don't know where Alux stand on no 7. Your probably right the richer a country the less religious it probably is, but first of all money isn't everything there are better things than money on this earth and second it's because usually religious people give money to the less fortunate or poor people and if you see countries like USA where this is almost no religion there is a very very big gap in money between the rich and poor, at the top billionaires who don't even know a way how to use all their money and at the bottom people who live on the streets and calculate every money they have for food or cloth or their basic needs. So religious countries like my own have a better balance between the rich and the poor because the government and our religion encourages us to share our money not die holding on to it, and never putting it to good use. And also we are less rich than other countries but we are more happier, more satisfied and more connected than those countries. And you said outside their families this generation feels lonely, I agree, this generation needs to be more open and more caring and loving towards their neighbours and friends. We are so addicted to our phones we don't even realize there are people next to us or next door to us. We feel like we are connecting with someone when we text or send a meme or an emoji. But we end up feeling even more lonelier than we were.

University teacher here - education is going more evidence based (Evidence Based Teaching - EBT) and all research shows that human to human interaction during teaching has a much higher benefit than online teaching. So yes, the amount of online teaching is getting higher. But we will also see more social stratification - only the rich will be able to afford in person teachers who are fully qualified. Hence they will get an advantage over others and out perform their peers. So nope, education isn't going fully online...it will only do that for the poor. The higher social classes will get in person learning and outperform everyone else in the long run

Thanks for the continuous great videos,....I feel those who would allow the market dynamism to determine when to trade or not are either new in space in general or probably jut naive, the sphere have seen far worse times than this, enlightened traders continue to make good use of the dip and pump even acquiring more equities towards trading sessions, I'd say that more emphasis should be put into trading, since it's way profitable than holding, Trading went smooth for me as I was able to arise over 6 btc when I started at 1.5btc in just 5 weeks implementing trades with signals and insights from Franklin Harper, I would advised y'all to trade your assets rather than hold for future you aren't sure about.

As someone who went to a prestigious school and has a degree I agree that you don’t need a degree to get a job. It is so irrelevant that someone who went to an ordinary school has the same opportunity and pay as you when you get a job at the same company. Companies doesn’t hire base on degree but on your ability to perform the task.

To me, even if we can automate how we do things.....we still need some level of understanding on how these automations work. A lot of this sounds like an idealistic take that doesn't consider the social (only interacting with people through a screen can be a miserable existence) or financial (billions of dollars in industry depend on office culture) reasons things are the way they are. I must say I have to disagree with a lot of this, especially the school and degrees part (especially for jobs that require a post-graduate degree), also the part of jobs being all remote (works for most seasoned tech job employees and not new hires), college is where kids finally have first freedom to learn themselves and others and make life long friends etc, degrees in crap like dancing, art etc are def pointless, but not STEM degrees .... and there's other things I wouldn't agree with either.

The so called education 'system' is a joke. Went to colleges as a young person than again in my mid 30's. What they so called 'taught' was useless in real world life. One can be book smart yet have no practical knowledge so are they really smart after all? Just saying teaching practical living skills then have options for more fine tuned skills to what ever one may want to do in life is more practical than general crap that most will never need or don't have the brain type to actually learn.

Most but not all of what's on this list in my opinion is spot on except for a couple of things one of which is that religion keeps people poor. While there are many poor religious people the true reason is that they have an external locus of control versus an internal one. This is independent of religious beliefs or lack thereof. The Jewish people have a reputation for managing wealth well, yet there are both wealthy and poor Jews who are religious. People throughout the industrialized countries have religious people who are wealthy and those who aren't. The difference is their belief in themselves to control their own destiny. In contrast, with the widening wealth gap in western nations many people are beginning to believe that they are no longer in control of their financial future and are giving up, leading to deeper levels of poverty. Many of these people aren't religious at all. Religion has been used by some in control to keep the masses in poverty, but it has also been used by leaders to inspire people to escape tyranny and poverty as well. This is why an individual's perspective is critical to their success or failure in life.

Just look at ABC Mouse for the model I would have LOVED! Then the creators have added Adventure Academy for older kids! Teachers are even using it their classrooms! I saw this trend to communities when I researched my first book A Family Survival Manual for Y2K & Beyond. Therefore I began to study how to facilitate community living and have written a book on how to set up an Eco-village. On the Boomers not offering good advice I would agree IF they are not like this Boomer who is studying crypto, metaverse and 3D exterior and interior design for his Raptor Domes Kits ™.
