My heart breaks at "they're afraid of climbing the tree". That's their state of nature they should never be afraid of that. I dream of having the chance to help here one day if possible.

That's actually what you'd have to do. Volunteers have to raise money to cover their own airfare, lodging, etc. These centers don't have the money to fly people in or put them up in hotels.

They're more than incredibly cute. Recently an adult orangutan chewed then used leaves found in the wild to patch and medicate a facial wound. The nasty wound successfully healed! We can learn so much from these genuinely loving and gentle creatures.
