If you're gonna make this one of (or "The") Fastest BMW in the World, why didn't you build the engine while you had it out? Ok, you first wanted to test the xDrive. Right, I knew that. Cool project 👍

I love how all these new modular models means this is now possible to make a (sorta) plug and play OEM 4WD.

Making a xdrive M2 2 years before BMW will make theirs is huge! Hopefully will push others to do the same, makes me wonder if the same is possible with the MK5 supra and the G42 M240ix if you could combine both drivetrains and make a supra AWD. Would like a video showing the process or maybe who to reach out to that coded your trans to ask a few questions!

Mates, don't hesitate to DM me with any software related questions. I have the first non-xDelete, no-hardware-modded G42 LCI XDrive in the US, swappable between awd/rwd configs. I take my xdrive M240i xdrive drifting on the regular. Tons of videos/shorts on my channel. Love the G80 sound BTW! I am super super excited to see this but there are some safety related caveats you may need to be aware of. I also couldn't help but notice the rear wheels spun up faster than the fronts and I could hear a notification chime (likely an error). The gearbox mechatronics don't much know or care about the transfer case. However, the airbag module and more - do. Additionally, the power steering module does have slightly different mapping. These aren't super super important, but they're things to be aware of.

Do you guys have a Parts List needed to do this conversion? I live in south america and would like to check with the parts dealer how much it would cost to do this to my G87.

Wouldn't the X drive from the M240i X drive fit? If its the same engine as the M3/M4 then the sump just has to change to make place for the drive shafts. BmW does it with the rear drive M3 when converting to the Xdrive derivative

Interesting build but… Safety trainers as a minimum or boots are required in a workshop, need to hold a good safety standard especially if you are going to video your work 🤷
