That's not true I lived there 10 years lots of locals have their felt caps and put new pins on them every year till they are covered and shops sell traditional costumes all year too.
You obviously just don't know how to party it's feasting and dancing mostly. I used to only go to Rocktoberfest instead of the traditional polka music but there are 2 universities and a college in town so there is always young people drinking and having fun in that town I would not call it boring.
This is false. As for boring - one of the venues is full of games like target practice, darts, and dunk-tanks. I'm local and we all buy those hats from Hans Haus. My brother and I would bike around all week wearing them. I mean c'mon, where else would I put my Oktoberfest pins?!
