Guinness World Records should be ashamed of themselves for denying the record....they had such a huge opportunity to basically educate a larger portion of humanity about the beauty of hemp and how good it is for the mother Earth. I guess they'd rather keep stigmatizing it.
@@robertchiarizia9463 CBD "hemp" is such a scam.. I guess technically they call it hemp because it fits the low thc requirements but the distinction is laughable at this point. Fiber, seed, oil and drug type cannabis is grown and even mixed use plants are grown in places where it's completely legal.
@@hemptraders5881 “Cannabis advocate Irvin Rosenfeld is the epitome of a cannabis legend. His achievement is recognised and listed in the 2014 Guinness Book of World Records as "the most marijuana consumed". At the time of the record, Rosenfeld had consumed more than 115,000 joints, more than any other person in history. How can such a large number of joints be counted? We don't know, but if it did appear in the Guinness World Records Book, the blue-jacketed judges must have managed to check it. We know that it's very difficult to prove something like this, but his arguments are quite convincing. In 1982, Rosenfeld enrolled in the US government-sponsored Experimental New Drug Research Program. The programme stopped accepting applicants in 1992. Today, Rosenfeld is one of only four patients who continue to receive free joints every day from the government. If we add up all the joints he has smoked over the past 30 years, we get a figure of 120,450 now. And no one else has the paperwork to prove that they've smoked more than Rosenfeld.” , www.alchimiaweb.com/blogen/cannabis-world-records/ there ya go
Those plants are incredibly beautiful and strong! I used to think THC was why cannabis is cool, but that's just scratching the very surface. This should be our national plant, for every single one of its amazing properties.
I love the cannabis plant so much. There's so much diversity in it's use and morphology. It's truly a plant that humans should be living harmoniously with.
@@reidellis1988 the seeds, in those white bags, that were shown when she was talking about how much seed they used and where they got it from, at around 1:06, are pollen pods? are you sure about that?
@@reidellis1988okay, but still OP here, SimEon-jt3sr was talking about those seeds shown at 1:06. they look indeed giant in my opinion aswell. either that or she has toddler sized hands.
@koloblicin I apologize. I missed the bag. I was so focused on the plant that I thought that was what was being referred to. Those are big seeds for sure.✌️
Congratulations! I acknowledge your world record! I hope a Global Hemp Association does too. Those images look amazing! And encouraging to see Queensland Australia compete in the years to come. Swapping out sugar cane for Hemp again! 🎉
I used to grow cannabis for a few years. This hemp video was kinda interesting. They are really tall. Even my tallest outdoor cannabis plants only got 13 feet. So up to 24 feet seems amazingly tall. Its cool watching any plant grow.
@@benwood4db it's like a cousin plant. You can't get high off of it. It gets used for oils and ropes and such. I've even seen it used as insulation. Lots of different uses
That might near be bigger than largest I have seen. When I was younger I was fortunate enough to work for Bill Mollison for a while and he showed me some photos taken in the pre 1980s maybe as early as 1950 of hemp plants he helped improve with permacultre in Hawaii I think it was. They were falling them with a chainsaw into back of an 18 ft truck and looked like was 6-8ft hanging over the back, things looked like trees.
Sadly cannabis ruderalis does contain cannabinoids and occasionally miniscule amounts of thc. None of that diminishes the value of the hempcrete, paper, rope, etc that this miracle plant can produce. My biggest plant was 17 feet. 24 is just massive. Great farming! Keep up the good work 👍
I am wondering if this crop could be used for fiber pellets used in wood burner stoves ?? I look forward to hear back from you Hemp Traders. Nice growing you all. I am still amazed that industrial fibers from the implant still have so many negative connotations for a WEED !!!!
Yes, and I've seen people doing this. Usually it is made from either the pressed hurd or the pressed whole stalk. But pressed hurd probably works better.
Good job, I’m growing Hemp in Colombia..I planted in abril by end of may my plants are over 17Feet tall thanks God i can plant hemp all year around temperature is 85 to 90 degrees all the time…
Congratulations. This is truly an incredible success and extraordinary growth. As for the opinions of others don't worry about it but just keep up this kind of work it will only illuminate ignorance.
plants compete for light. when theres too much foliage around, they grow taller to get above the rest. survival of the tallest for plants like for animals its survival of the fittest if you want to use that analogy. then, you need to take into account the right amount of nutrients the plant needs to allow such growth. if there is no competition for light, the plant will stay short and branch outwards to get more leaves onto itself to soak in more light.
Fantastic! That is a very impressive crop! It is sad how hemp is censored in this way. I wonder when sense and science will finally be recognized for this amazing crop. Thank you very much for sharing the details on how you produced this crop. I look forward to seeing more hemp in Michigan! We get pushback from all sectors including the cannabis growers for concern about cross-pollination.
Ultimately there will be much more acreage of industrial hemp grown than marijuana. Most likely all marijuana grows will move indoors or in greenhouses.
its such an underrated textile. everyone thinks about hemp burlap, but can it replace plastic string, wood pulp paper/cardboard. i mean seriously you guys grew a 24' tree in one growing season with little nutrients, its a revolutionary raw resource that was abandoned for no other reason than getting Dupont rich. way to go guys that things an absolute beast.
You're actually incorrect. All speciations of cannabaceae contain cannabinoids, by definition. You need to research your appeal points before you submit them to any body, even one like Guiness. It's not their fault you don't understand the botany.
Air pressure, a tube with a fry slicing grate made to suit your needs and them you just blast the stalks into strands plus you could run the pump via mechanical linkage from a wind or water mill
We supply the seeds at Hemp Traders. But these are industrial hemp varieties. Most of the crop shown in the video was harvested in late August prior to any flowering. The THC levels were almost zero. We did allow for one part of the crop to go to flower. We tested the female flowers and they had less than 0.3% THC and less than 1% CBD.
Sad (and infuriating) that hemp/cannabis are still subject to ridiculously stupid attitudes. When will people/governments 'grow up' and frame sensible rules and protocols?
It never should have been made illegal, but it scared the corrupt pharmaceutical industry and others who lobbied for it to be taxed out of existence. Also in all prosecutions for crime there must be an injured party that you can confront, so who was injured by the pot in your pocket? Americans need to wake up to how corrupt the Judicial/Legal industry is and has been for years. If we don't we are about to lose all our freedoms.
I have 55% hemp shirts, and they wear amazing and dont hold smell as much. idk if thats in my head, or its a genuine effect of hemp fibers, but I really like them.
When I was a kid we found one growing in a stream bed right next to the water and it grew up more than 6 feet past the road surface of the bridge that spanned the creek. It was another 12-15 feet down to the stream bed below so it was at least 18 feet tall and had the shape of a Christmas tree as it had no competition other than some grass at the bottom and the much larger cotton wood trees all around. This was probably mid to late august just before school started again in SD so near to, but not at, the end of growing season, so it might have gotten bigger had we not chopped it down and wrestled it back to my friend's place to show his parents. It took two 10 year old boys just to drag it because of how much foliage was dragging on the ground.
Wonderful result! Keep up your excellent work, I’m sure you’ll have continued success! ❤ The Guinness organisation is going to make themselves irrelevant if the behaviour described is typical.
I had a hemp plant in my garden grow about 10 foot. Kept feeding it fertilizer and boy did it go for the sky. It was nothing like these but still was a monster
Umm, I mean, did anyone forget that Guiness is... Guiness? Alcohol companies have been known lobby in favor of harsher drug laws the same way the textile companies lobbied against hemp over a hundred years ago. In any case, congratulations on your astounding harvest and amazing plants! Hemp and cannabis will always be a grassroots movement, so keep up the good work and keep sharing!
🤯 btw.... If you wanna break your own record. (And I hope you do) don't FIND the tallest plant. MAKE IT. As the plant grows vertically and produces lateral branches, it loses energy. If you let the plant maintain three nodes of lateral branches at all times while constantly pruning everything underneath those three while it grows, the vertical growth will increase a lot. As you prune these, you will notice that the fiber of the plant becomes straightened. Almost hiding the branch scar. The straighter fibers allow for faster nutrient delivery to the top of the plant and increased turgor pressure. If given just a little bit of silica, and maintaining a good healthy soil, your plants can easily reach 35 ft.
Absolutely wonderful work, very important to research how much carbon hemp can take from the atmosphere. It is time to bring back the plant that will save our civilisation.
Gone well , you should look into the fella from here in Australia he has produced a machine that collects the fibre and chops out the rest while harvesting
We had a sour diesel that grew 27 feet tall, needed a ladder to harvest it. Also for truly monster plants, start them in November in doors. These aren’t record breaking. I’ve seen bigger.
