Interesting, maybe one to experience too but having first hand experience of shibuya which is MUCH larger area than the Osaka area I doubt it was larger even with the “restrictions” in place.

@@NinjaMonkeyguyOsaka "Minami" district is larger than any other downtown district (shopping, eating, drinking, amusement and nightlife district. not including business firms area nor skyscrapers) in Tokyo as a single one, contrary to what many people think. It is because downtowns in Tokyo are significantly dispersed. This is quite a unique feature among world cities. When I was young I used to enjoy nightlife in Shibuya several times a week (it is true, haha) but I was surprised when visited Osaka dotombori area for the first time. Even though streets were straight I couldn`t see the end in any direction. (At that time I had never visited any other cities outside Japan. Of course there are not a few nightlife districts larger than Osaka in the world.)
