This was a real treat. The 1980s were a weird time in comics. Everything was created by old guys or nerds so out of step with current culture, they thought stuff like Michael and Susan were representative of things the kewls thought was kewl. "What's big right now? Is it rockers? It's rockers. Rockers with long hair. Right? Let's make something with a scary Rod Stewart."

You are correct. The West Coast Avenger's Iron Man was James Rhodes. He was a founding memeber of the team. He was also Iron Man during Secret Wars. He was the One, True, Iron Man. ;)

Malekith, by far the most forgettable and the worst MCU villain. Like, when did he talk? And do you even remember anything he did? Besides getting his ass kicked by Frigga? Mystery Goop was a core fundamental of 80s life. You just can't understand how critical the goop was unless you were there. We had a tv show called 'you cant do that on television', and the catchy gimmick of the show was 'drop a bucket of goop on some kid'. And they did, for many years. There was a whole aisle of different goops for your hair, your mustache, your zits, a goop for all occasions.
