Off topic but I was a catcher and basically there’s this one tall batter like really tall and he was standing very far back in the box and he ended up swinging and he ended up hitting his bat against my arm, and I had to go with the rest of the inning just stopping the ball because I couldn’t close my hand . Some people are forced to wear the facemask I can softball sliding mitts or for pro baseball players and stuff that actually like only real baseball players understand the assignment but those keep your hands protected for if you get stepped down or something so you don’t hurt yourself and who doesn’t look a thumb or a pro header like those are good to help you rolling over so shut your mouth

In my league it's a rule that you need to wear an infielding mask. I do play softball so it would hurt a lot more to get hit in the face by the ball, to be fair.

But the first one is a sliding mitt and it’s for if you slide head first if somebody stomps on it it doesn’t hurt

Facemask is an advantage. You can miss the ball in your face and still make the play.

The thumb pro is so you have a better grip on the bat. It pushes the bat more into your fingers giving it more whip

The THUMB PRO is a better version of the pro hitter used in MLB. Allows wrist to strap through the ball while preventing a death grip. Better b/c it doesn’t move around in the hand. That said, the little piece of silicone is crazy expensive to buy and lose.

The only one that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense is the mask but the sliding mitt is so when the shortstop steps on you with his metal spikes it doesn’t break your fingers, and then a lot of mlb players are actually starting to use that thing that goes on your bat because if you hit the ball in the wrong spot on the bat with a ball coming 100 mph it’s gonna hurt like crazy
