I worked with him on the rocket and occasionally tinkered on the submarine. It was a cool job and nothing seemed particularly off about him but I knew as soon as he said that the sub sank that he had murdered her. It was a professional mini sub and not the first one he built. It, like most other subs have automatic emergency air tanks as well as at least 5 other features that made it almost impossible to sink. It really was a beautiful sub. Sad it had to end that way for it.

Kim Wall was from my town and last year her parent’s released a book about her life as a journalist . There were big posterst that told of her discoveries and talked about her life and growing up in Trelleborg . Truly horrible what happend and our town feels more empty .

Now the police are looking into the murder of a Japanese student who was also found in pieces. She was murdered in the 80s. He might have been busy before. I remember the day they found the torso. It was found, literally 10 meters from my usual biking route around Amager. Luckily, my bike punctured halfway to Amager, so i didn't make my usual way around the island. I think that is the first time that I have been happy about a flat tire. The prison system used in nordic countries aims for rehabilation of the prisoners in a way that attempts to keep the prisoners' daily routine as close to what they'd have outside. It's easier to return to society afterwards, is the idea. But yeah I too think it's...a little too much. At this point prison is so cozy there's been records of people recommitting crimes after getting out just because it's harder for them to live outside. They want those free meals, free studying opportunities and cozy accomodation. And that's all paid with taxpayers money. Not every prison is the same quality of course, some aren't as great, like in my home country finland there's this one(?was? At least last time i checked) section used that goes against EU directive in the sense it doesn't meet the requirements for human containment but among nordic countries this is the one that's kinda behind anyways. Could have something to do with the Russia next to us with a long history of it not liking when finland takes too many capitalism influences from western europe. I really want to believe they'll treat people with serious murder charges differently though.

In all honesty, I want an update from Charlie on this guy, since there has actually been an update! And it goes as such: Peter Madsen has been serving jail time for the murder of the reporter (life sentence) for two years so far. Sometime in September, 2020, a documentary was being conducted on Peter Madsen about the whole situation. It was recorded during these interviews that Madsen admitted to purposefully murdering the reporter after having several weeks of contact with her, though he did not specify on how. On October 20, 2020, Peter Madsen attacked and threatened a member of the prison into driving him out of the prison in a white van (some sources say he forced the man to drive through the prison gates, but others say otherwise.) He was seen throwing a ‘gun-like’ object away as he was on the run (most likely a fake gun he’d made to threaten the employee), and in less than a day he was caught, however authorities noticed that he had a strange device attached to his belt that looked like a bomb, so they had to get a bomb squad over with a bomb defusing robot (there are pictures of him sitting the middle of the street with authorities around him with K-9 units just pointing guns at him while the bomb squad did their thing), but thankfully the robot confirmed that it was a fake bomb (also probably used to threaten the employee, the poor employee had a shit day.) and Peter Madsen was fully taken back into custody. Real crazy turn of events, this really is like the most shit James Bond villain ever.

This is kinda surreal. This man seemingly put so much effort into this project (and planning the crime?). The submarine was designed with a crush depth of 400-500 m (1,300-1,600 ft), and had dived to about 100 m (330 ft) before. But then he decided to sink the evidence in a bay that is 20-30 m (60-100 ft) deep at best. Its as if he had burried the corpse in the woods nextdoors. The local law enforcement probably didn't even need any special equipment to recover the evidence. If he had chosen a location elsewhere with sufficient depth it would have been almost impossible to find nor recover. For anyone interested, i am from Denmark and can tell you that the other day Peter Madsen broke out of prison by using a "pistol looking object" and claiming he had a bomb. He got caught and they found out he neither had a gun or bomb and he got escorted back to prison.
