Even though I was in a different industry, I was fresh out of college got an offer to be an art director for a magazine. moved from TN to GA... that was a mistake... helped build an entire identity, magazines, events using multiple hours for little pay. Never again. its part of the reason I am starting into coding. Huge waste of time and effort for nothing.

Seems to me that The business owner did a lot more than most would. I mean, there seemed to be mis communication or at the very least broken promise based on circumstances, like the house not being done. But I have to say, if I asked my boss for a 6k loan for a car, live in a place he owns for near free and use a car of his for eternity, I might get fired for that alone.lol I think above all Chris is bothered about not getting the contract job he was promised. That is the only thing that I think the employer really did wrong. Everything else seems like nit picking. Just my opinion.

I realocated once for a tech company and, although I've been there for 3 years, I've never ever had so bad managers in my life. Luckly I've moved to a better city where more oppotunities exist and managed to leave. So, lesson learned, I'll never realocate for a company, even if that company os Google

Man... I have to do this, because I live in an area with little to no tech, or some of the worst tech opportunities (NV/AZ areas it's service hell jobs and breakfix). Because wages are lower, it's harder to save but you deny yourself career opportunities. It's a bad time with inflation, lack of places to go, high rent, and my case I need to get a better car just to drive out of town. Also do you get a job before you move, or the other way around?

Ooooffff. Man, my friend just did this for the company I was working for at the time. It was a Web3 company, a cash grab. They ended up laying him off because they got hacked 😂 Edit: damn dude. Chris I think it's not that bad because they paid you 6k and gave you a car and apartment and paid for your hotel I see a lot of good things there but if they do it again to another then this personis horrible, come and see my company they want me to build for them next Facebook with not even 6 figure salary

You definitely should have flown to the other city to checkout the house before accepting the offer and flown home the same day so your dogs were not alone overnight, at the company's expense. Not sure why you'd move across the country for a startup for any amount of money - ever.
