I am 47 and starting over in life and I am all in on it. I am starting out with python to learn that first then I will work on JS and html later on. Learning it is hard for me but I am willing to put in the work to do it though.
Not gonna lie, ot was hard listening to this. I aspire and dream to be a software engineer, because of the art of it. This video is a wake up call. Thank you for your guidance, this is humbling.
You talk that talk. These ads make it seem like getting a career in software is some get rich quick scheme. Nice to see someone shed light on how difficult the journey is.
I learned by myself for almost 2 years, and I didn’t know how to use a debugger, and I used the print statement to debug my programs. However, after enrollment in an online degree program, I learned how to use debugger and my programming now is more efficient. I feel I learned a lot in the program
I got my 1st job as a feontend react dev a year ago after 10 months of hustle, self taught no CS degree no bootcamp. Its doable but i was learning my ass pff for 10 hours a day. Now year later i am backend developer, completely new field, i am still learning....
I've learned the hard way, people who have no skin in the game will not appreciate what you do for them. The fact that the guy was complaining about his situation was a clear indicator he was more interested in finding an excuse than finding a way. I have mentored developers and have found they're able to do it on their own with a little guidance. So chalk this up as a learning experience. The same goes for volunteering. I've donated my time to help non-profits and it's usually a colossal waste of time. My stance now is I am very careful as to what I volunteer for and I usually wait for someone to ask me for help instead of offering it. Your heart is in the right place. You need to focus on where your talents are best utilized and appreciated.
7:58 Facts!!!! Finally a real down to earth answer not catered to getting more views. When I first started to learn how to code I was discouraged after 4 months because according to all of the "get a 300k a year coding job in 6 months!" videos I was way behind. I'm past that point now thinking more realistically and am practicing and going to continue to put in work so I can have an at least comfortable life in the future
i did an exercise 4 months ago and yesterday i redid it, and i was shocked by the improvement... both work, but 4 months later i better know how things work. what over 2 years.. or 5 years. im going for it :)
Yea ok .FANG is mainly asians and Hindu with degree's.Stop the cap.If Degrees didnt matter their families wouldnt push for them to get one and they wouldnt be the majority at the FANG companies.Im so tired of these big head guys coming up here purposely steering people in the wrong direction.
Chris I’ve seen your 2021 interview at Bethel Tech just recently. Now I can’t get enough of your podcast. I listen to you and your interviews everyday now. I’m a 50 year old filipino just finished the Bethel Tech Full-Stack Program. Your podcast has stirred up a lot of passion in me in terms of aiming to be the best coder I can be. Keep up the great conversations. You are being a blessing to a lot of people more than you think. I hope I can meet you someday and have just a chill conversation about life. Thank you for being available to us as a witness that proves there is more meaning to life if one will work hard not just for the money but for an ultimate purpose. Thank you!
*You work for 40yrs to have $1m in your retirement, Meanwhile some people are putting just $10k in a meme coin for just few months sometimes lesser and now they are multi millionaires.* *I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life* ✊🏻❤️
Only God knows how much grateful i am. After so much struggles I now own a new house and my family is happy once again everything is finally falling into place! I can't thank you enough Mrs Angela Mae McClain!
@@chrisseantalks I think what caught my eye was the video felt authentic. You spoke about things from your personal view on how you felt things are in tech and your struggles. Truth talk: I've been watching content on RU-vid lately from Software developer Content creators and lately the content has been more click bate. It is starting to become more of a thing to get you to watch their channel versus offering value. So I've been unsubscribing and blocking these channels and watching a very few RU-vidrs which actually add value. This video was a very good example of what I am looking for in a content creator. Lastly it was thoughtful what you tried to do to help that person, that was good to hear.
@@chrisseantalks Your welcome. I think originally at first most of these content creators originally started off trying with good intentions and that was to help others. But along the way most have forgotten the reason why they started creating content, most I would say not all.
I’m gonna be honest with you. It’s possible he felt like he simply didn’t have what it takes. I’m learning code and on some days I feel like I am doing well. But there’s always this part in me that keeps reminding myself, that there’s so much more harder material then what I’m doing at the moment and other people who can do it a 100 times better than I can. Sometimes that just eats away at you, I have a friend who has a career in this stuff, and I never talk to him about it because I just feel like a fool compared to what he knows.
devving is hard af lol i been at it for 18 months, got a job in tech and made redundant and still feel like im a baby lol and now im like fully getting into linux, i have learnt so much tho. never quitting!
