I was at the game when super Johnny Walters had his nightmare day. However, not only did he get the own goals but his pen actually hit the top of the bar, pinged around the Boothen End and just as I turned round, it smacked me straight in the face. What a day 😩
@@roonieramshaw929 some people make alternative accounts to triple captain random players in the hope they have an amazing game and get a load of points
I once had berbatov as captain for 10 games. He didn’t score once. Took him out only for him to score 5 in the next game 🙈 . Oh and why would anyone have bednarak as captain 😂
Here's others I found while researching: Gary Caldwell Chelsea 8 - 0 Wigan. 31 minutes, Red card. -5 2009/10 Jamie Carragher Liverpool 2 - 3 Man United. 2 own goals 1999/00 (Before FPL started) Jonny Evans Man United 1 - 6 Man City. 47 minutes. -5 2011/12 Giroud Arsenal 2 - 1 QPR. 52 minutes, Red card. -2 2014/15 Ibrahimovic. Yellow card. Missed penalty. -1 Man Utd 1 - 1 Bournemouth 2016/17 Jonathan Woodgate - The worst debut ever? Own goal and red card on Real Madrid debut. 2005/06 Martín Palermo Argentina 0 - 3 Colombia. 3 missed penalties 1999 Copa America Goalkeepers Thibaut Courtois. 52 minutes, Red card. -3 Chelsea 2 - 2 Swansea. 2015/16 (GW1!) Allan McGregor West Ham 2 - 1 Hull. 23 minutes, Red card. -3 2013/14 Doni Blackburn 2 - 3 Liverpool. 25 minutes, Red card. -3 2011/12. Made 4 apps all season Jääskeläinen Bolton Wonders 2 - 2 Birmingham. 36 minutes, Red card. -3 2010/11 Brad Friedel Liverpool 5 - 0 Aston Villa. 63 minutes, Red card. -3 2009/10
this is great! thanks for the laughs. I remember the Benarek disaster well - I had almost transferred him in the week before his disastrous game - I realized that I had luckily dodged a bullet, but until never realized that it was the biggest bullet in FPL history!
Thanks for the interesting content Oscar. I remember once you presented a video about the highest ever single GW score. Anyway for the lowest ever single GW score, highest total season score,... Would be interesting too.
I'd love to do this too, will be a harder one to research as assist records aren't great going back 10+ years, and FPL assists aren't recorded anywhere
As a stoke fan I instantly knew Walters would be in here, an absolutely stalwart at RM or ST for stoke, played the most consecutive 90 minutes for ant PL club at the time, and was so consistently a 7/10 for us. Every fan felt for him that day.
I had bednarek that gameweek on my bench and he was the 2nd player on my bench but I was playing a 3 back and one of my defenders didn't play so bednarek came on 😭😭😭
Although only a -1 Dennis for Watford in 21/22 last season deserves an honorable mention. Mainly because it was a DGW and a lot of FPL managers including me had captained him so it became -2
I'm lowkey baffled my side (Sunderland) didn't have 1 or 2 more entries to this list. Then again I don't do FPL often, so idk the ins & outs, but I remember the horror show that was; 18th October 2014: Santiago Vergini, scoring the infamous own goal in an 8-0 demolition away to Southampton. Also worth pointing out that both Liam Bridcutt & Patrick van Aanholt scored own goals that game, not forgetting Bridcutt was booked as well.
Fantastic creative vid again Oscar! With these type of videos you should compare the team to the actual lowest scoring team that a manager has recieved (if you can). Just a thought
Awesome video! I just love your content, I can always see how much time and effort and love goes into each and every video! thank you so much that FPL Focal ❤
This content is why I subscribe 👏🏾 I played FPL in 02/03 and fondly recall the legendary Michael Proctor. On a similar theme, I remember captaining Sunderland's Darren Bent vs Spurs in 2010, who scored twice but also had two penalties saved by Heurelho Gomes.
Harry Kane got an assist last season having a shot going wide that bounced back to son to score 🙄 it took my mate ahead of me 😂 and how salah is counted as midfielder with 5 for a goal and clean sheet bonus does my head in. Can’t stick him in being a blue nose
thanks again - some other possible funny topics - biggest hauls by players with rock bottom prices! Or the most unusual points - I remember Tim Howard scoring a goal a few years back while playing goalie for Everton. I guess a goalie gets 6 points for a goal, just like a defender? They should probably change the rule and give him 10 points!
My worst fpl point is when i first time playing fpl and i still dont know how to play, using bench boost when liverpool play againts villa and villa destroy liverpool 7-2 and my player in def and goalkeeper is from liverpool
You really should have played your free hit anyway then. Those transfers would have been incorporated in the free hit and you wouldn't have lost any points.
