my understanding of Gen-Z vocab Rizz = charisma/appeal zesty = acting gay slay = an encouraging cheer NPC = somebody whose vocab is robotic cap = aint no way I forgor = you forgot something, but you make a light-hearted joke about it. generally does not deviate from the severity of the absent mindedness. off the top of my head, those are the ones I hear most often, although im sure there are more.

"I forgor" is a direct reference to a meme of the same name from around 2020-2021. Basically its a twitter screenshot where a guy tags the Walmart twitter account saying they have a question, and then when walmart responded they just said "I forgor 💀".

My favorite slang term has probably been “cracked” for a while now. I had a friend tell me I’m the only person he knows who says it, and that’s rubbed off on one more of my friends, but I still say it all the time and tbh I feel like it fits. In a close second for me is “bruh moment,” but more specifically just “moment” as a word to describe a situation via an analogy. Both top tier slang terms for me.

Ive heard a lot of these phrases from my siblings who are 12 and 8 and whenever they use these phrases I get soo freaking confused. Like my sister always says " Slay" or my brother will call me an NPC ( I know the abreviation from gaming) Or my sister will talk about a boy she has a crush on and say hes a baddie that one I got right away because of " Hes the baddest or so bad" from the 90s when I was in Elementary school. I know my siblings got these phrases from Tiktok we dont live in the US. My siblings are obssessed with Tiktok they are on it for 4-6 hours a day.

One of my friends uses NPC ways that make no sense. Like someone could forget their wattle bottle and he will call them an NPC.

I am a millennial i have seen many waves of slang. every time i think its lame but then i start liking it and using it a lot and then its dated but some slang becomes timeless. i hope i don't become like older people who don't understand new slang. like in the early 2000s someone said wats up dawg to my dad and he got mad he thought he called him a dog. or that time when my grandma tried to use "modern" slang back in the 2000s. but it was slang from the 1980s but to her that was modern. you can even see it with joe Biden he sometimes uses very archaic 1960s or 1950s slang almost nobody understands anymore. even 50 year olds don't know what he is saying sometimes.
