The entire film from start to finish is an absolute masterpiece. It's basically if Tommy Wiseau was told to make a film about Titanic. It's incredible. 💯
@@Adrianne519 thanks for the recommendation! Just watched it and his was great too lol all them just have great takes on this poor excuse for a movie lol
There's one song in this that I legitimately really liked as a kid lol ("holding me")- the hook has stuck with me for basically my whole life. It's a crap movie, but it's kinda fun. Also I kinda feel like the main girl's design, the locket, and the missing mother are more a reference to Anastasia (despite the obvious Cinderella trope with the cleaning girl routine and the step family).
The Legend of Tentacolino version is the best....because it turns out everyone survived the wreck to live in an undersea kingdom with oxygen bubbles on thier heads. There's a much better talking dog..a steampunk rough collie who accompanies his humans on a tricked out bathysphere. Also, there is a war between living toys, sentient rats and the Atlantis people. And we cant forget Tentacollino, the pink anime eyed octopus who accidentally caused the wreck in the first place, but its OK because he held the ship together with his giant tentacles and got them to Atlantis in time to save them! That beats a dumb rapping schnauzer ANYDAY!
IDk the Legend of the Titanic is pretty wild too. What with the girl who uses her tears to speak to dolphins, and the giant octopus that saves everyone on board the Titanic, rendering the tragedy nonexistent.
Now I personally love fictional horror, I think being interested in true crime and such is okay, but people who feel the need to capitalize off actual tragedies are the real sickos to me.
People joke saying its akin to making an animated movie trivializing 9/11 but lm surprised one hasnt been made already based on whose running western entertainment
There's something that, once I noticed it, I couldn't stop looking at it: Annoying Blond Jack Surrogate's lips are the exact same shade of YELLOW as his eyebrows. I don't know if they were going for jaundice or what.
I swear the moment I learn that there was a rapping dog, I immediately assumed that this was during the time all of these animators were on weed while listening to hip-hop.
From I have heard the bad rap song was purely a result of the Localization. The original dub for the song is also on RU-vid and is actually much better. The final movie was apparently heavily edited down when translated over seas as there was actually a bit more time setting it up in the original dub language.
@@Balrog-tf3bg Yes. In it, Angelica and William end up in Atlantis where they are trapped forever, because they drink a potion that makes them immortal. Oh, and also Will is a total jerk to his wife now. In the end the people of Atlantis renovate the remains of the sunken Titanic so Will and Angelica can live on it, presumably having to clear out the remains of everyone who died on board in the process. You know, for kids! Edit: I just realized that the sequel to the OTHER awful animated Titanic movie, which is somehow even worse...
I first heard about this movie from the Nostalgia Critic and I’m so glad more people are reacting to it. Though, you’d be surprised to know that this movie is closer to the story of the real life tragedy than the other animated movies. There’s a duology called The Legend of the Titanic that features talking sharks, moon beam magic, and a mouse falling in love with a human. The sequel is about Atlantis.
Yeah, first learned about the movies from older Nostalgia Critic videos too (and the fact that there's a bunch of other movie sequels is both mind-boggling and hilarious to me). Didn't some of the animators who worked on these movies worked on some of NK's animated movies? I think they're all under the same Italian company, but I'm not certain.
I found out recently too that, after the sequel, there's a cartoon called Fantasy Island that lasted over 20 episodes. I watched the first episode and now the line of the octopus going "YOU JUST MAKE-A FUN-A ME BECAUSE I CANT-A COUNT" lives rent free in my head
I think Kurtis or Danny Gonzales saw this movie too lmao. I think it was Kurtis Conner. As soon as i saw "worst movie" and "Titanic" in the title, I was like please be that one.
Whenever I see that there's a video that covers this absolute train wreck of a dumpster fire I just GOTTA click on it to watch it. It's become like a second instinct for me
Titanic The Legend Goes On and The Legend of the Titanic feel like the same movie from two distinct but equally horrible timelines which both somehow ended up in ours.
Not the BONK!! 😅😂😂😂 I remember going to an anime convention and there was a panel where this guy did a deep dive on these Titanic movies. His panel was hilarious 😅😂😅 seeing you review this and talk about the rapping dog unlocked a core memory.
FINALLY MORE ARE TALKING ABOUT THIS MOVIE, this movie is so weird and bad for so many reasons that I can’t help but love it, the party time dog is iconic tbh 🤩
Oh my god I’m so glad you finally reacted to this, I actually liked this movie as a kid but that was purely because of the Titanic aspect, I was into everything Titanic and it was a massive part of my life, it still is in many ways. But yeah becoming an adult helped me to see just how hilariously awful this movie was, even though it holds a weird place in my heart still lmao
I don't get people who are using this much energy to animate and release a movie. but then use 0.0001% of a single brain cell to build a decent story and characters ... like it doesn't take THAT much effort to make something decent which isn't a remix of a bunch of ripoffs, most children can write better cr*p than this?
17:15 I'll never forget a reviewer in an old blog who said "Bastards! I can't believe that the only main character who died was the lady with the big gazoongas!... I wonder if there's rule34 of her on the web?" [Next parragraph was a NSFW image of the rapping dog and an uninteligible string of letters in all-caps]
As some of the other comments have said, definitely recommend looking up the sequels - there's a weird octopus/kraken guy that helps save another ship the MCs get on, and they even visit Atlantis (the fact there's even sequels at all is hilarious and mind-boggling to me). I also recommend checking out NK's old animated knock-off movies/shows, I think their funded by the same company that made the Titanic movies and they're also trippy af! 0_0
just gonna say after hearing all the hype about the titanic movie for a good portion of my life... when i finally did watch it at like 23, i called it the biggest mid movie ever
I'm literally crying 🤣🤣🤣 This is one of the worst things I've ever seen!!! Also they stole ideas from The Three Caballeros, Anastasia, Beauty & the Beast, & other things I'm sure. How TF did this happen!? 🏴☠️
Omg! I've been super into the Titanic again because of a Channel called "Oceanliner Designs" and now you come out with a Titanic vid! YAAAAAAAASS! Also, good to see you again in general!😃😃😃
