He wanted to BE Timothy. Timothy was adorable and Paul is…well, you’ve seen Paul. Paul’s outer shell reflects what’s to be found on the inside, which is evil.
Paul wanted to beat him. If shanda hadn't been there, he would have... paul blamed him for everything, and I'd bet paul was lying over half the time.. he enjoyed torturing Timothy..
I just don't understand how she got away with constantly texting and watching cameras on her phone at work? Maybe she wasnt the legal mind she claimed to be...they just tolerated her...!?
He was raised by evil. He was evil too. He wanted his momma to just love him . He didn't want to share her. He wanted to be all in her eyes, life and sick twisted mind
@@Booooberrie they both abused him. Unfortunately the text messages show mostly what Shanda was encouraging Paul to do, not what she did when she was in the home with Timothy.
@@70sChildJDthey were both guilty but he was with him more often and had every chance to help him sneak him food, get him to a safe place call someone and he didn't, so he had every chance and just abused him, where Shanda was just fked in the head and thought she was teaching him lessons or punishing him for behavior she thought was bad. They both belong in jail for life.
I can only guess that it has something to do with what he was allowed to do at Eric and Trish’s and what he was expected to endure at Shanda’s. Shanda has mentioned more than once that she was the disciplinarian.
So this is just some things I have gathered that may shed light on Paul's words, he repeated this statement several times. It appears that Shanda lost custody of both Timothy and Paul to their father, when they were younger, because CPS found credible evidence she abused them both and ordered no contact. She moved out of state and was gone for many years. The boys were raised by their father and step mother, who Paul came to resent. The father wanted half of Paul's paycheck and was making demands of him Paul was not meeting or felt were fair, so the father kicked Paul out and Paul reconnected with Shandra, likely not having anywhere else to go,. When they reconnected, she told him that lies were placed in his head about her, and that she loved them and she was not the bad one, saying it was the father who was the abusive one. She told Paul that she was kept away from her boys and she loved them dearly. Paul, angry at his father, bought it hook line and sinker. Paul went and lived with Shandra, who continued to paint herself to be a saint and loving mother and they bonded. Paul believed her lies and she told him what he wanted to hear. Timothy came one year later to live with Shandra, as his issues were becoming too much to handle at his father's house. Shandra believed she could fix him, because obviously the problem was his father's abuse, not hers, and felt she could raise him better. Timothy could have remembered his mother's abuse and sustained lasting trauma, unlike Paul, who suppressed it, and who was able to become blinded by this sadistic control freak of a woman, and thus himself repeating the cycle of abuse. Classic case of victim to perpetrator cycle. Paul likely saw Timothy as something that became the painful reminder of their past back at his fathers, the place he was running away from, and also saw him as a nuisance. Timothy was seen as something that came between his relationship with his mother, who up until the point Timothy came to live with them one, Paul felt everything was peachy keen between Shandra and himself. Paul did not want anything to do with Timothy, and as a result of having to deal with Timothy's issues and struggles, and having to be the one to assist his mother in these abuses, he became callous and eventually didn't care if he lived or died, which in turn lead to Paul using Timothy to vent out his frustrations on. Paul justified the abuse and then inflicted the abuse as well. Paul saw it as a burden almost that he felt he had to keep monitoring him with the alarms and cameras, and felt frustration about abusing him (kinda like "why are you making me do this?") but also feeling very compelled to do it at the same time, as it became another source of sick, weird bonding for him and his mother. Paul often wanted Timothy sent away so life could go back to the honeymoon phase his mother groomed him into. Shandra insisted Timothy be there, and that she knew better, not wanting to turn him over to anyone, likely due to her ego. She often presented as if she was the smartest person and the room, and knew the things to do and say to manipulate others. She was going to school to be a lawyer, after all, likely to abuse the system. Shandra had a much longer history of being the abuser than Paul did, and was mentoring him so to speak. She encouraged his abuse of Timothy and enjoyed it. Like a weird pride that the rotten apple didn't fall far from the tree. Shandra did not just abuse Timothy and Paul, but her older two children as well, who made statements regarding their mother in court condemning her, which she wouldn't even look at them. The youngest Gabriel, appears to be the only one who was not abused as badly, being seen as "a miracle child", since Shandra had her tubes tied and still got pregnant. She saw it as a new chance and didn't feel Gabriel was tarnished as the other children were, so it appears he was spared in some regards, but I would still say that him having to see the abuse of his brother is still abuse on him as well at the very least. Paul appears to have felt his mother was doing this abuse to Timothy for Timothy's own good, to help him move past his issues and past traumas, and Paul believed that Timothy was being stubborn and defiant in his ability to mold seamlessly into Shandra's life as he did. She broke Paul but she didn't break Timothy. That boy was a fighter until the end. Timothy was seen as less than an animal, they treated their animals better, because he was unable to move past his terrible past abuse inflicted to him by his mother and they felt burdened by Timothy's neurodivergent struggles, so they felt he had to keep enduring the abuse, to "correct him" and help him get over the past somehow. Sorry for the book, I hope this helps shed some kind of clarity on this horrid and tragic situation.
@@CelestionPhoenix I'd say you summed up this story quite well. So many people are only finding out about this case after the fact. When I comment about this case, I have done my research and watched the trials. When people come to chat on various channels they always want to know "what happened?" Thank you for explaining it for so many that don't want to do the work it takes to know the many details this case has brought to light. You're right, Shanda broke Paul, but she did NOT break Timothy. He saw right through her. Even though he was trapped, Timothy WON.
@@CelestionPhoenixthank you for that, I am one who has just the past few days been reading and "catching up" with this horrible incident I appreciate you filling in the holes - I questioned why this and that as well - this poor boy it's unfreakin real what they did and got away with for so long, I'm a believer and this is just IMO I believe Timothy now knows unconditional love as he's never known it here on earth and he's no longer hungry his table is full RIP Timothy 🙏❤️🙏
She put him in a position to deprive Timothy of sleep therefore he couldn't sleep. She was abusing them both. Of course he would blame it on Timothy because he lived under her roof. He's culpable but also a victim of her evil.
I aim not excusing Paul at all, but I find it puzzling that I see no mention anywhere of the fact that he had a night job and was "supervising" (if you can call it that) Timothy during the day when his mother was at work. When did Paul get to sleep? His brain wouldn't have been functioning very well with such longterm sleep deprivation.
@@judepower4425 Shanda placed little value on sleep for anyone except herself. She woke Paul up at 6am every working day to walk her dog. I do believe Paul and Timothy were sleep deprived. That said, Paul had so many opportunities to report and get out of the situation and he chose not to, likely because he was an eager participant in Timothy’s abuse and also, as the judge said, he felt he had nowhere else to go. Sleep deprivation is serious but I don’t believe it caused the abuse. A sleep deprived person at their wit’s end could have just as easily called 911 or DSS or even a relative.
@@chaz4471 Not documented by anything other than suspicions as far as the SA, but the bullying was known and they were supposed to be kept separate at home as well as at school. Paul had a jail call with Trish in which he mentioned genital blisters that he had for “a few years.” Sounded like possible herpes. But Paul said he was a virgin.
