Paul's temper gets worse even as he realizes that Timothy is starving. He and Shanda continue to play a mutual game of "he's faking it" as Timothy grows weaker and less responsive. Texts on the morning of Timothy's death are suspiciously different than usual. Shanda doesn't usually wait longer than a minute after her first early morning wake-up to Paul to text again if his answer is not immediate, but on this day she waits four minutes, and then another four. Apparently, after not receiving an answer, she went downstairs and found Timothy dead.
