Second they said “compliment something ‘unique’ about her” which is a perfectly reasonable way to hit on a woman, in my opinion as one. Men usually have absolutely no clue how much male attention women typically have to deal with from day to day, and think they are the first for that woman that day giving her attention, and don't realize they are probably dealing with the 3rd or 4th man that day. And when men are given an example and to think that situation over, they usually completely fail to realize that that example is not "hot or sexy" because in their mind they think "HOT!! Several women a day giving me attention!?" but would probably just get bored just as quickly as women do should they experience the same amount of attention that women do from men. It's the thing when men say women act "stuck up" because of not getting a response back from their attempt at getting attention, and just don't realize that women typically get so much male attention in places in which they have totally other things on their mind that they just stop responding to it.
