Glacier is what we would have gotten from Steve Austin in the WWF if he chose the name Chilly McFreeze instead of Stone Cold.

I don't understand what they were thinking with Shockmaster. Even if he didn't fall down and make a joke out of himself, he was literally wearing a glitter-covered storm trooper helmet. If WCW kept the character around with that helmet, they would have gotten sued by at least a couple companies (Lucasfilm and whatever toy company made the helmet)

2:00 Glacier was a ripoff of an extremely _specific_ version of Sub-Zero too, he's specifially a ripoff of Unmasked Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat 3

I think the whole "Yeti being a mummy" thing was a last-minute WCW thing. I heard they originally wanted El Gigante/Giant Gonzalez to be The Yeti (wearing a suit similar to what he wore in WWF which would at least make sense) but by the time Halloween Havoc was near, they couldn't secure him, so they wrapped Ron Reis in mummy attire. The plan was when they finally secured Giant Gonzalez, they would unwrap the bandages and reveal him. It all ended up for naught at the end as they never were able to get him, and The Yeti being a mummy was never explained. I don't know how accurate this is, though. The three giants at World War 3 were supposed to be Gonzalez as The Yeti, The Giant/Big Show and Reis as "Super Giant Ninja".

The most underrated part of the shock masters debut to me is that when Sting is announcing his name he gets slightly cut off by Booker t yelling "what!?" Its not even like a what of fear it's just more in confusion that they got THEE Shockmaster like we're all suppose to know who this is already.

We have Razor Ramon and Diesel at home.

I'm so glad you covered Bret in WCW and I think it was one of the biggest cases of mishandling of talent ever in any promotion and I also feel that the people with dollar signs in their eyes are still perpetuating this. Karrion Kross when he was initially called up to the main roster in 2021 lost to Jeff Hardy, while he was NXT Champion, and then he was repackaged with a goofy spartan outfit before he was cut.

Why do I get the feeling that due to lack of Glacier being featured on Reliving The War that WB had put together this video to slake that need to dump on the gimmick?

As it pertains to the Fake Razor and Fake Diesel debuts, I often check out the War Stories episode on the Outsiders, and Kevin Nash had claimed, though Eric Bischoff denies it, that WCW was so scared the Nash and Scott Hall were planning a WWF return, that they offered the Outsiders an extra $400,000 a year to stay. So yeah, not only did the "return" of "Razor Ramon" and "Diesel" make the WWF (WWE today) look like petty idiots, but if you believe Big Kev, it also hastened WCW's downfall a little bit.

Tna should've never hired Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff to begin with, and they should have been off doing their own thing instead of trying to competing with WWE and trying to become another WCW. Hogan and Bischoff were two key people behind the death of WCW, and it was probably inevitable that this was never gonna work out for TNA. I'm honestly surprised they haven't gone out of business at this point

I remember they tried to kayfabe that whole Matt Sydal botch by having it explained that it was Michael Nakazawa (who at the time had a gimmick of a man who loved to oil himself up like he was Hakan from Street Fighter 4) oiling up the turnbuckle that Matt was gonna do the SSP off of.

ngl, I had no problem with the Glaicer gimmick at the time. But since WCW came out a revolutionized Professional Wrestling, the Glacier gimmick was not good. But we got Mortis / Kanyon because of it.

The fake Razor and Diesel weren't supposed to be taken seriously. Idk why people think they were. It was Vince mocking Hall and Nash. They were NEVER supposed to look good or to be taken seriously. If you think otherwise, you're missing the point. It was a petty move by Vince.

I don't know about best debut, but Randy Savage was treated like the king of the universe in his WWF debut with getting the pick of managers. I can't think of anyone being talked about quite that well. Probably why Hogan did what he did for all those years. Being honest if you watch his early matches, even with folks lower down the card, it's hard to argue with them. He's up, down, and all around giving performances that would work today.

For a horrible debut, I echo some peoples' sentiment with Karrion Kross's debut on the main roster. The reason why it went the way it did is because of Vince McMahan's stupidity and pettiness that NXT was better than the main roster (at the time). So, he made their world champ look like an idiot as an excuse to get rid of NXT because he, in his own words, did not want anymore "midgets" on his programming. His words, not mine.

I really enjoyed parts of Warriors WcW intro promo. Would be cool to see it edited down to the 3-5 solid minutes though.

No-one will ever surpass the Shockmaster.

Just for the record My favorite part of Shockmasters debut is the big smiling cardboard cutout of Rick Flair in the background. Priceless!

I did like that after Sydal's debut, there was a joke on Being The Elite about Michael Nakazawa having put baby oil on the turnbuckle before the match. I appreciate a company that can take things in stride and poke a bit of fun at themselves when stuff goes wrong.

Someone probably told you, but Yeti was supposed to be Giant Gonzalez, presumably with his WWF outfit, which would make more sense. Reis would be another Giant character.

You honestly are the greatest wrestling channel out there, your so knowledgeable on wrestling and you can tell how passionate you are for the Business!!!

Never forget also that Sid was screaming at the shockmaster the whole time everyone else was laughing trying to keep everything together

I remember one match that Fake Razor and Fake Diesel had. What cracked me up about it was, in the middle of the match when the audience was booing them, Jim Ross commented, "I don't understand why everybody's booing them". Oh, brother. 😄😆

Black Scorpion. DDP in WWF. Booker in WWF hurting Stone Cold. Buff in WWF. Deacon Batista. Phantasio. I remember being disappointed when Bam Bam chose Oliver Humperdink as his manager after all that build up.

Five ideas for Bret Hart off the top of my head: 1) Debuts on Nitro and slaps the Sharpshooter on Bischoff. 2) Debuts on Nitro but puts the Sharpshooter on Larry. 3) Debuts on Nitro with a scorching promo about the WWF and challenges the best WCW has to offer. 4) Debuts on Nitro cuts the promo, and one of WCW's top stars comes out to confront him, giving us, say, a Sting-Hart, DDP-Hart, Goldberg-Hart, or Savage-Hart main event. 5) If he has to be the referee of the match he was enlisted for, don't have him debut until Starrcade 1997, have it be a mystery that forces fans to buy the PPV to see his debut. And, in this case, it would be worth it, since he had momentum coming off the Screwjob.

Glacier's debut may have been a big dud, but it gave us a memorable Reliving the War moment with the buildup to that debut getting increasingly funnier.

Fake Diesel and Fake Razor were in Survivor Series in 1996 as well as they challenged for the WWF tag titles against Owen Hart and British Bulldog at an In Your House PPV. That's how absurd that got.

I actually liked glacier i mean his debut took a long time, and he was basically a character from Mortal kombat 3, but i still enjoyed and loved the character for what he was.

At Survivor Series 90 I had only been a wrestling fan for a few months, so this was my first supercard where I'd seen all the build up. I remember the commentators trying to put the character over, but it was so obvious that fans were booing.

5 Bret Hart debuts off the top of my head 1. Bret debuts at Starrcade during the Sting v. Hogan match. Sting is destroying Hogan. Ref bump. NWO run out. Bret debuts and stops them. Sting wins. 2. Sting beats Hogan at Starrcade. Everyone is celebrating and Bret walks out and the man who never lost the WWF title challenges the new WCW Champion. 3. The Nitro after Starrcade, Hogan demands his title back. Hart debuts and the two face off. 4. The Hart Foundation (Bret, Jim, Bulldog) arrive on Nitro before the Starrcade event. Bret shoots on the screwjob and about evil promoters. He shoots on Bischoff and the NWO and says the Hart Foundation is going to take it all out on the NWO and wants Hogan as he has been ducking him for years. 5. Night after Starrcade, Hart debuts and takes out Hogan and the NWO replace Hogan with Hart as their new leader.

Winning titles in 10 different promotions isn't as impressive as it sounds. A toy wwe Championship belt at wal mart is worth more than half the titles Evan Bourne has won.

I remember the whole Glacier build up and how long it went... and how long it kept going... and how long it was never going to end. And then... it FINALLY HAPPENED... on Pro Wrestling. And I was one of those watching and I was like... wait... is this that guy they were talking about all this time? on this little show? So messed up.

Lord Tensai comes to mind. I knew that gimmick was dead the minute Matt Bloom walked out. They should have just modernized his A-Train character. He became quite the WWE trainer though.
