Drones are banned in most if not all Middle Eastern countries My advice google "Can I take a drone to whatever country you going to" Just did it and it took 5 seconds Problem solved
I typed in 'Egypt drone laws' and the first thing that comes up from a site called UAV Systems international is 'Egypt prohibits the use and trade of drones.' By many accounts, Egypt is a bit of shit place to visit as a tourist, but it's not like they're hiding their drone laws. Bit of prior googling would seem to have solved this issue.
@@kitt7477 It's heavily restricted for locals, and without a permit, punishable by law. Locals just ignore the laws. However, they don't turn up at the local police station and start showing them off, which is in effect what foreign tourists are doing when they pitch up at customs with a drone.
Didn't you research anything before you came here??? I was out in 30 min???? Try researching before you travel next time. It's a night show every night.you guys make it hard for yourselves.
So because you had a problem with the police or the management of the airport the country is whole shit for you and you not going to visit again! actually when don't wanna see you again! Ive been facing a problem with security and police in many places but I never dislike the whole experience for such a thing! go Switzerland for vacation bro its the luxury that suits you!
If you did a little research you would find out No drones or camera equipment. They will pick apart your luggage. You should called a local guide to meet you at airport. Walk you through process.
I am sorry to hear about your difficulties, but can I ask why oh why would you attempt to take a drone to Egypt? Certainly at least do a bit of research prior to travelling to a country well known as not tourist friendly. Glad you all made it home safely.
We were on a world trip at the time. We understood the drone would be confiscated however that process went a lot worse than expected. We were treated like terrorists & even got accused of drug trafficking. Entry to Egypt was probably the worst part of the trip. Although we did have some other issues along the way, Luxor & Hurghada went a lot smoother.
My wife Miranda and I spent a week at the Four Seasons Cairo last July whilst summering in the south of France. I must say the people of Egypt were nothing short of extraordinary. Food was fantastic, museums were incredible. Our stewards, Ali and Bigsby toured us through the pyramids and gave us memories we will never forget.
Never Never Never go to Egypt with Drones Egypt cant afford terrorists Security is vital in Egypt People's lives depends on tourism, Egypt is great But ye Guys have to understand your not in usa America is also a totally in a mess Walking down street of New York discusting dirt everywhere God bless Americia and Egypt
Just got back to from Egypt a couple of weeks ago. My first day in Egypt my experience was horrible!!! The same thing happened to me at the airport. But luckily I didn’t have to wait as long as you two. Security looked at my passport, then turned around speaking to his coworker in Arabic and said “AMERICAN”. Then they took my bags and started aggressively questioning me about my seat cushion, over the counter medicine, my iPod etc… They Made a complete mess with my items. Then I got scammed by my Uber driver and he tried to get more money out of me. He started screaming at me claiming that I have to pay him extra because he had to pay for tolls. But I didn’t give him the money I just walked out of the car… Then my last day at the airport security looked at my passport and said “”Ahh American! Step in this special line”” he took me to an empty line and took my bags to put them through the scanner. Then he whispers to me and says “”Let me have some money” I said no.. but other than that I had a good time in Egypt.
So now you realize that in certain countries in this world being American is not the most favorable thing? Welcome to reality! Also, tolls are usually not included in Uber fare, which needs to be paid separately, and you just walked out on the guy. Again, you showed with your actions why those who don't like Americans, even dislike more.
I don't understand your problem in many countries drones are banned or you can't board them on a plane! You have to know it! Follow the rules and you're gonna be fine
I loved Egypt, I really didn't like Egyptians. I spent a week there seeing the sights, which was amazing, but my interactions with almost all of the locals was massively disappointing. Their favourite word was Baksheesh (tip). Almost every one of the locals I interacted with in any form, their last words were always "baksheesh". Really put a dampener on my visit.
As an Egyptian, I am very sorry to hear that. It is not "Egyptians", Whoever you meet in the touristic areas are people working for corrupted officials, whom do not represent normal Egyptians. My sincere apologies.
@@TutTravelsVlogs Thank you for your apology, it means a lot. I love Epypt, such an amazing country with such an amazing history and hopefully one day I will visit again.
You go to restaurants or what ever suits you goband asked tips it is regular same like usa I think ! Don't be rude Egyptians 104 millions don't ask for tips !!
These people who ask for tips annoy us as Egyptians, too. I mean, these people do not represent the Egyptians, because we are 120 million people, and each one represents only himself and not the entire people. We, as Egyptians, seriously demand that the government impose a fine on these people
I guess you ought to stay home. The attitude was toxic right from the starrt. I dont know what countries .you have travelked to before, but there are more countires than none who require at least a disclosure of bringung in drones
here are some advice , lose the attitude to begin with . bad attitude will make it worse and will bring you bad karma . second , your issues was your mistakes so don't blame it on a country , there is a list of forbidden things available online that even include binoculars . so don't blame a country on your ignorance . third get a different hotel in another place . I suggest " Zamalek, Downtown " or dokki . get something closer to more civilized area . its a 110 million population country . the area you stayed in which does have a good view to the pyramids but thats it ,it comes with huge cost of almost slum like houses because it is a slums area . and alot of scammers and annoying sales people that live and strive on tourism. the pyramid is a day trip and thats it . not to live there . fourth I don't know if you are still there or not , but If you are still there I can write you list of things and places to see and dine in . finally . just like there are slums there are hotels that costs 20k USD per night . if you have any spare time at night before you sleep , watch other youtubers who visited there and try to quickly put together a plan for your trip .
Hello! If you read the title, you will see we were on a world trip. We could not send our drone back to USA, only to send it back to UAE, which we went to after Egypt. Egypt should improve their drone confiscation process, and not accuse people of smuggling drugs. They have one of the seven wonders, tourists should be a priority.
@@caroandcharlyetourists should not be a priority, appriaciate that you even have an opportunity to see the wonders! Stop be so entitled. The priority it's the people who are citizens not some bloody tourists.
u should respect the country roles also u should read about evry country u wanna to visit if u dont like egypt its okay other ppl like it coz they hv good times here
Haha no worries , we ended up having some great moments in Egypt. However, the entry into the country was unpleasant. Thats' it. If you watch our video, you will see it wasnt about the rule they had in place, but the way they handle it. No protocol, it felt like we were talking to corrupt policemen. They can/should fix that, as we aren't the only ones having this experience, even without a drone.
In most places, you need a license to fly a drone. It is a security risk as anyone can potentially film military sites from above. There is a war next door in Gaza. It is also a developing country w 123m population, most of them. In poverty, so are you surprised that people are trying to sell things to try make a living and to feed themselves. Do proper research before traveling to any country and read up about local customs and traditions, and the “do’s and dont’s”.
As an Egyptian im extremely sorry for ur experience . The security is a bit harsh and its for safety reasons . We have been suffering cuz of terrorists and it only been few years since we didnt have any terrorist attack so the police is being more precise with in checking so we wont have any other attacks in the next years hopefully
I visited Egypt way back in 1979. Other than my luggage, I had my Canon A-1 camera. I never had any issue except the annoying people who ask for handouts. Today I see it a lot worse.
@ahmedalaa-ec2qq They came from the USA on a trip around the world and with the intention of filming aerial scenes of the cities using a drone. I find it difficult for them to get rid of the drone midway due to restrictions in 2 or 3 places. An extreme situation indeed.
You should search before you travel to Middle Estern watch RU-vid videos Drones are NO No banned in Egypt you should ask before you go and what happened with you at airport because the Drone I been there and teak me 30 minutes to bee out the airport they look at your bag in Security room true the Tv if you have something you go with police if they don’t have any NO No in your bag you will bee out airplane woke true out airport in no time now you know
unfortunately the reality is that drones can be modified and used for various terror attacks or for military use just like we see in the war in Ukraine today and in the war in Israel also.
Lucky you! I'm sure it was much more relaxed back then. Tbh if you take some "go away" money it'll make traveling there smoother. We were on a budget due to being on a world trip so 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏻♀️
We did but we were on a world trip & we weren't going to leave our drone in Greece. We figured it would be a simple confiscation & pick up but it surely wasn't.
Us & 2 other people from just our plane had small drones. Egypt only states that they will be confiscated. That process should not take 5+ hours, nor should we be accused of smuggling drugs because we are Colombian . Egypt needs to step up their process of confiscating drones.
I went to Egypt a week ago, and while packing my bag, I decided not to take any valuable items. I also had a DJI Mavic 2 drone, but I thought they might confiscate it at the gate, or if I flew it around Giza without permission, they could seize the drone and deport me from the country. Since I went with a private tour, everything was safe, but I didn't take my Sennheiser headphones or GoPro. If you're travelling by bus with a tour, make sure to bring headphones and load some good movies onto your phone or iPad in advance, because if you're going to Hurghada or Luxor by bus, you'll spend quite a bit of time on the road. Also, if you visit Giftun Island and go diving, make sure to bring your GoPro for underwater filming. But individual trips like the couple in the video made are really, really dangerous. I went to McDonald's across the street from my hotel to order food for my family in the hotel room, and immediately 2 or 3 child beggars clung to my legs. The hotel and McDonald's were only separated by a single street. Cairo is truly a very poor and dangerous city
Sorry you two had to experience that on your initial arrival. That can really make or break a trip. Egypt is such a cool country but Cairo and Giza can be chaotic and confusing. We have a drone too but left it at home since it is not allowed in Egypt. Just zero tolerance for it there as you guys found out. The hustlers at the Giza Plateau can make the visit less enjoyable definitely won't be bothered hiring a private guide or a driver. Nonetheless, your hotel view was spectacular and for $50 is hard to beat! Hope you two continue to enjoy the country and we recommend the 9 Pyramids Lounge and make a stop in Hurghada if you are still in the country or next time you are there!
Thank you guys for the comment! We did stop in Luxor & Hurghada after Cairo. Subscribe if you haven't already to keep up. Hope you guys had a great time in Egypt!
I feel u guys, from what I saw from other vloggers too that Egypt is not a place for a peacefull visit,so many scummers and worst authorities...the only thing people are still going to Egypt is only for the Pyramids ,I think.
thanks for being logical & understanding. We definitely aren't the only ones that had a bad experience traveling to Egypt. Stay tuned for our trips Luxor & Hurghada though 😊
