Had they casted unknowns, I would at least have respected it more. But kevin hart is an instant score point deduction from me. Doesn't help that the rest of the movie doesn't elicit any emotion. At least Madam Web made me laugh with its dumb script.

I've never felt so little while watching a movie about a thing I love

1:20 Lilith had the Vladof Infinity machine pistol, but you might not have known that's what it was. It's supposed to have two barrels, but the movie version only has one barrel spliced together with a weird lug type of thing. 3:40 Ackchyually Roland is of average height (something like 5'10"), but has a peak-human physique. 10:35 Who throws a gun at an enemy in Borderlands unless it's Tediore?! Tediore didn't even have that gimmick in BL1. They had fast reload, and their Legendaries regen'd ammo. But since they're doing the "frappe" thing like the Silent Hill movie (where the director mishmashes details together from two or more of the games in a saga), they might as well have some BL2-style Tediore guns. 13:35 The Rock's gotta play Brick. Dwayne "The Brick" Johnson. Jack Black would be perfect as Typhon DeLeon, but it wouldn't make sense to put that character in the first movie. Just like it wouldn't make sense to make Handsome Jack the villain in the first movie. Ryan Reynolds could play either Axton or Handsome Jack. 17:27 Totally! Except Tediore guns are better if you toss them when there's still ammo in them. They deal barely any damage if they're empty. 20:22 Don't wanna play that card right away. Better to save it. Besides, he wasn't in BL1. Atlas was the "big bad," and the Crimson Lance were their enforcers. 20:34 Again, that's skipping over BL1.

Borderlands is such a great idea for a adaptation but it is very clear to see that they just didn't understand the magic of the games, especially the humor. I was very disappointed with what I watched.

You know what this movie is; Imagine taking Steve Buscemi's character from 30 rock where he dressed up as a High Schooler and says "how do you do fellow kids", Take that meme and make It a 2 hour long movie.

I would’ve just made the borderlands movie an action-comedy road trip with tons of gore. The cast wouldn’t have tannis, and would instead be a team with Roland as the straight man, Lilith as the more lighthearted lead Athena as a mysterious assassin who reluctantly helps Lilith and Roland again, Claptrap as a pure comic relief and annoying guy, and Krieg as a nobody melee user that doesn’t have much connection to anyone and is just there as a complete wild card. Tannis wouldn’t accompany the team but she would be a major character that the team goes to see. Same with Marcus and others. I would set the game on pandora but have it be set in locations from the first game’s DLC as well as a post-destroyer arid badlands with more structures built by Hyperion. The story would basically be about finding and killing the CEO of Atlas even if his Crimson Lance are gone. It involves a vault, which the characters are actually encouraged not to open. The characters would be fighting monsters, bandits, leftover Crimson Lance badasses, and Atlas himself. The characters would be brought together simply to be paid for this job. Plot twist: Hyperion was the mysterious group that hired the protagonists to take out their competition, and the heroes on Promethea (they leave pandora at or around the second act to pursue Atlas HQ) now face both Atlas and Hyperion forces fighting against each other and have to stop the conflict by opening the vault. Lilith knows a monster will be unleashed and it does end up killing everyone involved except our protagonists. They have to come together (Krieg included) and put aside their differences to defeat the monster. Monster is defeated and tons of loot is spewed everywhere. This movie would include shields, at least one example of every gun manufacturer, grenades and their mods, and would also feature some kind of action skill from Roland, Lilith, and Claptrap. The movie would also contextualize some things in Borderlands the Pre Sequel since all the main cast save for Krieg show up in that game. Athena and Claptrap work for Jack after the events in this movie, Roland and Lilith go on vacation, and Krieg kind of just leaves, except now he knows Lilith and Roland and can connect with them the same way the BL2 Vault Hunters do.

Sooooo they couldn't spend more on the special guns then it's not rated R and you wonder why movie bomb like it did. And yeah I played the first BL1 and they could had gotten a better person to play Roland.😮😮😮😮

I'm the opposite. I thought it was a good movie. Jack black made me laugh as claptrap many times. Story was fine and gor their first time out I've seen allot worse. And the switch up from Tina to Lilith actually felt hood especially when Lilith starts kicking butt
