But it works :) Some cats also vomit early in the morning because they haven't eaten in a while. The acid builds up in their stomach, causing irritation. I had a cat which I gave a small snack before going to bed. A cat is not supposed to vomit up their hair most of the time, so a catfriendly plant (like catgrass or catnip) or more brushing might also help.

I used to wake my son up in the mornings; I would speak gently and greet him with a hug- kind affirmations. Now that he is in middle school, he uses the alarm on his phone. There is a noticeable difference with how he handles the morning. This video is my sign to restart the habit. The world is a terrible place, so I might as well gently speak life into him in the mornings.
@philippamediwake1235
@philippamediwake1235 25 дней назад
Please don’t think of the world being a terrible place. Also never ever pass negative ideas about the world to your children (just incase you do)! How people perceive the world is an individual thing but the more positively we view the world, the more positively our children will react to life (at least i hope it works like this)!

hot tip: I have horrible sleep inertia (if I don't help it, can take up to 2-3 hours, I also have ADHD). What without fail seems to help me be alert and fresh is taking a shower and while in the shower do a super quick self lymphatic drainage of the subclavian lymph nodes, neck and face. It takes about 2-3 minutes. It feels like it washes away brain fog. This is especially needed if you tend to be someone with chronically tight neck muscles, as this can slow/reduce lymphatic clearance from your head. There are some medical conditions where lymphatic drainage is counter-indicated (e.g. cardiac insufficiency), so ask your medical professional first before starting to do this.
@Liliarthan

Marc Rebillet's "Wake up" has now been my alarm for about a year: the combination of an awesome song and the panic induced by knowing that all the neighbours are woken up by the screams of a man in the early hours has me running out of bed and in a pretty good mood every morning. I went from an alarm that scared me awake to one that gradually got louder and playing a melodic tune. That was great but I needed more. I found a cheap sunrise clock to try out. Long story short, I'm on my third sunrise clock. My second was for light quality. Unfortunately that one stopped working in less than a year so I had to replace it. I need to change the sound on my current one. My last one used birdsong and it was fantastic. I have blinds on my bedroom windows, no curtains, on purpose, and even with that light coming in, the sunrise alarm helps. I do still hit the snooze but rarely more than once. Significant improvement over hitting it eight or nine times.

Sleep inertia has been a real problem for me for the last few years. My circadian rhythm is based on sunrise. My previous employer allowed me to set my own schedule, so I could arrive at 9 am and leave at 6 (with the bonus of missing rush hour traffic). My current supervisor, a university professor, insists all employees arrive at 8 am so younger employees will show up on time 🤔. A cup of coffee no longer helps. If I wake up with sleep inertia, 80% of the time I will have a less productive day at work. Changed my alarm to music. Putting my phone out of reach so I can't hit snooze. Thanks for the tips.

Pandora had an option to make it your alarm. Familiar and melodic, it always made staying awake easier cuz I wanted to listen to the songs

I like the idea of waking up at the same time everyday so that my body gets used to it. I will definitely try it, wish me good luck I’m a heavy sleeper 😪

I have really really bad sleep inertia, and I'm hoping changing the sound to my alarm helps! I always figured the louder and more abrupt the better. Hopefully this works 🤩

This videos make me feel smart because I've figured out each and every one of theese tips by myself. Bruno Mars "count on me" and Azure Ray "Nothing like a song" works perfectly (always fadeing in), by the way. Also Marillion's "Neverland" but that one scalates quickly to a louder mood so only works for people who wont take much time to leave bed.

I've never used an alarm clock to wake up. I've always been able to wake up on time when I have to work or do something (early) in the morning. Over the last coupe years I've been having my Google Nest Hub play ocean sounds around the time I need to wake up (5 am) during the week. I Usually lay there for about an hour, then get up and get ready at a normal pace. That helps me ease into the day and not have to rush.

1:46 omg this makes sense. i switched to a harsh tone from my gentle spotify playlist. 2:24 that also makes everything a lot clearer bc they were my favourite songs that i often nap to m

I have very bad sleep inertia. It lasts 2 hours, and waking up with an alarm is a joke for me. I am barely conscious, so I turn it off and go to sleep. If I wake up on my own I feel very nearly paralyzed and cannot so much as sit up. I have never tried gentle nature sounds that gradually get louder, however, so I am going to try that tip. I think birds will be good for me; bird chirps just scream morning time in my mind.

My alarm has been set to Agape by Nicholas Britell from the movie If Beale Street Could Talk since the movie came out 5 years ago. Still my current favourite sounds to wake up to.

This confirms what I have been thinking. I can't stand the loud jarring alarms, but I am afraid I will sleep through sounds of nature. Right now my happy medium is upbeat music. Also, I don't remember where I learned it from, but once I wake up, it's really important to get up, stretch, and say "I'm awake". The video mentioned getting out of bed and moving, and now I understand why the previous advice works. I am going to keep saying "I'm awake" too, because I feel it makes a difference. It's affirmational, if anything.

I have made it a rule to drink a glass of water before I leave my room because we're dehydrated and that makes us hungrier. So lately, if I feel I can't pull myself out, I start drinking some of that water. Eventually, my bladder will get me up.

I like to put hype music as my alarm, it really helps! Also I like to think of the first song you listen to in the morning as your own tv theme song and with each day being a new episode of your life hehe

I used to wake up and feel groggy for the first 2-3 hours of the day, despite of sleeping 8 or even more hours, living healthy, not smoking or drinking etc. I'd often have a headache, and was irritable by any sounds. I finally got diagnosed with ADHD and got medicated (bupropion), I now wake up feeling fresh and ready to go. Just awake as soon as I open my eyes. It's crazy how much dopamine affects your brain and your life in so many aspects of it. I also have the 'sun alarm' clock and it's great in winter. for those dark mornings.

Thank you for this video ~ it explains so much of my morning experiences… as I am totally deaf without my one hearing device, I either wake up “when I wake up” or my husband will wake me up by tapping my shoulder. Do you have any suggestions for someone in my situation? ❤️

I love waking up to one of my favourite soundtracks from Animal Crossing: New Horizons! It's a lovely guitar strumming with a melody that I enjoy. My phone alarm setting also has the gradual volume increase option.

I knew this before, but the last sentence really hit me. Usually i need maximum of 60min to get ready. But some times i just cant seem to get moving on time. And indeed it is the time of the morning i wake up / hours i slept. I notice this and adjusted my expectations. i still wish that my night owl brain would be given more time in the morning in general though

Can confirm that changing from a harsh, even shrieking alarm sound to a gentle nature sound helps with getting up/waking up. My current wake-up sound for the work week is the sound of a crackling campfire. Makes me think back to my childhood when my family would go camping we'd sometimes cook over a fire instead of a camping stove.
