The WORST Weapon in Tarkov | Escape from Tarkov 

I love the STM, I especially love taking off its stock and grip and giving that to an ADAR instead. Then my mates can stare at the wood stock STM in confusion.

the STM-9's non-existent recoil has saved my ass more times than I'd care to count. It's very much a Marmite weapon. You either hate it cuz it can't pen, or you love it because you can actually hit your shots for once.

I absolutely love this gun, I'm a terrible player but every time I decided to take a STM to raid I have kicked ass, there's something very underrated about a gun that has literally no recoil and being able to point click at pmc's faces.

i feel like if the STM had a full auto mode it would be the premium sweat weapon of choice

This gun has haunted me since I've started playing. I got an STM early in the last wipe and I couldn't get rid of it. Everytime I died I would get it back. I have never fully broken a gun before the STM. It bcame a gag with my friends that when I got it back I need to see how long I could last with it. Sometimes I would end up finding another the raid after I died. It followed me, surpassing the insurance system. I fully maxed out the mastery for it by the end of the wipe. I just got back into the game last week. First raid I go into I killed a scav on Customs. Imagine my horror when he had an STM. First raid, first kill, first piece of loot. STM is love, STM is life

If they added a way to put an auto sear into it, it would be insane

its even funnier when you realize you can also turn the mpx into a pseudo dmr if you're just so desperate to snipe with a carbine, but it has the added benefit of full auto in cqb.

I like the STM-9, it's fun. What I like better, though, is stripping the parts and making sweet looking ADARs

I remember the time I took an STM-9 with green tracer into 2 story. Was basically just doing a budget back up run so a friend could do a task. Face tapped 2 guys with a meta 101 and the other had an RPK. I was happy, so it's become my budget gun, and it's honestly not trash, but it's definitely not good.

Having fun in Tarkov truly is a superpower.

I actually enjoy using the sniper variant of the STM at medium ranges with RIP rounds. The damage drop off doesn't exist, and where you leg someone with the first shot it's not unheard of to hit them a few times, relocate and have them have bled out by the time you see them again.

This gun is the embodiment of :"Just click head".

First day the STM came out. A buddy gifted me a kit with one, I though I was going to lose it instantly. I spent all day destroying other PMCs, it was great.

Hold up! So in Tarkov the stats number really means nothing, because each gun has its own recoil pattern. If you take something like the Saiga or PP-19 and give it equal or even lower recoil numbers and shoot at an equal distance from the STM, you'll actually find that the STM has a much better grouping. It's the same with the SKS vs something like an AK or VPO where while you'll see a much higher vertical recoil, especially on that first shot, firing as fast as you can theres virtually 0 horizontal recoil. Try it out, just get a STM and Saiga with similar numbers, then go on a map where you can shoot at a wall from something like 100 meters and compare the groupings.

the STM also takes Glock mags. At that point just pack a Glock 17 or 18c. It goes into your holster so you can pack a primary and still pick up a dead guy's gun if its valuable. You can put a 50-rounder in it and pack sticks in your rig. Not to mention the 18c is full-auto, if you need a panic button for when your primary jams just whip it out and hold on for dear life (pistols get a faster draw speed when your primary jams). The 17 and the new 19x are semi-auto only, but most of the other positives still apply, and I know for certain that the 17 has a lot of aftermarket customizability to help reduce recoil and/or help with ergo.

Stm 9 + RIP is my favorite gun to run around with on interchange, feels good to leg juicers with such a meme gun and it works surprisingly well at mid range fights

Its only theoretically semi-auto, only limited by how fast you can click :)

If you've ever used a 9mil to it's extended ranges then you'd know to rely on RIP ammo and leg shots. First couple of shots immobilize your opponent, second couple finishes him.

The STM-9 is not a DMR but rather the highest evolution of a pistol and people think it's garbage because it's not shredding people when you shoot center mass. It HAS to be used like a pistol, a (comparatively) really good and really overpriced pistol.

making the stm a glorified 9mm marksman rifle is a great feeling plus gun sounds like a mosquito with suppresser

STM needs full auto attatchment or variant to be really useful. It's a fun gun to use and pretty useful on night time raids.

Love the STM, it slaps with the glock drum mag, silencer, hand grip and an okp-7 sight. It's hilarious when you kill a scav boss with it :D

I, too, will use green tracers on any full auto 9mm SMG because watching big green ball hit dude is hilarious especially if you actually get him

One idea I've tried a few times is hyper long range with green tracer. It's definitely a meme weapon, but most people panic when they see 20 tracers thrown out them near silently. Also rouges can be clapped if you got the angles. SV98 is still better for this but 9mm is funny

I just love the way it looks and shoots, plus i get a bunch on my scav run since i spawn with one alot

Low recoil STM with rip rounds or quake is one of my favorite builds and I usually get it back from insurance lol

My only complaint about the STM comes from a poor reception to my first experience with the gun. See, when it was released it was specifically calibrated for all the sights, optics, red dots, etc. to be zeroed for PSO rounds, because it's a civilian weapon. So my first experience with it was taking a very nice red dot and loading some AP and heading to customs only to encounter sniper scav at construction and get my arms and legs ripped off, stomach blacked out, and go through an entire cabinet of medical supplies because the gun was firing the rounds 10 feet above where I was aiming. AP rounds had more velocity than PSO, so there was literally no mounting solution for getting accurate sights at the time, because dots let you shift the aimpoint "DOWN" by increasing range, but nothing lets you go "UP" beyond the shortest setting. I have never trusted that gun since.

suppressed stm-9 with RIP ammo is the ambush king. i’ve got tons of kills with it lol. i love it.

STM + RIP rounds = Awesome extract camping memories

I love the STM-9 for one very simple reason. It was the gun I got my first PMC kill with, and no other gun can do that. Also, keep in mind that getting hit repeatedly also blurs your vision and disorients you, so you also got that going for you.

I've only used it once and it was from a scav so I repaired it to 92 durability, slapped on a MRS and a flashlight laser combo and just get tasks done in night raids

They should add a lightning link into the game it is a drop in Auto sear for AR platforms and what they could do is make it make the guns that you drop them less reliable and they are now full auto only you can't switch to semi-auto for tap shots. It would also make the ADAR more useful

It’s a funny gun. I loved sniping dudes in the head with 6.3. I understand though, it isn’t really useful compared to every other gun. Basically every point you make is correct. Good video. 👍

Used it as a DMR with ACOG on woods, when damage drop off was not a thing yet

STM is great, you almost always get it back in insurance, it has like no recoil and if you can hit faces consistently (I can’t), need an easy scav killer or come across people armorless often then it’s perfect

gonna be honest, ive ripped many a pmc at night with the STM. but what you need to keep in mind is its replacing (for me) a suppressed pistol. for me its an HK USP or an STM (five seven with suppressor but annoying to get/spend)

The SAG has gotta be the best small rifle caliber DMR in the game. New stock, new muzzle brake, and a scope. Then you go use that 45 recoil laser gun to shoot center mass

I like to strip stm's and place it on a ADR. Pretty cool budget build after selling left over components for a semi auto rifle. The only thing you'll need to by is a gas block.

I've hated this thing ever since Skier gave it to me and I didn't realize it was a semi auto carbine and liked how cool it looked, then fired 1 bullet and died to a scav faceshot.

I love the STM i used it for my early days of learning tarkov as it trained me to aim exclusively for headshots otherwise it was death guaranteed

I wish the part of the wipe where the ppsh, pp-19/saiga-9 are viable would last longer, but by the time i get around to getting it better options are available. Absolutely my favorite weapons but i never end up using them past level 15

I love them for meme or broke runs since I can throw attachments onto it unlike a pistol. I just want a version that shoots .45 instead of 9mm.

There should be a craft that just needs a drill and maybe some weapon parts or whatever to make it automatic, that would be kinda cool for some of the other semi weapons as well!

I sorta liked the STM as an ergo monster, but didn't use it because of the pen. Then BSG came out with the SAG AKs and those stole the show as max-ergo guns that can actually pen things.

I run the stm-9 when I am broke and I need something to kill scavs up close ( I run a sniper 90% of the time ) so something more forgiving is nice to have, drum mag, a cheap grip, laser and a 2x scope gets the job done, with the drum mag I dont even carry another one + people never take it so I just insure it and take it out again when it comes back

the STM is my highest mastery weapon at the moment, mainly due to the fact that if I die in raid I am getting it back on insurance 90% of the time

i rather use adar with m855 ammo sense its 53 dmg and 30 pen ( kinda same as 9.19 ap I think ) but at least this gun and ammo gonna be way more consistent at med to kinda long range that's up until you'll get m856a1 or m855a1 and if your on a budget run it also works better than the stm9 , anyway nice chill video :D

Little note on speed. Its largely Dictated by your barrel length and muzzle device. Gotta go big barrel to actually get that max bullet velocity

STM-9 seems like as a weapon with really low accuracy. I tried to kill scav like 20 meters away from me, and i was precisely shooting his head and half of his body that was sticking out from the pipe or smth like this but i missed like 7-8 out of 10 bullets or so, i literally saw how bullets went everywhere but not his head

Last wipe I was able to take out a 3 man on lighthouse with it by quickly moving around trees and rocks in CQC by mountain extract. Headtaps are very easy with it. 9x19 pst. All three had Reaprs lmao.

hi please try this gun with a 1x6 zoom scope with 50 round drum mag green tracer, it's alot of fun and if you go rapid fire on them from a distance it looks reallllly satisfying

I use the STM for one thing and one thing only, big rig, remove the stock (keep the buffer tube), remove the muzzle, keep it as bare bones as you can, and loot run the ever loving hell out of reserve. just slap the things on your gun, get 2 XRSU47 and minimize it using ak-74u gas blocks and start looting reserve, thats how I fund my addicition in getting slapped at other maps.

The STM is either dog or amazing depending on the person using it

concerning what you said about using the stm as a dmr, its actually even worse in that role than you think due to the fact that rounds lose penetration over distance, and i imagine pistol caliber rounds are more severely effected by this
