In this video I need to fix a broken lid on the centre dashboard storage bin - the one that's under the CD/Radio/Tape player. Higher trim spec Xtrails may vary in the trim removal process depending on whether they have a SATNAV screen fitted.
My 2005 T30 has suffered the (apparently) common 'floppy flap' problem where the upper centre strorage lid flops open due to a broken spring attachment on the lid hinge. So after putting up with using bluetak and magnets, I decided to take it out to see if it could be repaired. The actual repair will be seen in the next episode so stay tuned. This video will be useful for later T30's 2004 owners who need to access the CD player or HVAC controls or vents. Once this centre trim panel is removed, Torx 20 driver or bit will be needed to remove the T20 screws retaining the storage bin and ICE.
